EST US - FedEx Delivery Exception

2 minutes remaining! Installing now. If you get the exception CALL FEDEX the driver said she wouldn't deliver it if I didn't call
 
mine still says that it'll be delivered by 10:30 am, even though thats an hour ago. i wouldn't be so upset if i would've woken up with an exception. or a change to 3pm. it was on the truck for delivery as of 8:15am this morning. and nada. no change.

just frustrating. and its not like this came out of anywhere. i'm sure apple has special terms and conditions with fedex. why wouldn't they have some extra people staffed for this morning? or would that just make some extra sense?
 
arg same thing happened to me here in Sacramento, CA. Mine now says deliver by 5pm. I too decided to stay up all night waiting for it since I was up half the night anyways. I'm very tempted to take a nap till this afternoon but of course if I do they will come and leave before i can get to the door or not ring the doorbell so i sleep right through it. Looks like I wont be installing leopard today as I'll be to damn tired ;)

Same deal here. I've had a 10:30 AM EST delivery time since last night, and it is now 12:30 PM.

I still don't have an exception. It has just been sitting in the "dest sort facility" in Philly since 9:08 AM. I'm a freakin 15 minute drive... what's the deal?
 
Delay Exception explanation

Leopard just arrived, and I talked with the FedEx guy.

He said that Apple had authorized (not requested) delays beyond the 10:30am time because of the quantity going out. They had to do this because if FedEx couldn't meet the delivery time, there's penalties.

as per the fed-ex website mine was delivered(left at the front door) at noon here in Long Island NY
 
Called FedEx, seems like they have a "canned script" they're now using on all Leopard order calls as it was pretty clear to me from my call center days that she was reading right off a piece of paper. I was told that Apple and FedEx are working hard to ensure that all packages would be delivered by today as expected. So I specifically asked her to verify that I would receive mine by the stated time of 7pm and she said yes I would. We'll see.

Seems to me like Apple might get caught over-promising with this one though given the volume that FedEx is apparently handling for this rollout. Honestly instead of pissing people off with either having to take off longer from work or perhaps not getting it until after the 26th, really would have been better for them to only release it at the stores at 6pm and after that allow orders online.
 
it dosent offically get released until 6PM so i dont know why everyone is getting so pissy about it already, chill...

Delivered

but a buddy of mine who pre-ordered panther like this said that when it was shipped it had a big sticker on it saying do no deliver until 6pm and just after 6 a fedex truck pulled up, the guy wasent their regular driver, and he asked what the deal was casue it was the only thing on the truck...so like i said..chill people.
 
I have the same message as the OP. This sucks. I wonder what it means.
 
At least you guys are lucky, FedEx lost my package. They still don't know what happened to it after it arrived in Indianapolis.

Notice that it still has the Estimated delivery for today at 10:30am. The tracking department called me and informed me that it will NOT be delivered today and that they're still looking for it. :mad:

no it gets released today. and people are pissy because fedex says "by 10:30 am" and then doesn't show and no change in status. its frustrating. now if the orders had said "by 6pm" or "by end of day" i would agree with you.
 
ok they didnt send mine out until late last night, and its in pennsylvania and i'm in california, so my delivery estimate is 11/1.....wtf?!!?!?

Mine has been on a truck since 8am (the center is about 10 minutes away). The delivery was "excepted" and estimated time of arrival was 12pm. It is almost one and nada! I have to admit that I am a little anxious because I spent an extra $20 and got it from apple (rather than paying $110 and getting it from Amazon) just so I could have it today.

To anyone who has theirs- does the FedEx tracking sight saying "delivered" when it has been delivered or is there a lag with that? (I live in a building where the front desk accepts my mail. I have been down twice already and I ridiculous keep checking my empty mailbox. I would rather sit up here and keep checking online if it the status valid). Anyone?
 
Delivery Exception almost 30 minutes ago, just called in and asked them why my packages have a delivery exception problem every time
its getting annoying

She sent a request in for the driver to drop it off today sometime over the rainbow! I want my package!...
 
I just called and they said that fedex called apple and asked if they could push the delivery time back because of how many people were getting it today. I asked if there was anything she can do to get it to me soon, and she said there is nothing they can do. Apple has officially broken Fedex!!!
