Got mine on launch day and have loved it every day!!! No problems at all, well except for the antenna but I use a bumper and all is good.

Screen is unavailable. Phone is SUPER fast. Signal is way better than the 3G. Upload/download speeds are way faster than the 3G. Camera is almost on par to some point and shoots. Whoever is complaining about this phone needs their head checked.

Loving the screen. I don't have the antenna problem, I'm on Fido here in Canada. Camera is blazingly fast.

I'm noticing that when I play songs on the speaker though my phone, I'm hearing things I never heard on my old 3G. The speaker quality has definitely increased.

Mp4's encoded for my iphone are crisp. It's like a mini flat panel in my hand.

No regrets.

I received mine Monday. This has to be Apples masterpiece. Simply flawless. I bought the Ifrogz Luxe lean case and to say the least, this has to be the most solid phone out there. No I am not a fanboy. There is no Antenna issue either.

Got to try this thing at the Apple store. I want one so badly. My 3G feels so ancient. The new iPhone is the best phone I have ever used! Want to throw my 3G in the trash, haha.

"My 3G feels so ancient." I could agree any better!!!!! I just love it how it is 25% thinner.

I played around with it at Best Buy today near me and have decided not to get one. It has nothing to do with how it looks but all on the antenna. I love the iPhone 4. It's extremely fast compared to my 3GS and feels better in my hands plus the camera + flash is amazing. I just can't get around the antenna and I have to buy the iPhone 4 outright which I won't be doing now. I held the phone the way I do with my 3GS and it went from three bars to no service in 30 seconds or so. I love Apple but I won't be getting the iPhone 4 even though I love the feel and the design. Stupid antenna lol.

Got mine on Wednesday, first iPhone, gone from 1G Touch to this so obviously it feels rapid. Screen is amazing, i'll never use it naked and only hold phones with my fingers anyway so the antenna isnt an issue. The thinness means it fits in my unofficial Touch dock, bonus! HD video is beautiful, i paused on a video of some flowers and it looks just like a photo.

Only downsides i can think of so far is the placement of the speaker, i keep covering it up when in landscape and when the battery runs out/phone turned off it loses connection from my wi-fi as i dont broadcast the signal, which means going into my router and turning it off and on again. Obviously i can fix that by broadcasting the signal or not letting the battery die.

Just got it today (8-7-2010)

I called several Apple stores in my area and found one that said they had one. Went down (only about an hour away) and found out that they sold out. I left the store and walked around the mall. On my way out I decided to take a quick look inside the Apple store and the associate I had spoken to earlier came up to me to inform me that there may indeed be one more, she was waiting for confirmation, and asked if I would like it if they did. I said yes, and proceeded to wait 15 minutes. She finally came over and said they had just one more, but it was the 32GB model. After thinking about it for 15 seconds, I scooped it up.

My first impression is that it is lighter then I thought it would be. It is as small as I expected, but maybe a tad thinner. It moves with a good bit of zip, but haven't added everything to it yet. Have not noticed an antenna issue (yet) time will tell.

I am happy I was able to get it as my glass on the 3G S⃣ is now cracked. It still functions exactly as it should, but there is a hairline fracture that looks funny.

Sound quality seems to be much better to me than my 3Gs.

Camera quality is much better, takes better pictures and stops motion better.

No signal issues, in fact the signal retention seems better than my 3Gs.

Overall, I'm happy with it.

I got my iphone 4 yesterday at the apple store regent street london, couldn't believe i still had to queue for 30 min at 8pm and more than 1 month from launch.

First i didn't wanted to upgrade from 3gs hearing all the problems.

i love it more than my 3gs for the screen (can't go back to 3gs screen) and photo ( now with flash) video quality and the new design. and it's faster than my 3gs. it's beautiful.

To be honest signal quality 3gs was slightly better (edge and gprs) but i4 hold 3g signal better than 3gs at home. (strange) i'm on o2 uk.

called some friends and told me that they hear better than when i used call them on the 3gs. I fell the speaker is slightly better.

i haven't tried facetime call as i don't know anyone with i4.

Previously i had the 32gb 3gs, they only had the 16gb i4. I might miss the extra storage size but usually I transfer some of videos and photos to my macbook pro.
I have around 9GB music. I wanted to exchange it today for 32 but they weren't any iphone 4 left at all. I will try the new covent garden apple store tomorrow.
There's another part of me telling me to save the £100.

Overall I'm happy I upgraded to i4 from 3gs (had the 3g also before that). i used safari even more now. ( if you read a lot on your iphone get the i4).

Hi guys,

I got my iPhone 4 last week so can only comment on certain aspects. Perviously I was carrying an iPod touch and a Blackberry Storm around with me and wanted something to replace the two of them.

Firstly, the look and feel in general are pretty good. It's nice to use and looks great. Other than the smaller storage it is an improvement over the Touch and I can live without having every song in the world at my disposal.

The camera is good and on a par with an old Nokia N95 or something like that. Not exactly ground breaking but 'acceptable'. So far I cant see the point in facetime at all! Wifi only so why wouldn't I just use my MacBook Pro and skype and be able to talk to anyone in the world with a computer??? Video calling is not exactly a 'new technology' so why apple have made such a huge fuss about it is beyond me.

As a phone it is fine (the antenna problem is evident but to be honest wasn't a real problem. Since fitting a case which I would have done anyway it seems to be cured) and fairly easy to use.

I use the phone for business and it has to be said, compared to the Blackberry it doesn't fair too well. Email on the blackberry is far superior and BB messenger is a great tool that I'm already missing (maybe there is an app for that??). I do like the layout of the SMS/MMS on the iPhone and find it very easy to use. But why, oh why are we restricted to a few crappy tones?!?!?! You can't use music stored on the phone as a ringtone like you can with the BB but it's pretty easy to make your own ringtones so why not the same for messages???
The apps obviously blow everything else out of the water!

Another thing, Apples adds claiming that their 'new features' will change everything annoy me. Video calling didn't take off when nokia (I think they were the first in Europe) introduced it around 6 years ago or when the Japanese got it years before that so why should Facetime. A 5mp camera is great, but the competition are releasing phones with almost three times that!

In summary, if you're looking for something to wave in the pub that'll make you look cool, that looks and feels great and that will keep you entertained for years to come then you need the iPhone 4. As a business phone however, I've found it to be somewhat lacking.

Reading the above back, it sounds a bit negative but remember, I still have the Blackberry and haven't swapped back to it so I can't be that unhappy! ;) A few minor annoyances aside, I love it!

No doubt, I'm not the first, or the last to say this, but the screen is immense!
I thought my 3GS' screen was of a fairly high res, but looking at it next to my new iPhone 4 that I got yesterday, I have to say that it's like going from a PS3 to a PS1! There's jagged lines everywhere! :D
Also, I've noticed that the speaker and mic have been swapped around. I've not never heard or saw anything mentioning this(either that, or I've just not noticed it in any reviews).

OK following my first impression, I loving everything but the signal. I had 2 drop calls so far after 2 days.

when on edge no drop calls experienced so far. (but it's always 2 bars or full bars gprs).
when on 3g always on 2 or 3 bars but when i grab the phone and make call after couples minutes drop call and searching network.
I still hasn't decided to sell my 3gs because i might go back to it.
after seen the screen and photos videos quality it will be hard. any advice guys.

Best phone so far

I was a Sprint and Verizon customer before this and always had extremely poor reception at my house. I usually went outside or upstairs to prevent a dropped call. With my ATT iPhone 4, I get GREAT reception (3-4 bars) anyplace in my house (except for the basement). This is the best connecting cell phone I have ever had. The other stuff is just icing on the cake! (I am using an Apple bumper.)

I think the iPhone 4 phone is really quiet. 3G and 3GS was too, but the iPhone 4 might be even quieter.

I always have push my ear with force to the speaker to hear something or say to my friends "speak up", it´s stupid and embarrassing.

Otherwise, great device! Not so good phone.

I just took mine back - the screen/camera and video is awesome, but I could not ignore the crappy reception and dropouts. I'm missing it terribly but I had to speak to myself seriously - it is my phone first and foremost.

I'm going to wait for the next one which is going to be hard being on a 3G, as they will no doubt improve the reception above all else next time around. Hope it isn't too long...

I hope I've done the right thing (still keep twisting my mind around to getting it!!)

My iPhone 4 just crapped out a call and I´m sure I was "holding it the right way". After that I couldn´t make any calls until I booted the device. This never happened before with 3G or 3GS. :(

Exactly - I was having 1 bar even at home where my 3g has like 3 or 4. Out and about it was up and down and I was holding it right too! I just don't wanna be tied in for 2 years with something that irritates me. It's only a year or even half if lucky until a new revised version comes out (I hope!)

Also this - I'm hard of hearing, I noticed the iPhone 4 seems to have a hi-cut filter on the audio, everything sounds like it's been equalised to cut the top end of the sound off. Because my hearing has degraded in the top spectrum I am very sensitive to noticing in that area. My 3G is clearer funnily enough

The iPhone 4 has been a HUGE disappointment, our wireless team at work is having a rough time with angry people wanting to give back their new iPhones. I have yet to talk to someone who has NOT had issues with this phone.

I am really upset because I do love the iPhone interface and I don't want to switch to the Droid, I just don't like the ugly/choppy interface and unsmooth motion of the UI. This iPhone 4 is almost unusable in it's current state. I drop calls soooo much and the email even after the fix is extremely buggy. I am also not happy with the fact I can't dock this thing with a bumper on it.

I wonder if Apple could make the phone speaker louder with a software fix...

Glad you like the iphone4, I share your feelings. However, with ATT - while the actual reception/calls are relatively acceptable for me too, it's the company itself that I dislike due to a long list of poor customer service I've experienced over the years. I'm generally ok with them so long as I don't have to deal with their customer service. Then all hell is unleashed. To demonstrate how much I dislike them, I assure you - I will pay my early termination fee (which is > $300 If I recall) if that means I can switch back to T-Mobile sometime in the future. I'd do it now if there was official support to do so... but... :X

Same here. I am with Verizon now and they are jacking me over big time. Back in June they told me the Droid X would be available in July. Come July they said August 3. Come August 3rd they tell me August 21. Then the idiot of a salesman tried to get me to buy a vaporware Droid X (pay now - play later) and he said there would a "good" chance it might arrive by August 21. Screw that. I am not about to pay now so they can use my money and I have nothing to show for it. In Florida there is a law on the books - it is 3rd degree felony. It's called "temporarily depriving use of someone's money. In other words, it is illegal to take your money NOW and promise to send merchandise sometime in the future. That's why stores like Amazon don't charge your card UNTIL item ships. It's illegal. I smell a class action suit here against Verizon and Apple. Apple did the same thing with the iPad. Bunch of crap these companies. Hey I like Apple, too. I have their laptops and desktops and love them. But as an operating company, they are screwing the people who are feeding their mouths.

In the case of Verizon, I WAS all set to lay down $602 cash for a Droid X - until the smartmouth salesman gave me crap. Now I won't buy one. Verizon lost out on that one. If the iPhone 4 is available in the stores when I go there I will buy one. The Apple store says a three week shipping time. And I am not about to let Apple use my money for three weeks and I get vaporware in return. Sorry for the rant.
