Wait a minute... didn't the last Apple Keynote end with the return of the Windows guy????
Wait a minute....did you actually watch it? Nearly the entire ad explains the powers of the M1 and why Apple could no longer continue to make Intel-based Macs. Completely on point.

In four years we will be asking what Intel is. It will be the Blackberry effect. The countdown starts after Apple replaces every processor they use with M1X.

well I would throw that problem at Apple, choosing a silly form factor; stupidly thin to suit a narrative without any real ventilation leading to throttling etc.
Ah yes, that "Stupidly Thin, Silly Form Factor" runs EXTREMELY well under the M1 processor with double the battery life while keeping the chassis very cool to the touch without even using a fan.

OOPS! Sorry there's goes your theory out the window, because it certainly had nothing to do with Apple's form factor. Windows machines have the same problem with excessive heat, noisy fans and draining batteries. Thinkpads are complained about daily with this on Reddit.

I like how one of the first things Intel's new CEO said was how Intel has to be better than Apple, then a month or two later the company gives us anti-Apple slides and ads. They literally just hired the old "I'm a Mac" guy. If you can't beat 'em, join 'em?
i think they (as most companies) hire a PR firm to create ads and the CEO minions are the ones who green light the crap the agency spews out. CEOs only control money spending and other elitist nonsense.

Things like this are why I have trust issues.

What's next the Verizon guy turned Sprint guy will do ads for AT&T?
I know it feels like a rat move, and doesn’t make intel look good at all which shows how out of touch and desperate they are.

Not super keen on the ads, but I have to admit I don't see anything inaccurate in what the adverts say either.
You might not like the style of the ads (as I don't really) but there is more selection in PC's, Most gamers use PC's and his others points.
Just to say I 100% wish none of these points were correct.
I wish there was more variation in Apple hardware, and Apple would probably be leading in gaming if it was not for Steve Jobs (that's the problem when you have the head of a company that does not like something)
Perhaps "Inaccurate" is a safe word to use but in reality this Intel ad is 100% irrelevant. What does showing the MacBook and an iPad against a flippable PC have to do with Intel's processors? This type of ad I would expect from Microsoft. Comparing hardware makes no sense and the only reason Intel made such an irrelevant ad is because they knew it catch attention using that no-longer-relevant Justin Long.

i mean this isn't the first time spoke person switch side, anyone remember the verizon guy? can you hear me now?
Actually, that was one of the few switches that really worked in that they directly called out Verizon’s strength (its wide coverage) against its weakness (its pricing), with him asking if extra coverage was worth it to most people.

The earlier one with Clara Peller, was not that useful to Prego.

I know everyone is focusing on how powerful the M1 CPU is, and that is true. But the reality is that you do need a combo of dongles to do the job. Anyway at the end of the day , I hope the user should be able to choose whatever fits their needs. I have no problem with Intel nor Mac , as always both company want your money. It's up to you, the user to decide.
No. you only need additional dongles if you've not really considered what you want your machine for

Sure many are talking about it but that doesn't mean it'll translate into any sales...
  1. Mac owners will carry on.
  2. Gamers and Crypto people are more excited about AMD.
  3. Pro users will get whatever the company hands them, most likely Intel.
  4. Basic users could care less, if they need cheap laptops then they won't care about I7.

What do you people need a 2 in 1 for that the iPad Pro with keyboard and trackpad can’t? You said day-to-day use, so iOS apps should cover everything you need.
Just don't get this clamour for a 2 in 1. Day to day use? If you need for example two monitors then your day to day strategy of buying a laptop was flawed.

Mac is definitely better than Windows PC (with exception of gaming PCs) but Android phone is better than iPhone.
Mac is not limited and primitive like iPhone, the exact opposite in fact.

Before going to Mac, I had a Surface Pro.
Ever try and use one of those in tablet mode?

Try as I might, I could never enjoy the experience.
Windows is not a tablet OS.

I would rather have a great tablet and great laptop than an all in one that was decent, but not great at either.
Exactly. Jack of all trades = masters of none

When the dongle shows up in the ad, that was embarrasing to watch, so true.

I hope Apple rectifies the donglegate with the new ports in the new M1 Macs.

Yep, it's accurate. iPads and dongles don't make sense to anyone but Apple, who's collecting money for them.
Given a choice between having 4 USB-4/Thunderbolt 3 ports with two buses and 2 of them (with one buss) and some USB-A, HDMI, SD-Card reader, and an Ethernet port, I would rather have the former. I can carry one dock and have everything that I am giving up, where as in the later case, there is just no way to get the missing ports or buss. As for iPads, I stopped carrying my MacBook Pro years ago and now use my iPad for portable use and my Mac Desktop with a few extra large displays for fixed use.
Would still rather have just the Mac, but if I needed stylus capabilities, I might not make the same decision.
My BF gave up a Cintiq connected to his Mac Pro to use his iPad Pro in sidecar mode.

Nope, at our work of approx. 6000 employees, we have plenty of HP Workstation Laptops, most of them with dual and triple Display setup. Few of them even with 128GB RAM and XEON CPU inside, real workhorses.

Also. I got a Mac Mini M1 and had to return it. For some things is not as good as they say it is. especially when dealing with things that require heavy GPU.
You bought a Mac mini m1 and expect it be

Then I think you have actually proved my point! If you have 6000 employees with HP WORKSTATION LAPTOP. That is a contradiction in terms to start with! Sack your procurement guy as they obviously haven't got a clue!

No, USB-C is really only useful for adapting to other ports currently.
My external disk drives are all either USB-C or Thunderbolt 3. I have an LG monitor that is USB-C (and one that is Thunderbolt 3).

You know what's ironic, I just bought a USB-C keyboard and mouse, and still neither came with a USB-C-to-C cable in the box. Only C-to-A. If I didn't have USB-A ports, I'd have to buy more cables. But that'd make sense even if everyone had USB-C-capable laptops: even if you want to use USB-C ports, it's very expensive to get more of them once you run out.
The only way to get people to move to USB-C/USB-4/Thunderbolt 3, is to make it the only option on machines. Otherwise, we will be using the million flavors of USB A, B, Mini, Micro, 3.1, mini-3.1, micro-3.1, etc. forever. It took years for PC vendors to stop shipping PS/2 keyboards and mice.
Monitors also almost never take USB-C. Great when they do. I like having a monitor as a hub, but those are expensive rn. DP and HDMI adapters are always flaky. Good thing Apple is bringing back HDMI!
I would rather have an extra pair of USB-C/4/Thunderbolt 3 ports than a single purpose HDMI. There are many cases where I would rather have extra high-speed drives and no monitor (field production). Single purpose ports suck.
They need to make USB-C "splitters" (ik they're technically something else but you know what I mean) ubiquitous, fix all the incompatibilities caused by protocol mismatch, and put USB-C on devices like monitors. It'll happen with time. Not today.
There are many USB C/4/Thunderbolt 3/4 docks out there that do very well. The prices have come down quite a bit and they make it much nicer to connect a laptop with a single cable.

How stupid is it to refer to his previous Apple ads right at the beginning? It just says „Don‘t trust me, I don‘t care about the product, I just go with who pays the most“.

LOL........ 🤣

meanwhile Intel is getting spanked by both Apple, and AMD in terms of performance.

give it up Intel, your days are done. Just sell your chip business to Apple.

also, there’s a reason Apple never made a touch screen Mac and they will never will to protect Steve Job’s legacy:
I didn't have to watch this video and already knew touch screen on laptop is useless.
