To all those Sheeple who keep repeating the same old crap about how he should buy a iPhone 4... If he doesn't want to buy one, stop harassing him about it, for crying out loud!

If he doesn't want one, he doesn't want one! And besides, who'd want a piece of crap phone that can't even make phone calls properly or get decent coverage anywhere!

(And before anyone asks, no I am not going to apologise for being blunt because I'm being honest here, and if you don't like it, tough luck because that's the way I am; brutal and honest like Simon Cowell except I'm way better looking than him and I don't wear high-waisted trousers... That, plus I'm not one of those sad Sheeple who thinks that Steve Jobs is the best thing since sliced bread and is willing to pay full price for a product! LOL)

Sad to say but Apple Sheeple like burgundyyears will never accept that there are other devices that do things better than Apple products in a lot of cases! *shakes head*

burgundyyears likes the product and what it does. That's all.

BTW yustas, that was a great comeback that you did against someone who can't accept the truth that the new iPod Touch isn't perfect!

I only saw people saying they liked the iPod Touch. The quote of the person who said that the iPod Touch was perfect and refused to accept the claim that it wasn't didn't show up on my computer, could you re-post it? Thanks bro.

Simple, what Steve Jobs said on Sept. 1st - i.e., the new iPod Touch is the iPhone without the phone, which is obviously not the case.

I wouldn't be too surprised if there's going to be a Class Action lawsuit brought against Steve Jobs and Apple for false advertising some time in the near future the way things are going with the product not being advertised as promised...

Is denial a new feature Apple is selling to fanboyz? The review points out how poor the screen, camera and other things are compared to the iPhone. But do not worry, the new iPod Touch is thinner, which, according to Apple, is more important than actual features and functionality of the the iPod Touch, so all other things do not matter, lol.

Wow, it took you four years to find mediocrity, no wonder you are happy with a 0.7 MB camera in 2010.

Yep, it's a great device. Really, there's no equal to it and most manufacturers have given up trying to devise direct competition to it. Google, for whatever reason, is averse to supporting non-phone devices so the ones that have come out have been disappointing and cut off from things like the market. Oh, and for 720p video, I'm actually impressed with the camera. Comparisons are popping up with the higher end flip hd cameras and it compares very favorably.

Oh, and I'm not an apple fanboy, folks. I own no other apple hardware (with no plans to) and actively worked to get Macs/Mac OS X removed from where I work a few years ago, because it was just really suboptimal for our needs. We used to have 35+ Macs, we now have below 10, mostly a smattering of G5's and an occasional imac purchase. But when it comes to a capable portable internet device without a contract, there is no equal to the touch. You can live your life by a spec sheet, or you can use what works for what tasks you want to complete. I respect Anand's opinion, but I've referred to him more for things like motherboard reviews, but I also know what my own lying eyes are telling me.

I am a reasonable person, I do not expect perfection. iPhone is not perfect, but there is no reason for the Touch in 2010 not to be as good (not better, just as good) as the iPhone.

I find it deplorable when companies treat their loyal customers as fools. I love Apple. I think it is one of the best companies in the world, but it does not mean I have to buy their laughable excuses for cutting corners and putting out a mediocre product.

Steve Jobs didn't say it is an iPhone without the phone. He said "a lot of people call it an iPhone without the phone."

No equal to it? Does Apple give fanboyz free products to spread denial or something? Have you ever heard of the iPhone? What other companies do does not matter. But again, it took you four years to find mediocrity, so I guess there is no point trying to explain why 0.7 camera in 2010, poor screen, low memory and other glaring shortcomings matter more than thinnest. It's okay, you do not need to understand. Remember, it is thinner, look out America's Next Top Model. :D

Why does Apple expect people to pay $399 for iPod Touch 64 GB and not get the same functionality as you get on iPhone, minus the phone part, of course. Apple, please, do not treat people as if we are a bunch of clueless morons. I think we deserve an excuse that sounds intelligent and plausible. The "thinnest" thingy is insulting.

Because the iPhone is $599 and you get what you pay for.

Simple as that. Stop whining.

Steve Jobs didn't say it is an iPhone without the phone. He said "a lot of people call it an iPhone without the phone."

Right, which implies what? That he agrees, right? If he does not agree, he would challenge it instead of just repeating what people say. Clearly, he was making the case that new upgrades make the new Touch the iPhone without the phone.

Dig a hole an put me if you ever see me with an ipod touch....

IPHONE to the world...cheap bastard spend u ras claat money ute.

:D

Because the iPhone is $599 and you get what you pay for.
No, you do not. The Touch does not have the phone part and GPS. Again, Apple said it is not about the price, it is about the thinnest. I will buy this explanation for $599, but not for free. :D

Your answer is confusing, and my statement still stands.

You get more, you pay more. What don't you get?

Right, which implies what? That he agrees, right? If he does not agree, he would challenge it instead of just repeating what people say.

What it doesn't imply is that it is a spec for spec replica of the iPhone without the phone. I describe it as an iPhone without the phone all the time to people who ask about it. It doesn't mean that I think they are exactly the same except for the phone.

Clearly, he was making the case that new upgrades make the new Touch the iPhone without the phone.

How does stating that people in the past have called it an iPhone without a phone imply anything about the new upgrades or the new iPod touch?

So, in your view, what is the equal to it in the non-contract mobile internet market, in this footprint? That is, if you can break away from your ad hominem and apparent obsession with a TV show.

Um, let's see: retina display, face time, two cameras, face time, HD video and editing, three-axis gyro - now, what does it sound like, Zune?

Did you forget what your point was? Or are you just trying to shift the argument because you have no response to my point?

So, in your view, what is the equal to it in the non-contract mobile internet market, in this footprint?

It is clear what my opinion is, it is on the first page, go back to the first page and read. Either way it does not matter. When BMW, for example, came out with the iDrive, it sucked, it still sucks today (but a little less) - the point is, nobody was making excuses for it by saying something like "hey, but nobody else has the iDrive, so you must love it." All car magazines and a lot of consumers criticized BMW for it.

Having said that, in BMW's defense, they did not have a virtually identical product which was better than the original iDrive. Apple, on the other hand, does have a virtually identical better product, but it makes excuses that only fanboyz can buy, which is disappointing.

Did you forget what your point was? Or are you just trying to shift the argument because you have no response to my point?

You have no point. It does not have to be an identical product. I never said the new iPod Touch has to be identical, but the quality of the newly added features surely can be identical.
