Still better then Apple AirPower mats.

How do you know?
Maybe they didn’t release it not to end up like Note 7.
I would rather them not to release something that could have been dangerous, rather than having houses on fire

Lol. The “Face ID” they “bought” was the size of a shoebox. The “touch ID” they bought was not at all manufacturable in the form factor of a phone. You claim apple isn’t aces at manufacturing, but even with your lame attempts to snipe just a couple of my many examples, the truth don’t lie.
You are exaggerating and making baseless speculations.
Kinect was developed as a gaming accessory that is able to scan more than 1 full human body from a much higher distance then FaceID's limit. Thta's the main reason why it was big, not because there was a size limit for this tech.

Better than the Apple approach like with bent iPad Pros claiming it's within tolerance.
That too without any new innovation yet sending bent iPads, proven tech after many years of rolling out products like this.

and also they are presenting faceid and fingerprint scanning as some sort of groundbreaking features.
this is just purely subjective, some may see faceid as groundbreaking and others may not. personally, im not
getting a phone just because it has faceid

And this is why Apple always waits to put out new tech. They wait until they can perfect it.
You can’t be that ignorant, surely? I think Apple have a much more perfectionist attitude to their releases than most other tech companies I’ll grant you, but to say everything they release is “perfect” is utter BS!

If this were Apple people would be losing their minds. Channels like Unbox Therapy that put out all kinds of clickbait Apple sucks headlines all the time have been quiet about this. They only posted a video of them opening and closing the device 1000 times (over 20 minutes) and it being fine as some sort of response to the controversy. They didn't even talk about it in the video, but it was obvious why they posted it. Obvious fanboy is obvious.

Hmm?

Ok, personally I'd go H.A.M. if I'd preordered something which costs a whopping $2000 and see it being called back to "Strengthen the Display Protection".

This is no indiegogo or kickstarter Samsung.
Y'all got coffers filled with lotsa $2000's to spend before you ask us to spend it for you.

Huawei is a better design but needs a version 2 with a better clasp (no physical release button) and foldable glass to protect the constantly exposed screen

Yea I certainly felt it looked like a better design/product, but don’t know much about the engineering about it. I trust your judgement here. I’m sure both companies will be evaluating the flaws and quickly getting back to work in version 2 (I am sure they already well on their way).

Better than a $2000 phone that breaks in a day. They did the right thing.

“Release date in the coming weeks”. This thing will be lucky to see an August launch.

"We value the trust our customers place in us and they are always our top priority. Samsung is committed to working closely with customers and partners to move the industry forward. We want to thank them for their patience and understanding"

I like this part... Every other company says the same, to get out of trouble.

Not by much. Your only talking $20 difference.

I think your criticism applies to FaceID and the notch though. Zero problems solved over fingerprint scanners on the back of a phone,
Zero problems solved?

Scanner on the back is a clunky, unergonomic usability disaster.

You know this very well.

FaceID, on the other hand, is amazing. Apple definitely made the right call.

If this was Apple it would be on every news channel !! But because it's Samsung it's buried..jeez the bias almost makes me sick.

It's just part of the deal of being the top dog. I'm sure Samsung would love to get rail roaded by the media for making a mistep if it meant they traded places with Apple. The standard bearer always gets held to a higher standard... well except in Washington DC the past two years.

But the customers weren’t charged a single cent, right?

Anyways, I am willing to bet that this product will never be released, and this is just Samsung trying to make a graceful exit. Claim you are trying to fix the issues, watch the weeks turn into months, with Samsung finally releasing a statement saying they just couldn’t make it work, and by then, most people will already have forgotten about the product.

This thing is dead in the water.

Smells like some AirPower scent here.

A serious defect occurs during a product launch

Samsung: we'll fix it
Apple: ...
(2019)...
(2020)...
(2021)...
(class action lawsuit) we would like to say that although a small portion of a small minority of the users claim to have a so-called minor inconvenience with our product, the vast majority of the users have an absolutely positive, genius-like experience with our product

Nope. Fingerprint on the back is exactly where my finger goes when taking my phone out of my pocket, meaning it's unlocked before I even look at it.

I don't know, we've never actually seen a working AirPower(a true vaporware product) while the same can't be said about the Galaxy Fold.

What's funny if that you were able to post this in a main thread on an Apple oriented site.

The logic of this is mind boggling. Are you seriously trying to act like releasing a garbage broken prototype for $2000 is the same as not releasing a product? Let me get some of whatever you’re smoking.

I know you guys come on here just to crap on Apple but this is such a pathetic attempt. You can do better than that.

The second worst product launch in the history of tech. Only beaten by the disaster that was the Note 7.

Technically it wasn't released so your logic is invalid. They delayed the release due to the defects found with review units. This was just a case of very late UAT finding issues.

If you want to talk about mind boggling logic, the Galaxy Fold wasn't actually launched.
Did you at least read the title of this thread?

So you are here just to crap on Samsung?
