I haven't been a Dre fan ever since I heard about that Dee Barnes incident. And I'm not going to watch this show. But I think the way MR reported on this show is probably misleading. You could write about out-of-context scenes in Game of Thrones, Boardwalk Empire, or House of Cards in an equally salacious way, and people who haven't seen those shows would assume the shows are horrible.

Well this is going to go down well on MR

No kidding. What's the over/under on 500 posts? I would take the over all day.

As soon as I read the title, I let out an audible sigh.

You people sound really old and conservative and irrelevant.

The only thing that matters as to how this works out in the end is how good of a show it will be. If it's amazing, then it could be a great business launch. If it sucks, then no.

Note that I don't know if this is going to be any good or not, as I'm not familiar with the talent of production team here. We'll just have to wait and see.

I do wish Apple would get into the ISP business, though, as current ISPs seem to limit Apple's hardware capabilities.

Old, conservative, white, racist, ignorant. Pick any. You name it. Etc. Welcome to the demographics of MR.

I am really surprised that this type of series is how Apple wants to debut its original content.

I dont think its the "type" of show that is the issue. Rather, the question should be is this going to hit the target demographic. I for one could care less about Mr. Dre. and his rise to fame. But good luck with this Apple.

Well said. And yes, they do need to be their own ISP.

A few weeks back, I made a joke in another thread about all the shows being based off Jobs' life; this isn't far off. Perhaps the next few series might be:

Cooking with Tim Cook
Feng Shui Living with Jony Ive
Digital Photography Masterpiece Theater with Phil Schiller

Doesn't Dre. look like Jean Claude Van-damme

Apple should just buy HBO. Then they have great shows and an experienced staff running the joint. :) Looks like they intend to use the sex and violence angle witch is good by me. Show's we watch like Homeland, Ray Donovan, Game of Thrones... they aren't any different.

That's the worst idea I've ever heard. I like HBO, I'd hate to see Apple destroy it.

..reminds me of what Apple did in the early to mid 90s. SJ brought them back on track by cutting all the ********.

What's next? An Apple softdrink?

I bet if Timmy pissed in the soft drink, the zealots here wold pay even more for it.

So having spent gazillions on the marketing genius Jimmy Iovine of the "girls complaining about boys" gaff, they now have to water his pet plant, the "Beats", in ...by Dre.

This'll surely compete with the likes of Game of Thrones, House of Cards, The Walking Dead, and so forth...
[doublepost=1455310875][/doublepost]Actually, the more I think about it, the more it seems they just need to find *something* for him to do around the place. He must be like a restless poltergeist at the moment, the value I imagine he brings.

I know I haven't been in Apple's target demographic since Timmy took over. All I want is a nice sleek, powerful computer that just works. I know I'm not going to find that from Apple.

Will it reveal how he avoided prison after assaulting journalist Dee Barnes with the help of his body guard? Her crime: a critical review of his work.

I guess you'll have to tune in to find out :)

I know I will be watching. Sounds like you will be too...unless you were just being snarky, in which case... :/

Well Time Warner has asked Apple several times to buy them out "and that would include HBO in the package" and HBO and Apple already have an extremely strong relationship. Besides, Apple isn't the type of company to buy HBO only to destroy it's name. They just wouldn't do that.

Rolling Stone: He [Dre] picked her up by her hair and "began slamming her head and the right side of her body repeatedly against a brick wall near the stairway" as his bodyguard held off the crowd with a gun. After Dre tried to throw her down the stairs and failed, he began kicking her in the ribs and hands. She escaped and ran into the women’s rest room. Dre followed her and "grabbed her from behind by the hair again and proceeded to punch her in the back of the head."

As Dr. Dre explained the incident: "People talk all this ****, but you know, somebody **** with me, I’m gonna **** with them. I just did it, you know. Ain’t nothing you can do now by talking about it. Besides, it ain’t no big thing—I just threw her through a door." Mr Cook knows how to pick them.

He sure does.... Cook worked for a guy that did everything in his power to make sure his daughter got the bare minimum while he was making millions. And that was after denying her for years.

But Jobs is a saint and Dre should ALWAYS be defined by his past. Right?
