Yeah, if mine still says Prepared for Shipment tomorrow I'll be tempted to swing by Sherway and see if they have any, take one home, and then return it when mine finally shows up (engraved).

You know that Apple makes you pay a restock fee on opened items. I know it's the case online and I bet it's also the case in their stores. I think it'll be better if you just wait a bit for your online touch.
 
I agree our dollar is almost the same it is robbery what they are doing to us and mine has not even been shipped yet.

Do any of you have a corporate purchase deal? I'm getting my 16GB for $422, at the minimum 6% corporate discount. On a macbook pro the discount would be even larger.

I'd definitely ask - Sherway is 5 minutes from home so asking is no big deal. FS and BB don't charge you a restocking fee, so I can't see how they can.

I called Apple let them know how disappointed I am because I could just waltz into any authorized retailer in Vancouver right now and get myself one. Whereas us, the royal customers, are getting screwed because we are all waiting for our shipments. Isn't that the whole point of pre-order? so I can get one FASTER then other people. Now all of us is getting them SLOWER then everyone else. What's the point to pre-order then?

This is such a bad customer relation management.

anyways, the agent I talked to could only offer to waive the express shipping fee, which is like, $13... oh well, it's not their fault but the darn Apple's fault.

Hey Apple, if you are reading this forum, make sure you can delivere what you promised! or else you'll just slowly slip into the position we all regard M$ as. Hey, you are already half way there with the iphone/ipod touch lock down, so why would you care eh? !@$#%:mad:

PS. what made me feel like such a jive sucker is that they LOCK you in with the "prepare to ship" status so you HAVE to wait for them to take their sweet time....
 
My dad just called apple. He told them that he bought it for my birthday so they said they would give us anything for 150 dollars so we got the new nano and we only had to pay 19 dollars.

thats the part i hate, if your not going to ship something then why put in prepared for shipment and lock you in, they haven't processed our credit cards so why can't we cancel :mad:

While we're on the subject, I think it is prudent to say that if we can't change the order and can't cancel it, I don't think there's a way to upgrade our shipping. I think they're just telling us what we want to hear because once they are prepared, I doubt they have any control.

But then again (and by the way) my shipping status remains "shipped by 28" but my "delivered by" has changed from 9-11 to 2-5 whatever that means.

D'oh you got 150? I thought she was going to give me max $60...but I got the cables that I wanted / will probably use. The expensive headphones will just break after a few weeks anyway. Free (almost) Nano would have been nice too though
 
FedEx works 24/7/365 right? Is there a chance the iPods could ship out during the weekend? I seem to remember receiving my MacBook on a saturday...

I believe so because MY IPT SHIPPED AS OF 03:18AM ****ING RIGHT!

Oh yeah... ordered on the 8th and 16gb engraved... delivers by oct 2nd!!!!!!
 
Mine says shipped from Apple, but FedEx only says they received the shipment data at 5:46 am. There's no estimate of arrival on either site currently. At least I have another site to follow and refresh constantly now!
 
it's like 9 in the morning saturday and mine still says prepared to ship, anyone else stuck in this boat. I order on the 15th.
 
just got off the phone, the csr said it would most likely ship on monday or tuesday all i got was the expedited shipping. Apple is horrible why lock me into my order for over a week when your not shipping. I'm going to call my cc company and said i misplace my credit card, since i've only used it once this past month to purchase this touch. SCREW APPLE

Don't do that. If you try and sneak out of a cc charge that way, you are going to be in a world of pain when they do an investigation to see who bought an iPod using your CC #.

seems strange stuck in prepared for shipment for almost a week, and i call and compain and it ships like 5 minute later

Are we all going to get the "transmitted to FedEx" thing for the next 3 days now?

Order W311 as of Sept 13.

Where can I find the Serial#? People have repeatedly said click on "invoices" in the account screen, but that shows me the same thing as when I click any other button (track package, order status, etc). Just curious what wek mine is.
 
Mine also just shipped. It seems like they told fedex on friday "hey we have a thousands of iPod touches to be picked up", Fedex "We'll do it tomorrow" and now they have. Still stupid that it didn't ship yesterday tho.
 
Well we don't know if it actually shipped yet, or if they just attached / printed the shipping labels. They still say data transmitted which is vague and doesn't mean anything specific. Still, I'm blaming all the problems on Apple, and not FedEx.

Edit: figured out the invoice deal... week 38!
 
Well I ordered on Sept 23 and mine has changed to shipped but according to my serial number my Touch is a week 36?? Doesn't sound good.
