Well if what the westworld guy says is true, then no. I am going to start another thread about this and see if the people who are still waiting are 8 giggers only...find a pattern maybe if the mods don't shut down the thread

So I wonder if the guy I talked to was on crack, or if there was a problem that was just recently found / only in some batches?

What did the guy tell you?

I called yesterday and they had them in stock, so I went in and lo and behold, they were.

Mine is a week 38 With Corinne on the front.
 
lol you guys really need to learn to scroll up!
WestWorld said the 8Gigs hadn't been shipped to them because apple had suspended shipment due to some kind of a problem with the units.
 
Heh sorry, it's a big thread.

When I called and asked they said they had them both in stock.

I went in and only asked for the 16 giggers (behind the desk). Not sure if they were actually in (I didn't physically see them myself) but the original call was only a hour or so earlier.
 
So what you meant to say was you have a 16gb not an 8.

This place is getting busy because i can hardly post without waiting for pages to re-load
 
Hey, just at Best Buy Vancouver picking up the iPod Classic 80GB that's on sale and overheard a salesperson talking about the iPod Touch stock. The units have arrived but they haven't put on shelves yet ... anytime.
 
The local Best Buy had around 10 16 Giggers (and as far as I could tell, only 16GB) when I went tonight. I was so enraged. I feel like returning mine from Apple when it arrives.
 
I maybe found floating face down in a river tomorrow for saying this, but with all these problems (including bad screens, brutal software, horrible shipping, terrible customer service, the Zune may actually end up the winner in all this somehow :eek:

Why didn't you grab one of the 16G's at BB? the credit issue? (ie didn't want to be out 450 + 320?)

I don't want to buy one without making sure I can return the other one free of charge. Plus, at this point, I might as well just wait for it to ship. Plus I'd be out 450 + 450. I'm still waiting for a 16 GB to ship.

Well I think we're all kinda stuck at the moment. Not like we can cancel. As I said, the Apple rep (myapple) told me if I returned it I would have to pay return shipping. This is the last time I ever order anything from apple's website unless I'm using the student discount (can only get disc through site)
 
I ordered an 8G on Sept 8, and it has been "prepared for shipment" since Saturday evening (5 days and counting). So maybe there is indeed a problem with the 8G models.

If there is such a problem, then it is really ironinc because I called Apple on Monday morning asking them if I could swith to a 16G (I had a change of heart on Sunday regarding 8G or 16G). Anyways, the person said that there is nothing he could do because the order had already been processed (i.e. "prepared for shipment" state). And tonight, it is still in that state...

Anybody with a 16g order stuck in "Prepared for sipment" for several days, or is it all 8G models?
 
I'm pretty sure some 16s are stuck as well.
I really don't want to spend 450 on an iPod...If the 8's don't ship soon I will fight with apple to cancel the order, or better yet, I will call Mastercard and tell them the merchant refuses to cancel the order...or tell MC that my card was lost or stolen so no transactions will be not processed
 
just to fill u all in, i work at FS and I checked the stock tonite at other stores. Robson, Coquitlam Center, and Kingsway FS stores all have 5 8GB's in stock it says. They probably won't be out on shelves yet.........:cool: ;)
 
Ordered Sept. 8, engraved 8 gig, order # 309.. prepared to ship last sat night, still "prepared."

Wish I could cancel, and just go down to the Eaton's centre to pick one up, but can't return the one I'm "waiting" for because it's engraved. Also, as a subway rider, I probably won't be home when FedEx drops it off, which means I'll probably have to wait another day after it comes to my apartment, then find a way to go way up to North York and pick it up....

what a pain... never pre-ordering from Apple ever again.
