Just got off the phone with FedEx and they said NO orders will be shipped until October 4th and delivered the following week. Unless your status says it left China then it will not be shipped until October 4th. No exceptions.

Just got off the phone with FedEx and they said NO orders will be shipped until October 4th and delivered the following week. Unless your status says it left China then it will not be shipped until October 4th. No exceptions.
Same here, I guess tomorrow morning will tell if our orders will move before the end of the week.
I pre-ordered 2 8g touch for me and my girlfreind on the 14th , it shipped (Apple) 29th, missed the Shanghai Cutoff ( O the esoterica), and Isnoop shows it currently sitting in Shanghai China on the first day of the"Golden Week". Talked to someone at fedex said it will ship tommorow , but perusing this thread I begin to wonder... Anyone else from Victoria BC lurking in preorder hell too?
They said that about mine to but I reminded them about the holiday and they said Oct. 4th.
Yeah , I also reminded and still she insisted tommorow . I just wish Apple would clarify this instead of the doublespeak vague consolation email they sent which essentially tells me nothing.
oh alright , kewl.
So yeah i guess our ipods`ll be stuck there for another while. Hrmm annoying but whatre we gonna do.
If it hasn't shipped by the time you wake up tomorrow then its not going to happen until the 4th since it will be almost midnight there.

Ours all say the same thing. For all we know, "left origin" simply means it was scanned into FedEx' system. The iPods were probably loaded onto palates and then scanned to prepare them (sorry to use such sensitive words) for shipping.
Best case scenario, "left origin" means they went from the apple factory to the FedEx depot in China. They haven't been "shipped" yet, and they will not be until the 4th since nothing happen last night.
THe emails we got from Apple probably mean an acknowledgment of the fact that the iPods are stuck until the end of the holiday which they didn't plan for.

I would expect to see some movement by late wed. night our time (that's going to be Thursday the 4th in China).
Not that I'm an expert or anything, but I am capable of looking at the world clock webpage lol

I just phoned fedex again and they assured me my package left today from china and will be here on this wed for certain. She was aware of the holiday and said certain shipments had priority and WOULD leave on Golden Week.
SO many posts... Let's talk about the real deal...
1st) Apple tried to ship out a huge load of Touches on Friday... They were sent to the airport where 5 aircraft were waiting.
2nd) FedEX started loading the aircraft with shipments... There were more shipments than aircraft, some shipment were infact left behind.
IF YOUR STATUS SAYS THIS..

YOUR PACKAGE is at the airport, and because of the holiday it will NOT ship until the END of next week -- PERIOD -- no exceptions.
I had a FedEX person on the phone today, she contacted someone and confirmed EVERYTHING i'm saying now, the person was conferenced so I heard it. That's not to say some FedEX person told someone else something different..
3rd) I called Apple to "complain" they wouldn't do anything for me (That being said I already have $75 in money off my purchase), the Apple guy was VERY apologetic, I was calm, he did mention I was the "kindest person he had delt with today" and that "If there really was something I could do to compensate you more, I would" Keeping in mind, the guy doesn't have a Star Trek transporter he can send me an iPod with.
Bottom line --- IF your says that for status -- it ain't moving... So it's sit back and wait time....

FutureShop was supposed to have the iPod touch today...and none of the stores have them. I tried calling because the "store stock" on the web doesn't get updated that often. They shouldn't have announced a product as being worldwide when they can't deliver!
oh yeah... sept 8th order and still waiting like yourself b/c of the holiday now... I feel your pain...
an apple rep just confirmed for me the delivery date of wed , was aware of golden week and said their WERE exceptions. She and Fedex were very pleasant and helpful, she offered me compensation for late shipment (29th) but if it's arriving Wednesday as per advertised , I don't think I deserve any. I'm just happy I got one .My girlfreinds birthday is coming up and she is gonna flip!

DEFINITE not leaving before MID week at the EARLIEST, late evening friday at the latest... Delivery to Toronto Wednesday next week EARLIEST and Friday next week Latest.

im extremely upset, whats the point in pre ordering, if your getting the product almost two weeks after its released in stores. Horrible straight horrible, i call apple and there like oh oct 3rd. I call fed ex, it did not mae it to the cut off time it won't ship till the fourth, i will continue to call and badger apple and if my product is not here by the third i expect to be compensated. Apple is so smart, lets outsource and make our product in china and have a big release date right before its a 3 day holiday
Still no movement from Kunshan since last Saturday.
I guess this confirms what FedEx has been saying about or orders and not what Apple said in their email.
What's strange is people in other threads are mentioning a typhoon as causing delays and not the Chinese holiday. This is a pretty bad product release for apple.

I totally agree with you... I am so pi55ed off w/ apple. We deserve compensation for their bull****.... it's not professional at all.
At earliest, if it moved midweek (ie Wed) why would it take a week to get to Toronto? Same with friday to friday. It theoretically shouldn't take that long. And if it does, then we are in trouble because thanksgiving is the 2nd weekend of October, right? lol.
(I laugh because at this point I've gone completely mad in more ways than one)

it would have to go through customs so it would not ship till like thursday then it has to go to the states, and then it goes to canada and that takes another two days.
Horrible Horrible adn all apple can do for us is give us a measly 13 bucks for pathetic shipping
