Probably won't skip the 7. My wife and I are in the market for an upgrade this year and that will be a good one for us. Better than buying old technology.

I keep telling myself I won't upgrade to this phone, because I don't want to lose the headphone jack and that I'm pretty happy with my 6. But...

The camera is the big wildcard. There's a lot of rumors that this phone will have a phenomenal leap in camera quality, and my phone's camera is a BIG DEAL for me because I love photography and always have my phone on me.

It may well be worth giving up the headphone jack.

I use an iPhone 6 & the camera is fine. Occasional post processing if needed with an app

Let's be real :)

Just about everyone here on this forum will watch the Keynote that Tuesday, live or afterwards, watch highlights of it, decline to purchase it the following Wednesday (too similar to the 6S, the 6 they own still works great, etc), start to think about how great it is on Thursday, and end up pre-ordering it on Friday.

I've seen this pattern on this Forums. The 7 will be sold-out and many on this forum will have it in hand 2 weeks after it's announced.

It's just funny to me reading these posts saying they won't purchase it without yet having seen the actual product's presentation and it's features, just molds and cases.

Especially funny because we all know what's going to end up happening in the end. ;)
So True. I probably fall into this category way more than I'd like to admit. I too have sworn blind that this next one is not for me. (...and I really mean it this time!!) But then again, I did say that about all the others, and sure enough... well, er... let's just say, are you sure you haven't been spying on me? lol.

Though the iPhone 7 really does have more reasons not to bother than most years.

Camera is the wildcard as of its amazing will be hard not to buy it but if the bump is so bad that it won't sit on the table without rocking who knows

Right now I'm leaning towards note 7

How long have you been an iPhone / iOS user for?

I agree. But I'm going to need it to be damn amazing. I'm talking optical zoom, vastly superior low light quality, and possibly even better recording capabilities. Otherwise, at nearly $900, I'd have an easier time justifying an SLR, something that I've talk ones myself out of for years.

Since the 3gs

The 6s plus rocks a little but that bump on the camera looks like it will be a nightmare to leave flat. I'm hoping the real thing will be fit into the phone Alot better

Long gone are the days of being "excited" about a new release and the related hoopla. That ended when they started regurgitating the same design, and this time - when it *should* be a redesign (from the 6 to the 7) we'll probably see another regurgitated design just so the can "wow" everybody with the 8 in a year or so. It'll be too late by then for another wow! factor, as everybody else (HTC, Samsung, etc.) will already be doing what they will be selling as "new". For me - too late to be excited, and NEED a latest model iPhone, just because its the latest.

The 4 was the last time I was *really* looking forward to an new iPhone design. The larger 6plus was nice but the "excitement" ship had sailed for me by then. It was really just another phone because I left for HTC and Samsung after the 4S because I needed a larger phone and Apple refused to go larger until it fit their model cycle.

In that case I strongly recommend not to consider Android as your main device. You will get frustrated.

Why does the camera hump bother you so much though? I mean why's it such a big deal if it rocks a bit like it does now.

I was excited for the 6, specifically the 6 plus as I thought I wanted a larger phone. Almost 2 years later, the downsides of the larger phone were working against me and I moved on to the SE, which by the way I was also excited.

As for the 7, not so much, perhaps because I'm very happy with the SE.

Why would I get frustrated? My S7 edge doesn't move at all on the desk.

A phone rocking on the desk isn't a breaker at all. I'm one of the few who have defended the look of the duel camera/normal iPhone 7 camera.

However I can see why those would not like the ugly look.

The frustration I'm talking about is not due to rocking, it's more because of how the platform works. Long term iOS users are used to certain expectations and time and time again Android fails to deliver that, including the Samsung devices.

I really don't understand why people even mention this as an "issue", it's not that the phone rocks automatically. If you put the phone down on a desk it stays there perfectly stable.

However I can see why those would not like the ugly look.

Ugly is subjective, however, what bit do you find ugly on the 7 camera module?

My S7 edge has worked flawlessly, no issues at all. Android is far better than it used to be. IOS is still as better OS but android is still very good in general.

People mention it because it does look ugly the way it sticks out more than most cameras on phones. That said If it has stunning photos then I'm sure people will get over it.

I agree with the fact that Android has improved a lot on the UX side of things but I find minor annoyances getting on my nerves from time to time. That includes various OS specific issues and also how some of the apps are developed. I have access to loads of different types of Android devices for work and I find every phone has some or the other issue. It's never a well rounded package, if you know what I mean.

People like to moan.

It does have bugs here and there and likely more than os but nothing that is frustrating enough not to use it. There will always be lag here and there on phones but there isn't much on Android top flagships these days

Question guys how does the AT&T trade in work I have a line if I want to upgrade I have to trade in my 6s plus and pay a a certain amount. Do I pay the amount owe then upgrade them trade In the iPhone

I have to agree, especially with regards to low light quality. I almost always try to take natural light photos, I really dislike flash unless multiple flash units are arrayed for the photo. Low light is okay on the 6S Plus. Honestly, I'm not sure how they would be able to significantly improve it without butting up against the laws of physics, but let's see.

Also, you should still pick up an SLR haha!

If you're talking about AT&T Next, just take your current month-to-month phone into the store and tell them what you want new phone you would like to trade it for. There is an activation fee and you might have to pay taxes on the new device.

Read up on Att.com for details as the policies can change. Search "AT&T Next"

Yes. You have to pay to break the contract you signed for your current phone. That's the fee they will charge you.

Wait until your 24 months are up on your contract (verify on your account how many months you have left). You can keep your phone and do whatever with it once the contract expires. This way you can skip the $115 fee and just pay whatever it costs for the new phone you choose. There are a lot of options for phone and payment, so the cost upfront depends on what works for you. Read up on the website for more details.
