Free advertising for Apple. Intel is only reminding people that Apple has laptops and iPads for sale. They are not going to convince anyone to get Windows PC instead of a Mac lol
I cannot imagine any kid being influenced by these ads. Intel / Windows isn't suddenly going to become the "cool, hip" choice of machine because of this. I saw an ad the other day similar to this bashing Mac's, it featured a very "hip" looking kid explaining why Windows and PC's are better. Nice try...I guess? The kids want Mac's, period. As for me, I started using them back in '89 so I'm screwed no matter what :)

Justin should have reached out to Apple and said hey guys, I’ve been offered this much by Intel...
He can’t do that :) His Screen Actors Guild union contract would likely state that he’s free to participate in any commercials for products, goods or services which did not directly compete with Intel’s products for a period of time.

I don't see anything misleading about this ad, nor any attack of the M1 in it. They are simply indicating the MacBook isn't a touch device and it does't fold. There is nothing misleading about this.

Do you like the concept or not is the only thing you need to reason on. Would I buy another Windows based device at this point? Nope. The last $1200 system I bought from Lenovo was so badly flawed even my wife nit picked it (she never does this). It folded into a "tablet" and all that other stuff, but it failed to do basic tasks without some major complications.

But again, nothing in this ad attacks the M1 .... or Apple for that matter.

Nobody is saying it’s misleading. It just has nothing to do with the capabilities of the product Intel actually sells - the CPUs - and it reeks of utter desperation.

Also. I got a Mac Mini M1 and had to return it. For some things is not as good as they say it is. especially when dealing with things that require heavy GPU.

If you required a beefy GPU, you purchased the wrong machine.
I needed one for video editing, and with Final Cut Pro it absolutely flies. Compare editing 4k footage there vs my 2020 last quarter imac with a 16gb GPU and the difference is night and day, the M1 wins.

First M1 buyers are the beta testers for Apple’s quality control team! Welcome abroad!
I nearly stayed away as well, however I am happy with everything so far.

I will also say that since apple has been developing ARM based chips for almost a decade or so, it is far less us being a beta tester of anything, and if the performance is there (and it is), it is simply a solid product.

Funny how on Youtube the dislikes are 1200 to 400 likes. I do not think these ad are helping any. lol

Meh, I use a MacBook for some things and a Laptop for others - each has pros/cons and I don't want them 'merged'. The Apple Pencil & Keyboard Case are always on the iPad so it's just a 'single' item.

Whatever floats your boat. For me, it's not *just* the hardware. It's the tight integration. Having my iPad means I can extend my MacBook's desktop if need bee too.

...and the ad never addressed the Apple Si at all which was the point of it?

Justin's pretty cool... I've had drinks with him in NYC at a piano bar a few years ago. Actor's are just people and it's just a job... blame Apple for not hiring him for commercials, not the other way around....
I just knew someone here would find a way to throw blame on Apple when this repulsive ad is actually trashing Apple. Typical MR members. SMH. Newsflash! Perhaps Apple doesn’t give a flying fig about this ad or Justin along starring in it and is not acting as dramatic about it as some of you here. Apple stopped doing ads against their competition well over 10 years ago so they don’t need J-Long. In fact Apple is probably laughing at how pathetic and upset Intel is. Good for Apple!

To everyone saying this is a desperation play and underhanded - this is EXACTLY what Apple did with the "I'm a Mac" commercials.
Yes, and that was because Apple had something to prove… they were tiny and an unknown quantity. Is Intel attempting to indicate they are a tiny and unknown quantity? Apple’s PC marketshare is STILL so small that Intel are more likely letting folks know “There’s actual competition to us, and we’ll tell you about it here.” than they are just touting their systems.

Hey I’ll too take a check from Apple or Intel, but who wants to bet his personal computer is a Mac? Lol

I'll give you that one. But flip-folding touch screens? Could not care less about that feature.
There's no need to get worked up about that, though I can understand why; you've spent too much time in the Apple ecosystem where choice is nearly non-existent. You have like 5 products that make up for almost all of Apples sales (watch, laptop, phone, desktop and tablet) with a few variations of each. That's it. Who cares if there's a flippable Windows laptop that turns into a tablet? It's a great option for those that DO want it. There's a buttload of other products that suits other peoples needs without the 2-in-1.. which includes MacBooks. Just because one product exists doesn't mean another suddenly disappears....

...then again, I wish phone manufacturers would stop being retards and make phones physically smaller, ones that actually fit in your pocket and don't need to do finger gymnastics to reach the top of the screen.
