I like the glass back.
But, when you look at the 8 from the front next to the X or the Galaxy the iPhone 8 looks dated.
Good news is you shouldn't have an issue receiving a new model iPhone and Apple will take care of the situation. That's why they have excellent customer service.

Congrats Keenan. Now *that's* how you fanboy!
Those who hesitate are lost. The better test of comments is after the honeymoon phase is done and the return window is closing. Check and see how many (those are the ones who jumped on this in the first hours of availabilty ,of course for those people there will be a newness factor and justification of purchase when it is quicker and generally a bit better than what they have now) still have their new 8 in two weeks.
Sounds like the 8 has nicer things to have and nice upgrades sure, but is it worth the $300-$700+ upgrade or initial cost?
In a usual year, maybe people ride it out, but obviously especially now moreso with the IPx carrot dangling at the end of the rope in as early as 6 weeks. Yes it could be 3-6 months though, but if people get lucky or think they will and get the X fairly soon in Oct, where you’re getting all the new features of the 8/8+ in a smaller form factor, assuming you can work with or around the loss of TouchID. In the next week or so of a return window, will see how many will decide and justify waiting for the X that are smitten today with the 8.
Regardless, this is a fascinating time of the year always for those that study human behaviour, thinking, psychology etc, never mind marketing, on how people react, justify, decide, rationalize, get caught up in needing the newest and best, and watching their financial will power take a backseat to it all (or not)...and those who also expect Apple (ie those saying, “well they end to have the 8 because otherwise we would all have to wait until the X comes out”) to have a new phone out in Sept like clockwork, no matter what, are a whole other subject.
Mine too awesome!Loving my 8 Plus so far. No regrets, not in a month, not in a year.
In a case, nopeGlass back = fingerprint magnet
I love my 256GB 8. Been playing with it all day.Congrats to all who got a new one today!
I have a clear back case so I get to enjoy the look of the glass back without the smudges.fourthtunz said:In a case, nope
Surprise. Person who purchases £800 phone is also pleased with spending £800 on said phone.
How about the people who haven’t bought it? Balance the article maybe?
Makes sense. So an article about iPhone 8 first impressions.. should feature users who refused to get it. Got it.
Played with it at the store? Sorry not the same.I guess if people liked the ip6/7, what's to hate about the 8? They are practically the same with some very minor upgrades. Was at the Apple store today to play w/ it.. Really didn't see much difference to drop 700 to upgrade. Meh, wasn't impressed.
Crazy how different your impression of something can be when you actually use it.Played with it at the store? Sorry not the same.
You didn't buy it, no story. Nothing to see here folks, move along.
In other news, we who bought it and have tried it for a while and OWN it, love it! end of story!
Heh, really!Crazy how different your impression of something can be when you actually use it.![]()
Na it's the only iPhone I want. OLED screens is one reason why I love my Note 8. If I can get an iPhone x I'll jump all over it. Otherwise the 8 isn't worth it IMHO.Nope. I think the people who will be waiting months for X might have regret-gate.
Send it back!Love my 8 plus however, one of my back corners the glass is coming apart from the case. Its not seemless and felt like it was going to cut me. There is a visible gap in one corner only. Sigh.
You spend more on dog food a month than I spend on my 8+!I'm passing on the new models after considering my "wants" vs "needs". Spending a thousand dollars for a new phone which doesn't offer me the differences my first iPhone (4S) did over a BB Curve seems a bit crazy. I'll stick with my trusty old 6 Plus until the battery won't hold enough charge.

"I tried it in the store"
Like we as Iphone users don't know the difference?
