The warmer screen thing does seem to happen every year... I remember when I got a replacement iphone 4 shipped to me to replace a faulty one, and the new IP4's screen was way WAY warmer. Had to take a bunch of photos and send them to Apple, and they shipped out another one. This time round I switched from a 7 plus, which doesn't have True Tone, to a XS which does, so it obviously looked different. Am very interested to see the difference between the XS and the 12 pro I have on order, when it arrives.

I don't want to hear another person here complaining that the U.S gets Apple stuff first. It's not even Friday here in the U.S in any time zone so other than a big YouTuber the rest of us in the U.S have to wait until tomorrow. SMH.
Here in Hungary we have national holiday today, so we have to wait till Monday.

Sweet. Drop tests for sure going to start coming in soon. Can't wait to see how that ceramic shield holds up. Scratches at a level 6? Or 7? With deeper grooves at a level 8?

Every iPhones has scratches at 6 with deeper grooves at 7, regardless of how prone to scratching it is in real use. The 11 pro seems to be way too easy to scratch (even MKBHD and iJustine were shocked), yet JRE tested it with the tools and it's the same deal as always with the levels.
I guess what we need a finer scale, i.e. level 5.1, 5.2, 5.3, etc. to really compare how it's gonna deal with being in a pocket or the occasional fingernail.

It will be similar to last year's but phones these days aren't always, meant to be upgraded every year. Night mode on all lens for some is important others not

Think pro max will be the better upgrade camera wise

All I can definitely say about my 12 pro (as it's still installing the beta etc) is that it's far easier to hold and less slippy than the 11 pro was. It's getting a screen protector on it but I might hold off on a case for now.

Like many others have said, the Pro in blue is stunning. I pre-ordered mine in silver, but once I saw all the colours in person, I knew I had to get the blue. Luckily I was there right at opening time, so they had a blue one available.

5G may or may not be worth it depending on where you live, but the Qualcomm radio is absolutely worth it. Cellular, Wi-Fi, and GPS reception and performance have been comparatively awful ever since Apple switched from Qualcomm to Intel.
Wi-Fi and GPS performance has nothing to do with Intel modem.

To anyone who is concerned about the warmer display, this seems to be related to true tone. The display is warmer when true tone is enabled, but shows a proper white when disabled.
Here is a comparsion of my iPhone 7, iPhone XR and my iPhone 12 pro with true tone enabled:

This is with true tone disabled on the iPhone 12 pro:

It's not awful for most people, I have no problem with the Intel modem as with many others here.
I do think that the intel modem underperforms when you have low signal...where do you live you said...I've been long enough on MR to know that US networks suk big time.

This is gold.

Back in the Steve Jobs days, they would care about REAL innovation so much that they wouldnt even mention the leap to 4G in the iPhone 5. Sad how much Apple has declined in terms of innovation that they now need to keep talking about 5G

It has been ~17 13 (Edited) years since the first iPhone was released, back then there was still a lot what could be done to improve the iPhone, nowadays not so much.

So, you think:
  1. The A14 is not a beast.
  2. The camera is no innovation.
  3. 5G is just a gimmick
  4. Wireless charging alignment is not cool.
  5. ....

Also, warm is more accurate. I always initially prefer cool displays, but after a few minutes your eyes adjust to the warm tones.
