Man that is a very tough question. I think I’d have to go with yellow on the ceramic

Thanks for the pic. My phone is in a leather case all the time - I don't actually like the super-shiny flat edge look, though my Midnight Green ran naked its whole life so I could see the green SS. It actually looks a bit light to me in some lights, and to my eye in the photo above the Watch looks like it could be darker.

I'm thinking it's very hard to photo and it's a finish that can go from looking quite dark to almost silver depending on the light, and with one being flat and the other curved it's pretty difficult to get the light right.
 
Oh boy, I’ve fallen behind. Perhaps it was because of the oh-so-exciting run I’ve been on.

Friday: Black sport loop. I actually like this one. I remember picking it up at the Apple Store in Fashion Show in Vegas, with the staffer cautioning me that it wasn’t “black black” and there were other colours in it as well.

Saturday - white check. I really do like the check family. Have I mentioned that before?

Sunday - Gray sport band. Yeah... not the most exciting band.

And today, Dark Olive sport loop. The check woven is decidedly the best of the Dark Olive family, IMHO. Loop’s kinda boring.

For me it depends what it is, and how nice the leather looks when new. I'm not excited for my Fauve Barenia to pick up patina, but after trying to decide between black and Saddle Brown for my 12 Pro Max case I went Saddle. Part of the reason I couldn't decide is the awful period when it's new and looks like it's a phone-shaped lump of clay.

I had a Saddle one for my X that I used in rotation with a black for almost 2 years, and it was probably too patinated for my taste by the end, but after a few weeks it started to take on some nice tones and it looked really good after that until near the end.

Black on the other hand looked like the day I bought it right to the end. It was probably used half as much I guess as I considered the brown more casual for weekends or casual Friday as well as using it half the time the other four days of the week, but black didn't wear in at all.

I'm pretty sure the new case has less attractive grain than the X one though - it really looks like it could be made of hard plastic with a fine texture on it rather than actual leather. I hope it is going to patinate over time.

I picked up a product red leather case to go with my red 7p, and I’ve used it almost daily (sometimes I’ll switch to the white silicone case) for a few months now. I’ve only had it long enough to start breaking in the corners and edges. The back still looks pretty new.

I think I like the patina on a case, but not as much on the bands.

Yeah the picture is almost useless. My take was based more on just quickly looking at the Graphite phone (not mine so one of my few fleeting impressions) and then comparing it my memory of the watch from twenty mins before. I also need to see a comparison of the 2020 gold steels.

Yeah, that looks good. I did wonder about getting the red leather one, but my wife got the PRed Mini so I thought I'd stay different after a year with two Midnight Greens (which I got very bored of, hence not even considering Midnight Pacific Blue).
