Ordered 6s Plus through Apple at full price. Also reserved one for 9/25 for Apple Upgrade. AT&T estimated delivery dates were 10/13 through 10/25 right out of the gate, so no go for me with a Gazelle deadline much earlier than that for my old phone. We shall see how this goes, but the Apple app was the easiest experience again.
High chance that it will come before. And you would earn more on Craigslist.

I decided to go with Apple's upgrade program. I read that AT&T is going to charge those of us on the 2 year contracts an additional $15 or $20 a month just for having the plan. I am sick of AT&T trying to screw me. No one knows what they are talking about. You get different stories depending on who you talk too. Apple said that joining the program does not change my phone plan or my unlimited data. I like that Apple's plan include applecare. I would just rather deal with Apple then AT&T.

I think the extra $15 a month is the fact that on the next program, they will give you a $15 discount per month on your place. This is versus a 18.75 month savings with the amortization of the subsidy.

There is no extra $15 or $20 fee to use an upgrade if you are on the unlimited plan. Don't listen to posters here they don't always know what they are talking about. Same with the AT&T representatives. But there is no extra fee. If you'd rather pay the extra fee to Apple and not have a contract that's certainly your choice. Will help you if you'd like to switch carriers later.

I still don't know why people don't understand this. Pretty straight forward.

Yea there does seem to be some confusion. It seems like many people only understand the most recent plans and have forgotten all the years that they were on subsidized plans themselves. Many of us are still on these old plans that get subsidized upgrades that don't affect the plan's monthly cost.

How soon they forget. Not everyone is on the new plan system but most online articles talk about it because you can no longer get the old plans. I plan on staying on my old plan as long as they let me. It's by far cheaper, no confusion on discounts, etc than any of the new options and I still keep my Unlimited.

Are people not getting throttled after 5GB on ATT unlimited?

I have it...and I do.

I use 7- 10gbs a month and the only time I've been throttled occurred in July when I was at a retreat with 1,200 other people and ATTs towers were getting hammered.

I purchased a Silver 6s+ at full price. Both Apple & AT&T have assured me that my unlimited data plan will continue in force.

I don't see why the Apple upgrade plan would be any different.

I doubt I'm in the minority.
Just because you hear about a bunch of people complaining online about their order it doesn't mean the millions of others that ordered from them all had issues.
I ordered online, I got my tracking number and phone arrived at home on time.
Every year with multiple iphone lines.
Again it's your money.
If I'm saving $450 using my subsidy and have to use AT&T to order I will instead of ordering via Apple and having to pay full price for the same phone. I dont care if I have to call customer service if there's an issue or wait a few more days to receive it.
Im going with AT&T cause I dont think the above issues that "might" arise is worth spending an additional $450 to me.

I will never order from AT &T again and didn't this year. The past 2 years I have done it and it's been a horrible experience. This year I ordered through the Apple Store app and it was much better. They way I used to order my iPhone's. You may have a perfect experience with AT&T but there are many of us out there that haven't. I have unlimited data and it works perfectly for me going through Apple to order my AT&T phone.

I spoke to AT&T customer care yesterday and today, and was told by two different reps that you could still sign up for ATT Next and not lose your grandfathered data.
This is true. I have AT&T next and I am grandfathered unlimited data

That's your choice.
For me it's a no brainier to order from att and take advantage of my $450 subsidy.

I have it and I'm definitely being throttled right now. I consistently have passed 5GB at least the last three months and each time I get notification I will be throttled and they keep their word every time.

I haven't got throttled for months since the lawsuit went down. I get the text notification but still on full speed:D

Perfect, but you were attacking that person for not wanting to use AT&T and acting like it was the worst decision. To each their own

Not to stray off topic here but those speeds leave me in the dust, check this out. I just ran this test. I know 16% battery.

I've done the craigslist and eBay route before, and I don't find it to be worth the time, hassle and risk. I hope that everyone gets their At&t orders quickly, but last year was such a mess that I didn't want to risk it.

The text message said that you "will be throttled"? Are you still getting the 5GB hard throttle text?

I've been getting the new 3.5GB warning message every month saying that if I exceed 5GB before my next cycle, my speeds may be reduced at times and in areas with network congestion. I usually get this message the 2nd day after starting a new cycle. I blow through 3.5GB in a day.:p

The key words are "may be reduced". In SoCal, I've never experienced hard throttle speeds since the policy change. I don't get the speeds that Applejuiced gets... but it's not extremely slow (+-25Mbps).

I agree. I like the extra value of craigslist but there's a diminish return for it versus the time commitment. I usually end up selling to Amazon.
