Yeah, I was just answering why Samsung prices the note 8 higher.

Why did Apple price the X higher than the 8 Plus?

Maybe I misread it, but I still don't understand why the Note 8 is priced higher than the S8, besides a stylus. Apple priced the X higher than the 8 Plus due to the the larger OLED screen, better case materials, and the 3D facial recognition system.

Bigger screen and S Pen. The Note 8 also has 6GB of ram vs 4GB in the S8+ and a dual optical zoom camera that the S8 or S8+ doesn't have.

lots of hate on the iPhone i don't get it. Plus nearly all the big Tech Youtubers have Android phone as they daily driver.
go on twitter see lots of hate. people say iPhone is outdated. must be lots of Android fan's here and there.

There are a lot of Android fans that love to go on iPhone forums and just argue back and forth about features. What they don't realize is that is has nothing to do with features, specs, or who had it first. If a consumer prefers iOS, they will simply wait until the iPhone has those same features. There is no reason to switch when it runs Android.

Bigger screen and S Pen. Not sure why that's so difficult to understand. These two things make the phone cost more to produce. The Note 8 also has 6GB of Ram vs 4GB in the S8+ and a dual optical zoom camera that the S8 or S8+ doesn't have.

Cool, make sense. So a similar situation as the 8 Plus to the X. Better screen and camera.

what pisses me off is:

being f'd over by having to get a 256gb phone when I just want 128gb
having to pay about $100 on a cord/charger to take advantage of the fast charging

I'm a pretty big fanboy but my patience is being tested

So $1529 for the phone (here in Canada for the 256GB model) and a $100 for another cable to actually charge it fast. $1629 before taxes and no Apple Care. Hmmm...hardly seems worth it huh?

the notch
the lack of color options
faceid vs touchid
price
nov launch

vs

all the **** that samsung has been letting you buy for years.

no one gives a **** about animojis.
[doublepost=1505346777][/doublepost]also a huge deal for tmobile customers:

no 600mhz band. basically phone wont be future proof for increased reception/lte/lte5

buy something else...problem solved. what good does it do to complain

It's not hatred it's disappointment from people who enjoy Apple products, like myself.

I was underwhelmed by the launch especially after all the hype. All I can see is prices going up and less effort into competing against rivals. Profits appear to be the priority and squeezing loyal consumers with less than impressive products. The result is less interest and a rise in negativity towards a product we have all enjoyed using.

You can't expect everybody to be enthusiastic and defend the price hikes. Apple needs to start relating to the people who are keeping them at the top. I think the days of people buying just for the brand are over as people are more savvy as to what is available/achievable.

Then protest with your wallet. Apple does not care what you or I think otherwise. And expecting them to “relate to the people” is never going to happen. They are a for profit company. Hit their bottom line and then maybe you’ll get their attention. What I know to be true from the past that’s the most pathetic, is that a large percentage of the people complaining in here will be the first in line with their credit cards in hand. Don’t expect to see the change that everyone’s clamoring about while this is still taking place.

This is a really important point that many who are praising the X are missing. I have an S7 Edge. It's more than a year old now and the screen is STILL better than the phone Apple hasn't even released yet, as their flagship. To some that may not be important I suppose, but it's a pretty big $1000 price tag with that "not better" screen you are getting.

Higher resolution is not the same thing as "better". Does your display support true tone and HDR?

I have protested with my wallet. I bought a 6S last year which was £240 less than the iPhone 7. Next year I will buy the older model again and this is a growing trend in the UK. Apple might not care now but when we have the chairman of the UK's largest mobile retailer saying new iPhone sales are beginning to plateau then I think they'll soon realise their prices are too high here.

I'm yet to meet anybody in my friends group or workplace that's getting the iPhone X. I think we'll see a healthy amount of interest in the 8 and older devices. This launch is getting a bashing in the UK press and we're Europes biggest mobile market.

That is awesome! I totally support that.

But then again, you're buying all the older stock they have a hard time selling, while others buy the new models and keep them back ordered for months. I agree with your motive, not sure it will have the results you're hoping for.

Excellent point.

Spot on they are definitely squeezing every penny to hit that trillion mark.
People reaction would be different if they offered us free Airpods or free wireless charging with the iPhone X.

I don’t mind the design of the 8.
The 4 and 4S weren’t that different from the 5 and 5S, just that they were stretched and exchanged the glass back. Is it that bad that the 6, 6S, 7 and 8 are alike? The 2-4S has the same screen size as well, is the design of the 8 really that surprising? Apple usually isn’t in a hurry.

True about the older stock, but the iPhone 7 apparently had disappointing sales here in the last year so that suggests they didn't sell as many as they'd hoped. The BBC reported mobile phone sales, especially the iPhone have cooled off which people keeping devices longer or opting for older models. I'm pretty sure the motive is working to be honest. We buy for ourselves ultimately and I saved money so was happy. Older iPhones always sell though, carriers never have difficulty selling them on cheaper contracts.

My title says it all. I am literally dumbfounded by all the hatred for Apple I see on here. What’s most mind numbing to me is where the hate is being posted. I would understand if I were on a Android forum or something, but of all the places I’m on macrumors. It’s truly saddening to me, and I’m not a fanboy, but rather just a fan and longtime user of Apple products. With all the visceral energy here spewing of hatred you would think that Apple had kidnapped your first born. I just don’t get it. We all pretty much know what’s coming now days with most every new product release since the rumors are more or less spot on. As far as the iPhone X goes, did any of us really expect Apple not to continue down the path they have always taken? Their path as I see it has always been one of doing things in such a way that their users adapt and end up loving their products. I could be off on this, but I suspect many will fall in love with the iPhone X. I will admit that the two things I’m scratching my head over are the asymmetrical screen with the notch at the top and of course the reliability of Face ID. But I suspect in time just as with all Apple products that they will nail it and all the apprehension will fade into the background. Thoughts?
You're on an Apple site where so many are complaining about Apple. You're right, these aren't Apple haters. These are Apple fans.

This tells me maybe Apple messed up.

I’m sure by now many of you have seen this video:

Chris has a lot of very valid points, but I was concerned he might have a stroke.

It's a free country.

If people want to post threads that are anti-Apple...they should be allowed to. And the same if someone is pro-Apple.

This is a discussion forum.

No one is saying you have to participate.

Missed the entire point I was making. But you got one thing right. It is indeed still a free country. Hence the reason for my post.

At least in AB you don't have to pay PST ;)

Ouch...

Why all the hate?

Because if Samsung had released this monstrosity, YOU would have slaughtered it, and rightly so.
“YOU”...? You don’t know me. Don’t propose to assume what I would or wouldn’t do. Speak for yourself please.
