I love the iPhone 4...don't think I could use <3GS iPhones again lol.

Coming from someone who hated the new design from the first leaked photo...I have to say I love it! The Oleo-Coated glass is so smooth, the phone feels so comfortable to hold being so thin, and feels solid :) All the buttons work fine and have a satisfying click :)

As soon as i powered it on....the retina display, wow  I did a comparison next to my iPad and it was amazing :) The iPhone could zoom in on text more than the iPad and it was still incredibly sharp next to the iPad...and the thing is When i got the iPad, and was still using the 3GS...I was so pleased with the quality of the iPads screen. So that says how much of an improvement the retina display is. The only thing that bugs me is the apps that haven't been updated to display properly on the retina display but whatever :)

I love the folders, multitasking in iOS4. I only have two folders. One for Utilities & Games. I'm too used to having to click the home button to go back to the main page and selecting an app, BUT i'm trying to remind myself that I now have multi-tasking :D Its so easy to use and steve jobs was correct when he said that even though they were last...they done it best :D I'm happy that ipad controls are still accessed via double home click and.....that we now have an option to lock screen rotation :D The actual multitasking is great but the only problem is that I think it would probably just be quicker going to the home screen to open an app, instead of sliding the apps at the bottom to find the one you want. And if I'm in an app and I want to switch to one that I haven't used I find it quite annoying to have to go open it. Maybe its just me lol but i'm glad multitaskings here. Plus i can finally use my TuneIn Radio app in the background without having to have it open a stream in safari :D

The camera another great new update on the iPhone is amazing. I'm glad we finally have 5mp camera on the iPhone. I've had a 5mp camera on my old samsung from 2007 which is worth £4. 5mp is perfect for smartphones. So any future updates to the camera wont tempt me. The higher the megapixel means the more photos you take the bigger the photo actually is, therefor taking up more space. 5mp is perfect. The flash is also a very welcome addition! It works perfect and makes dark photos look great. Its alot better than taking a dark dark photo and having to put it through a image app to brighten it up and stuff to be able to see a noisey picture of what you took. The HD camera is amazing too. Kinda makes me wish i didn't buy a 400£ HD camcorder lol. I love it.

The iPhone certainly is a lot faster. 512mb ram in the A4 chip :) which brings it above the iPad o_O memory wise atleast! uses the same processor and has more memory :) while the iphone 3gs was fast i'd say the iphone is double the speed, if not then even faster :) However I was using an safari and it crashed twice...not sure what all that was about but apart from that hiccup it's been going strong :) And even with all this power, the iphone has loads more battery life. Haven't really put it through its paces yet but i'm looking at double the battery life  So even if battery life does decrease when i use more cpu/date intensive apps I'm sure it'll still have a pretty good battery life :)

The other features. gyro/iads i haven't fully experience yet, but did find that it was much easier to control the car in a Real Racing (perhaps the gyro improved this) and the thing is...I didn't really enjoy racing games too much because i found it too hard to control the car, but found it enjoyable on the iphone 4. again not sure if this is due to the gyro.

iPhone is a solid, nice looking phone. Only thing i'd worry about physically is scratches or dropping it. All the hardware is amazing. the front facing camera, 5mp w/flash, HD camera is worth upgrading to. The gyroscope has potential, and the processor/memory is worth it too. iOS4 is a great update with folder/multitask etc Sure it won't be perfect there will be 4.x.x updates im sure but it's a massive improvement over 3.0. Obviously 4.0 is out on all iphones/itouch (cant wait for it to come to ipad!) so everyone can get a hold of it but If your not sure about the iPhone 4, and have the funds to get it....then get it :)

You won't be disappointed :D

I'm very happy with the iPhone 4. If the death grip gets fixed (by software update) I have no complaints at all.

Have had the original iPhone, and the 3gs.

Love: the screen. The hd video. I've sold three non iPhone friends on converting now that they've seen my screen. Also love the ability to facetime although I need my friends to get the phone.

Hate: the known connectivity issues. Not only the issue of dropped calls, etc. but this also caused me two trips to the genius bar to try to get my POP accounts working. I've spent way too much more time trying to get this phone to do what my 3gs did.

severe battery drain.

Phone became very hot on the 2nd day for no reason (not outside) and hasn't since. I worry that has partially damaged the battery.

Also - occasional odd error messages that my password for the pop accounts isn't right although it is. And the inability to use many of the i4 cases because of reflection from the flash.

I love the phone and expect Apple will work out these bugs.

I don't think the speaker is any better then my 3G was. Me being a TL owner too I at times have a difficult time hearing and possibly even worse now with the 4 and I use my external speaker a few hours a day.

I was really hopeful a better speaker arrangement would have been addressed by now too:(

Seriously hard to believe that year after year this hasn't been identified as an improvement item. I'd be happy if the iPhone volume would be improved to just half that capability of all the blackberry's my company's have provided me over the years. In fact, I believe the in ear volume on my blackberry's could compete with the iPhone's speaker phone. Oh well.

definitely take it back! your battery getting very hot absolutely (+90C) DID damage it hence the battery drain and it will only get worse and can create an unstable state inside your battery which can be damaging to your health as the lithium will begin to flake and eventually exit the casing of the battery which can burn and/or poison you..

the password thing is an iOS4 issue I think, I never had that problem before but I'm having it now with it randomly telling me saved mail or wifi passwords are incorrect

I just buy new brand iphone 4 series. It is awesome iphone. I had experience to used iphone previous series but I like most because its having a amazing feature. The density of the pixel is 326 pixel per inch. The graphics in the iPhone 4 is awesome and it has an excellent color and contrast. It is really an eye catching phone.

I've had the 3G for right at two years now and it can be difficult to hear some callers when driving down the highway...even if I have the volume all the way up. Same is true for my wife's 3GS. I've had three company provided Blackberry's...ironically one on each of the major three networks (Sprint, AT&T, and Verizon. Anyhow in every case I can hear callers MUCH easier on the Blackberry's. Heck I honestly believe they are as loud at half volume.

Now considering as cool as the iPhone is that it is still used at some point as a phone, I was curious has the iPhone 4 made any advances in this area? I drive an Acura TL (not the quietest or loudest car on the highway) but I'd like to hear callers better when driving without having to rely on a bluetooth headset or the car's handsfree system.

On my iPhone 3g I could barely hear people talking on the other side unless they were screaming at me and I had the volume up, this was when I was in my room in complete silence. Now with my iPhone 4, I still have the volume up but I can hear the other person better with the new iPhone 4. So not sure if anyone else has noticed it but from my experience it is better on the iPhone 4.

Love the new camera with 720p video feature. Hate the square feel to the case. Love the slightly faster speed than my 3gs. Hate the fact that it can't be jailbroken yet.

For those who haven't jailbroken before, I guess you can see the multutasking as an upgrade. For those who have used a jailbroken iphone, I'm sure your waiting for new jailbreak as well.

The folders stuff is just ok. Not as good as categories, which we'll have soon enough.
I also miss MYWI which was used to power my 2 Ipads on roadtrips and car rides for my kids. SB settings got me spoiled too.

All in all, I like the phone, but it really isn't knocking my socks off like it is for many others. I'm sure it is the best phone out there, but it's still just a smartphone, not the magical device some see it as.

I guess if I didn't have an Ipad, I'd be using the Iphone more, but you can't beat the Ipad for general usage.

Love it.

Compared to my 1st Gen iPhone this thing is awesome. Haven't had any problems with dropped calls using the phone normally. The only problem right now is my imac that I sync to is home in Houston and I'm working in Austin with my laptop so I can't sync all my apps, music and movies to the new phone until this weekend.

I L O V E It !!!!

I truly love the iPhone 4 , my first iPhone was the 1st Gen , i loved it because all the cool features and touch screen which none of smart phones out there at that time could compete with , then i sold it and got a Nokia E series which i regret getting LoL.

I bought the iPhone 3G S 32GB and truly was amazed by the app store and all the features, quality and how its built :D truly beautiful. ( P.S i still got it and im not selling it ) hehe

And..... Now the iPhone 4 a piece of ART ! Excellent product from Apple , i don't think im ever going back to any other company when it comes to phones or even a computer.

But.... true there is the signal issue with my iphone 4 but the bumper fixes that and it looks good :) so no probs.

Enjoy Your iPhone's :D

I can't believe how much faster this thing is than my current 3g (with iOS4). it's literally 3-4x faster.

Coming from a 3G. Battery life is a lot better if you idle/lightly use (e.g. texting etc) and about 20-25% better otherwise. I used my phone just here and there today and it was at 70% at the end of the day. Old 3G used to be about 40% in the same situation.

Noticeably louder speakerphone.

Hands down the best phone i've ever had. The build, the quality of the screen, heck even the reception in areas where it was crappy before. I have already purchased 10 for our company.
My only issue.. the dang bottom left corner. IF Apple fixes that, I will be completely satisfied. :)

A little frustrated because my macbook OS is 10.4 so I can't sync with it, but luckily I know someone that has a newer version I can use. I made one call so far and it was horrible but it was at my house and I live in the middle of nowhere, so it's understandable... I barely have Edge where I live lol. I plan on testing it out soon with good reception. Other than that this display is just wow. My only other complaint is more with at&t, they barely had any cases, and no screen protecters. I just have this cheap thing on here and I'll be getting the otterbox as soon as they come out.

My first iPhone and all I can say is wow!

The screen, apps, and having a laptop in my pocket. I think it is a great deal.

It worth waiting in line at AT&T store

Just switched from 3G to 4 yesterday. Waited in line for 2 hours. It was worth it. I cant believe how much better it is.

Upgraded from a 3G and loving it so far. Haven't had the time to explore all the new features yet but the screen is far better and games run smoother.

All I can say is iPhone 4 is great the new Retina Display is out of this world I can't believe how crisp it is "INCREDIBLE"!!! I have got every iPhone since they launched it in 07 and this one is just as they say "the biggest leap since the first iPhone". To all who bag on AT&T I don't get it I live in Southern Cal and have had fine service from them since my first iPhone and I came from Verizon and have seen no difference in service. If you are not getting an iPhone because of AT&T I feel sorry for you. I know Android is good but it's going to be a long time before anybody can compete with iTunes/App store and Apple just keeps getting it right!!! You can call me a Apple fanboy but they earned my support with products that are second to none and customer service that all business' should strive to be like! Thank you again Apple and keep it up Steve Jobs.
Oh ya and thanks for my early delivery, iPhone 4 & I0S 4 are AWESOME!

It would be awesome if you did not have to use the damn bumper to make calls. It sucks you have to even buy it, and apple ********* new about the problem, and it why they already made it and shipped it to the stores! WTF, Steves balls should be cut off for that!!!

No, problems are not to be exepct. Your level of acceptance is unacceptable.

Agree 100%, wtf was Apple thinking, they new the antenna had a problem that is why pre-made and shipped the rubber bumpers! Cannot believe this was not tested and fixed 1st.

Help

I got a iphone which had problems and took it back to the apple shop who said they would replace it with a new one, however, when i check the apple account log in details it had someones elses e-mail address! I took the phone back and explained the problem and they gave me another iphone from the sealed box but that also had the same persons e-mail address, what is going on, any help would be great

Small Wonders

I haven't received mine yet, but I remember awhile back there was a list of small details that was made...a sort of wish list (Dear Apple).
I didn't know if any of them made it to the new phone, yet.

I.E.-Being able to delete calls one by one, instead of all.

More options for text messaging tones.

I know they are nothing compared to the other improvements, but the small stuff sometimes are nice too.

Nice to look at but not a good phone

We collected our iPhone 4 from an Apple store after waiting for 6 hours on release day. The phone is beautifully made and is a work of art. The controls and software worked flawlessly with only 1 app crashing completely (The UK Daily Telegraph and, yes, I am in the US). Videos, pictures and email work correctly. Wi Fi connection works well on both g and n standards. The high resolution screen is very nice and is extremely readable in most light.

However as a phone it is a flop. Reception is worse than both the 3G and 3GS (it seems to be impossible to hold it without loosing sufficient signal that the calls drop out or are extremely distorted). The proximity detector is not reliable causing unintended operation of some functions e.g. Speaker with your chin!! while you talk on the phone. We have not been able to purchase the so called Apple bumper case to see if it removes or mitigates the reception issues.

It seems that this product has been ruined by poor radio and/or antenna design. We have ordered a second one but we are considering canceling this if we do not see a fix from Apple soon.

I have noticed that ip4 is quite a bit louder than my 3gs was
