So the nice man from DHL rang me, got my authority to leave by SMS and put the bands through the cat flap - all 8 of them.

It was dark by the time we got home, but initial impressions in artificial light:
- Dark Navy it a richer Midnight Blue, but closer to MB 2 than the original
- Cyprus Green is a much better green than Khaki, Pine or Pacific IMO. It would have been better a smidge lighter, but I’m OK with it. It makes Pacific look a touch blue whereas Cyprus is definitely green
- Ginger sits between Canary and Lemonade, closer to Canary, but a fresher, brighter yellow. Could I tell them apart in isolation? Probably not, but back to back I can
- I expected Spruce Aura / Vapour Green to be closer to toothpaste aka Teal Tint / Tropical Twist. It’s ended up next to PP on my band wall however
- My wife seems content there’s a subtle difference between Pink Citrus and her other pink to orange range bands
- She’s really pleased with Blue Black / Bright Mango, though I‘m not yet decided if I want it yet. I’ll decide when I see it in daylight
- I think Obsidian Mist / Black is my favourite, though again I need to see it in daylight, and I suspect I’ll prefer Magnet when that arrives, but it’s in my wife’s size.

We each got Cyprus, so only 7 thoughts on 8 bands.

I’ve re-discovered this thread having visited, I think, many pages ago. Fun reading your discussion – I’m guessing at this point there’s a hardcore / set of regulars frequenting the thread…

I’m curious, is there a consensus on which are rare straps, or does it vary by continent?

A bit of both I think... Is there definitely a noticeable difference between the two, beyond one being marked 42mm and the other being 44mm? 🤔

There is a slight difference between the two, but only very slight. My 1st Gen dates back to when it launched and my 2nd Gen still has the clear film on the back of the pin however, so it could be down to wear as much as anything else. 1st Gen is ‘inkier” perhaps.

You’d be right, but that’s not to say we don’t welcome anyone to join in.

There’s actually a thread down the page about rare colours. I only really collect Sport Bands (regular and Nike), and few of those to get things going would be Lilac, Rose Red, Ultra Violet, Mint, Celestial Teal, Blue Orbit, Light Bone.

I think rarity is a global thing - a good source of some harder to find options is an eBay seller in China, and most of us have picked up at least a couple there, and a good indication of rarity is when he goes out of stock on a colour. We hear of some countries where discontinued colours are still available now and again, but it’s difficult to get them out of there it seems.

pardon me for posting this here, but I suppose this question can only be answered by those with a big band collection and swap bands on a regular basis. The inside of the space where the bands connect on my Series 2 space grey nike has been slowly flaking off, but when I recently tried the deep navy sport band (that won't fit into the Series 6 it came with), the band took a chunk of the anodised surface off (both top and bottom) as I tried to put the band on. With that much chipping the surface now feels rough, and I wonder, will my sport bands, amongst others, get scratched, or even cut if I put them on the Series 2?

I’m curious as to how often you receive what you actually ordered from CEX, I had two orders arrive today, I have placed a total of 3 orders so far from CEX and every single one of them wrong. I order a ceramic watch and receive aluminium, I ordered a a cloud sport band and received concrete sport band covered in some sort of grease and oil and lastly ordered coastal grey and received 2017 grey 🤦🏻‍♀️ lol, how often do they actually get it right in your experience?

Yes!

There are varying levels of rarity but these are some of the sport bands:
Rose Red, Ultraviolet, Nike Blue Orbit/Gamma Blue, NikeLab Light Bone/Black, Nike Celestial Teal/Black, Lilac

Out of those, UV & Blue Orbit are my favs.

I'm still searching for Rose Red.

Ouch! Honestly, it’s pot luck... in the beginning, it wasn’t so bad because even if they got it wrong, I didn’t already have the band they actually sent - got some bargains that way.

Consulting my spreadsheet, I have 32 bands in my collection that came from CeX, but have returned AT LEAST 22 - I had to add a tab to my spreadsheet to track returns - that’s how bad it got.

More recently, 2 attempts at Black/White Nike ended up being Pure Plat/Black, one attempt at Pure Plat/White was ALSO Pure Plat/Black - bear in mind these were all boxed...

All their Obsidians appear to be Anthracites, their Cargo Khaki was Back/Cool Grey...

I have had at least 6 fakes, including a Milanese Loop

I could go on...

I recently saw they claimed to have Cloud with a Ceramic pin and Light Bone/Black and chuckled to myself thinking ‘no chance...’ - I'm sorry you got bitten by one of those.

I have my eye on a Grey Ceramic they have, but I reckon it’s 50-50 that it’s actually an S3 Silver Alu, simply because it says ‘Ceramic Back’ on the back...

Yes I saw that ceramic, it crossed my mind that they were picking them according to ceramic & crystal back. Oh well, time to grab the mask and go into town to get returned, not sure I’m gonna bother with them anyone but I’m glad that you have at least had some success with them 🙂

Oh yes, I forgot about the in-person returns I did before lockdown - add another six or so! I have found their postal returns to be quite reliable, if a bit slow. Which is your local branch?

Splurge-at-Apple-Store-day to deck out my new watch with some new bands to match it. Braided Solo Loop had very patchy availability, as did standard Solo Loop, Leather Link is completely out of action until further notice, wow, kinda wonder why this particular band has so much trouble at launch?

Anyways, I bought the following two bands, (might return one)

Iverness Green Braided Solo Loop goes pretty well with Graphite. Braided Solo Loop is so comfy wow, and yarn is positively wholesome.

Charcoal Sport Loop looks like it was designed with Graphite in mind, it just really goes very well with the Watch i think.

Hey there! It took a little longer than expected this time, because I am somehow busy with, well, the app, but the newly updated chart is now freely available to download. 🥳

Check the full release notes and download the chart as PDF at http://bandbreite.watch/chart

Yeah, hanging around here you see the same 10 people. That’s not a bad thing, though! Love to have a place for such a niche hobby.

First really grass-green band from Apple. And Hermès.

Like an in between on mint and spearmint. I love it!

Anyways, here's photos of two bands (OG blue and Light Pink)I tried with the blue aluminium Series 6 before I had to return it (thanks Deep Navy band).

This proves my fear that the blue and red cases aren’t anything more than novelty. It would be cool to have one as a special occasion watch, but not as your main device. They clash with so many bands.
