„Last, Kuo predicted that the "new Apple Watch shipment's momentum in 2021 will benefit from innovative health management functions and improved form factor design“
Sooo we got the first rumour of a new design for the S7 ... who is scared now that all our bands won‘t fit anymore?
I feel like a redesign is inevitable, which sucks for us collectors...but i rather not think of it. If it does happen ill keep a copy of the last apple watch with the 2015-x band design to be able to continue using my collection
I’m not worried. Some good reasoning around new band styles was posted above, but also there is no need to change, and Apple doesn’t obsolete things for the sake of it.
I know there was gnashing of teeth when the dock connector was replaced by Lightning, but looking back that 30-pin connector was horrible, as well as having limited capabilities.
I wasn’t around for MagSafe to MagSafe 2 (real MagSafe, not the new reboot of the name for phones), but I assume it added some value, and there was an adapter available.
Thunderbolt replacing MagSafe 2 was for functional benefit. Personally I never liked the whole magnetic power cable thing in the first place, but I accept some people might see that part as a functional loss. It standardized the power port to be a much more capable overall interface though.
The current band connector works really well and it doesn’t compromise the Watch design so far as I can see,so I don’t think they will change it unless that situation changes.
