I think Apple will lose the UK market over the next few years if they carry on as they are. I'll be the first to blame brexit and our current government for this (I voted for neither) but aside from the fact that US goods are getting more expensive thanks to the currency tanking, we also have falling wages that are starting to lag behind inflation - it's really not the right time (for us) for Apple to decide they're the new Vertu.I'm not particularly bothered how much Apple make in regards to profit and don't use that as the benchmark for how happy I am with their products. It's irrelevant. Apple produce very nice products but they are very complacent too and when people do flock to stores to buy iPhones that don't really push the boundaries of innovation, they don't need to really try that hard. I'm very happy with my iPhone, I just wish Apple hadn't started ripping us off at the retailer. The prices have shot up and it's becoming unaffordable to upgrade and this wasn't the case just 2 years ago. This is where most of the criticism has come from from those of us who enjoy their products.
Nice rant if it true...I think Apple will lose the UK market over the next few years if they carry on as they are. What's not true? Apple's prices are rising, that's being compounded by currency changes, and wages are falling at the same time. Doesn't seem like a recipe for increasing sales, put it that way.
You blaming Brexit for it....The UK is one of the cheapest places to buy Apple products, heck some of the MBP were even less money here than in the USA.What's not true? Oh give over. It's not political to say Uk wages are falling, it's also not political to say that sterling tanked the moment the brexit result was announced and has yet to recover, that's cold hard fact whatever spin you put on it. Go back to reading comforting things in the Telegraph if you don't like it.You blaming Brexit for it....The UK is one of the cheapest places to buy Apple products, heck some of the MBP were even less money here than in the USA.
Either way, a rant like that belongs in the politics session...
We Apple fans must stay strong and united in the face of all this hatred, negativity and attempts to divide us.
We know Apple makes the very best products
We all like paying more for quality and class
We love buying the latest and greatest iPhones each year
We are never giving up on Apple
We're proud of how successful Apple is
I love this company.

Well there you go, another remoaner....Shame the facts don't back up what you are saying about buying apple products in comparison to other countries...Just do yourself a favour and think about that part as a reality check...Oh give over. My title says it all. I am literally dumbfounded by all the hatred for Apple I see on here. What’s most mind numbing to me is where the hate is being posted. I would understand if I were on a Android forum or something, but of all the places I’m on macrumors. It’s truly saddening to me, and I’m not a fanboy, but rather just a fan and longtime user of Apple products. With all the visceral energy here spewing of hatred you would think that Apple had kidnapped your first born. I just don’t get it. We all pretty much know what’s coming now days with most every new product release since the rumors are more or less spot on. As far as the iPhone X goes, did any of us really expect Apple not to continue down the path they have always taken? Their path as I see it has always been one of doing things in such a way that their users adapt and end up loving their products. I could be off on this, but I suspect many will fall in love with the iPhone X. I will admit that the two things I’m scratching my head over are the asymmetrical screen with the notch at the top and of course the reliability of Face ID. But I suspect in time just as with all Apple products that they will nail it and all the apprehension will fade into the background. Thoughts?
jeez, this post sounds like really ''scary''. Are you sure you're not just brainwashed to the max, by Apple Inc.?
LMAO. These really do exist. Or it's a troll... It has to be.
This is so very true. Until people stop buying the overpriced and flawed products nothing will change. You could hate Apple for being greedy but in reality Apples extremely loyal user base has brought this on themselves. The biggest issue is iOS only runs on Apple phones, there is no competition for people that only want to use iOS so Apple have free reign to charge whatever they please and release new features at a slower rate. Then protest with your wallet. Apple does not care what you or I think otherwise. And expecting them to “relate to the people” is never going to happen. They are a for profit company. Hit their bottom line and then maybe you’ll get their attention. What I know to be true from the past that’s the most pathetic, is that a large percentage of the people complaining in here will be the first in line with their credit cards in hand. Don’t expect to see the change that everyone’s clamoring about while this is still taking place.

Reality check. LOL. If there's something else we're running dangerously short on in this country, it's a sense of irony.
Don't worry, you've come across with a more intelligent knowledge of the current state of affairs. People like that are just so loyal to Apple they will defend any cock up the company make.
The current price squeezing we are witnessing is a joke. All the thick idiots in this country that voted for Brexit have given companies like Apple the perfect excuse to rip us off.
It’s one way of looking at it, another would be that exactly the same conversations were had in 2007. People said all sorts during the introduction of the iPhone. So much so that I recall being able to walk into a shop on launch day and pick one up just like that.I think most people are upset that Apple has celebrated its anniversary by excluding loyal customers.
Means, most Apple users stay with the brand and paid thousands of dollars over the decade.
And what is Apple giving them back in form of the X? An highly overpriced phone that excludes nearly 80% of their customers, because it is twice as expensive as the most sold models.
Apple looks like it has lost contact to the financial reality of the world. It's ok to have higher prices. But it's a huge mistake to have obscene high prices, when your product has become average.
Mobile phones ain't what they used to be 10-15 years ago. They are like microwaves, everyone has one and they are used for what they are ment for.
Nobody needs an augmented burger circulating in the oven, 99% of people will use it one time and never again. Like fancy 3d tv.
People who predict a bright future for augmented reality should look closely at Nintendo. Their pokemongo is similar to what Apple had shown with the X and after a short hype it dropped heavily in user numbers and stays unnoticed in the app stores.
Yes, you can place furniture in your room and see how it looks and other stuff like putting a virtual Porsche in your garage-but it will just sadden you, because it shows you a life that you could have lived but might stay a dream forever.
Apple should have given something back to their customers. Like an anniversary edition of the 7/plus with maximum storage for the price of the smallest storage variant , available for 10 weeks and who does not order within this time has to pay normal prices again.
But Apple did not give anything to their customers. The richest company celebrates itself by getting unaffordable for most people. That is poor!
I've never said Apple are not ripping people off in other countries either. I've seen the price rise where I live and can comment with experience of this. The iPhone 7 sold below expectation here so perhaps we'll see that happen again this year. I certainly hope so.Lol so despite that our prices are one of the cheapest in the world and I’ve provided a link to an illustration to demonstrate that; you call those who present the facts loyal and thick idiots giving people the perfect excuse to rip us off.
Very interesting. I would love to know what you think of most other countries where the prices are higher?
I believe in a free and open market. It will balance itself. So far the competition hasn’t done its job much as instead of putting pressure on the prices they’ve been joining in to drive them up. Given enough time it will then be the consumers who will have to drive the price point down by not buying those products. That does depend on value and not on a political viewpoint whether to be part of one union or another as @Dented brought into the conversation.

I'm not trying to be a nice person.
