both u guys, since the Package was received after FedEx cut off(same problem I had) this means that your package will not ship until the enxt available plane leaves China, on Monday or MAYBE Sunday night. Problem is, Chinese holiday, the Dept. I called said there would defnately be a delay, but he wasnt sure forexactly how long. I had the same problem, but I don't understand why yours says left origin. But if the status doesn't say shipment exception, then you should be good.

So I just got off the phone with Apple again and actually got some help.
The girl said that here computer shows that my Touch should be delivered on Weds. She thinks it's stupid that they take the delivery date off the Apple site once it's ordered.
She also refunded my shipping charge since it will not make it as promised.
She had no idea about any Chinese holiday.
She did however give me her extension number and work hours and told me that if my touch is not delivered on Weds. to call and she will "Make it right".
I like the sounds of that.

It means that the people at Apple are a bunch of idiots who promised to ship an item the weekend before Chinese holiday (lasting an entire week) and that they know now that there is NO WAY that your item is arriving in 3 business days after the status changed to shipped.

Did you actually read the email before you typed that post? It said that it WOULD arrive 2-3 days after being shipped, not any later estimates that they might've given.

Well, asside from my private plane idea, how are packages supposed to get off the ground in china if nobody is working? you need ground cres, shippers / receivers, and customs inspectors on the ground in china to be working in order for stuff to leave the country. Technically our ipods should have shipped out early this morning. Now that they haven't, they are stuck until the 4th because that seems to be the first working day for FedEx...and that's assuming the customs people will be working otherwise nothing will happen.
They don't say "IT WILL" they say "we expect...will refund (if not)..." that means we HOPE, but if not, we will refund.
2 or 3 days after being shipped implies 2 or 3 days after the plane leaves china. Nobody is going anywhere any time soon there.

A few stores in Ottawa have started getting stock. I called, got them to put one aside for me, and bought one. It sounded like they only had ONE 8 gb and ONE 16 gb, and they were gone within a day. The online chapters will tell you store stock, and if you call, they'll put one aside.

okay, well, fyi, I called FedEx international to confirm this, and they said SINCE THE PRODUCT HAS LEFT CHINA, IT WILL NOT, NOT
AFFECT THE SHIPMENT BEACUSE IT HAS LEFT THE COUNTRY. You only get that message once your ipod has left Shanghai, and it says:
In transit, Shanghai CN
, I got the email too, and FedEx.com says it will get here by the 8th, but I was lucky enough to get a free ihome out of it, before apple sent the email, no less than 20 minutes after I got the ihome. and it seems the ihome is already ready for shipment, and it will be here on wed.
If there is no Estimated Delivery on your shipment on fedex.com, then your shipment has not left China, even if it says LEFT ORIGIN, KUNSHAN, CN.
It must say :
In Transit, Shanghai CN

yes. the holiday enters that all shipments interntationally will not be ACCEPTED those days. Those that are already in transit or are waiting at the airport will be shipped out. I knwo the last plane from Shanghai, for me, was at 1:42 PM EST. So, most likely this week the ipods will ship, for those that are already in transit. Thats why when ordering online, although the touch may be prepared for shipment, it says 7-10 days to ship because of holiday. Rest assured, as long as they left Kunshan(picked up I mean) they should go out. Don't hold me to it if they don't, but most likely they will, because today started national holiday in China, and flights still went out. planes cant stop, but trucks can.
I think if anyone's ipods are shipping, they would have moved today.

Yeah mine has said the same thing 11:42PM since yesterday morning.
FedEx' site says china is closed Oct 1 to Oct 3 so hopefully on Oct 4 tings will get moving again. We can't really do much except grumble. Apple should have planned the release better.

dudes chill out . I dont like waiting either , and ive been waiting since the 18th as well but at least im not freaking out . They don`t fly on weekends from what Ive heard. Tomorrow is monday so they will most likely ship then. Be glad youre getting one

btw they do ship on weekends, since China is a major manufacturer, weekends ucually dont apply, or no one tells because technically today is tommorow in China, so when my order left China this afternoon, it was actually 1 in the AM in China, on Oct 1st
