That would be great. However I think you're more likely to see the 2.5ghz in the base 15" and 2.6ghz in the top 15"/17". Unit costs for extreme processors are considerably more and they consume and generate more energy than would probably be comfortable in the MBP.

A resolution upgrade in the 15" would be nice. Looking the spec above the base 15" with an option of a bigger HDD would look seriously good value. 0.1ghz CPU and 256mb ram loss for $500 less.

there shouldn't be an optical drive nor an ethernet port.

Your CRAZY! if apple takes off the optical drive I'm going to assasinate Steve! j/k!!!!!!!!
Only the air should be without a CD drive. Pro users don't want some dumb remote disk thing on the fly or have to carry around an external drive. Remote disk may be great for the air, but not for the Pro. Think about what people use the pro for: Creative applications, Music Recording, Games, etc. all of which require CDs/DVDs to run!

And ethernet is still faster than wireless!

Calm yourself, killer. Nobody's going to take your optical drive away. Now put the toy guns back in the pram and get a grip.

Hmmm

I myself would like to see a 14inch widescreen or 13 inch since apple likes weird sizes macbook pro with dvi that can support a 24 inch display with lighted keypad, magnetic latch, and multitouch. Apple pops out with that and im sold :D

Yea, a 13" MacBook Pro would be nice.

I halfway expect Apple to do something ridiculous with the release of the new MBP....such as increasing the cost $400 but offering a "free" iPhone with it.:(

I really think the likleyhood of a 12" or 13" mbp is very slim. Apple most certainly dropped those sizes with the death of the powerbook, and the intorduction of the mbp. I feel like there's not enough demand for that size.

There is, or was, a ton of demand for a 13" MBP. All of the former 12" PowerBook owners have been dying for one! 13" is just the perfect form factor for a road warrior. By now, however, many of us have given up on the 13" MBP and either purchased an Air (loving it, by the way), a 13" MB, or are just resigned to a 15" form factor. Still, a 13" MBP would be a grand slam: a real "have your cake and eat it too" solution!

For one, I would like to see a 12" MacBook Pro with the same 12" PowerBook G4 design case.

Bring back the 12"

I think we should start a grass roots movement to bring back the 12" pro.

What I think would be really cool is if Apple would bring out a 12 slate, kind of a MBA thats not a clamshell but has a touch screen, and at the desktop could be slid into a docking station that would have the k/b/m.

ahhh to dream, perhaps to sleep

Sounds too much like the MacBook Air to me... I think the MBA removed any chance of there ever being a smaller MBP

I aggree. They're going to reserve 15" and above for pro and everything below that for consumer.

Agree on this. However, the chance of Apple to introduce us the 13" MBP is very slim. Imagine at what price point Apple will introduce it for?

We have MBA for $1,799, low end 15" MBP at $1,999, the black MB at $1,499.
If we have the 13" MBP, it's going to eat up the portion of everything else.
I know at the end Apple will still make a profit. But it's just too confusing.

Even if Apple decide to launch the 12" MBP, I'd love to see it with 16:10 screen resolution ratio. The existing 12" PB G4 is still at a 4:3 ratio.

What about a new MBP, a parallel (and silent) iMac CPU speed bump and as a one more thing new CinemaDisplays???

I hope for it!
