Just received my Touch today the sept 25.. ordered it on sept 5...(8 gig)... its a week 38 ipod with Corinne Bailey Rae on the front....so far i'm very impressed, no screen issues here

Got my touch today and can't beleive just how sweet this thing is!!
The only thing better would be if it could make calls.lol
So I broke down and bought a ipone unlocked on ebay this afternoon. Also went out to see if I could find a temp case at my local Future Shop and they still don't have any but it was fun showing mine off there.
If anyone is on the fence about buying ....don't think twice...you'll love it!!! Im Hooked!!

Why do you need/want both an iPhone and a Touch? Why not just get an iPhone?
On the other hand, unless you consider it an empty threat, aren't you afraid of your new iPhone being turned into a $300+ brick?

Just saw a post in the "Vancouver" thread, and confirmed for myself that BestBuy now said available October 2.
Words can't express how angry I am about this pre-order BS. Either an order is shipped, or it's not shipped. This "ready to ship" is idiotic. Wish I could tell them "ready to pay" for 3 weeks after I get my touch

I ordered 5 minutes after apple re-opened the store and i've been prepared to ship for 3 days... I'm pissed... I'm certain they did it to stop me from cancelling...

He didn't even look he just said "no they haven't...it's a new product blah blah blah...28th" AHHHHHHHHHHHRRRGH at least learn to pacify your customers and at least PRETEND to look. They gave me the same stuff when I called -- and get this -- i'm a W308 order from launch day --- ive been prepared to ship for 5 days.
I called in today, this AM spoke to a rep -- she gave me $50 off for my trouble so my 16GB touch with corporate + the $50 is coming in at $372 cdn.. Not bad.

Since Monday. I'm starting to think there must be a problem with their shipping service. They really should say something else than "It ships the 28th".Yes.

yo thats wat happened to me at future shop, i was gonna buy a ipod video but ended up with a creative zen lol
Several years ago I was going to get an iPod Shuffle so I pre-ordered, waited a few weeks and got increasingly agitated (weird - sounds vaguely familiar) then canceled the order and bought a 256MB creative player which had radio. 256 megs was obviously not enough, so I repeated the process for my Nano except after I got sick of waiting for apple to ship my nano, I went to the store, bought one, and canceled my order.
With the Touch, they must have learned and that's why they're setting us all the "prepared for shipping" 4 or 5 days before they send out our iPod so we're stuck. I'll be very angry when I walk into a Future Shop or Best Buy on the weekend and see stacks of these things

If that's the case, I might just have to demand that they give me a free return box and buy it at BB or Future Shop and make sure they get their cut for the quality service they're doing compared to Apple. It's entirely immoral that my, and other's, iPod is supposedly ready to be passed off to a shipping company but is sitting in some Apple warehouse in China for the last 3 days without any explanation as to why. I just hope they do ship by Friday or it'll probably be one ugly day at 1-800-MY-APPLE Saturday.
If I gather your meaning, are you talking about buying your iPod at BestBuy then just returning your pre-order Touch to Apple? It might be an option since you cannot cancel your order thanks to "prepared". It'd be easier to get a BestBuy iPod, test it, and return the BB unit once the Apple one came. Not that I am advocating this... but apple is treating us (pre-order) customers like garbage and I think two can play at that game. I've been told on more than one occasion that the iPod will ship on the 28th but not because they did any research for me, it's just a retort to get rid of me. Last time I called, I barely gave him my order number when he said it hadn't shipped. I am well aware that I can check the order online, but I've read more than one report on here that people's orders have shipped but the website hasn't been updated.
I became a huge mac convert last January when I bought my MacBook Pro (which I'm typing on now) and I've become obsessed with everything Apple, but I am losing a great deal of affinity because of the way Apple is treating myself and many others. I think Apple is in great danger of biting off the hand that feeds it because its main customers aren't the kids buying one iPod, it's the Apple-lifers who buy a laptop, desktop, a few iPods, and worship the cult of Jobs. By angering the pre-orders, they're alienating their main customer base. By locking the Touch and iPhone (coming soon), they're alienating more.
Maybe they're assuming the lifers will just forgive them? I mean, everyone that has been freaking out on here for the past two weeks seems to become born again as soon as their Touch arrives lol.
