I know it's hard for some here to believe, and I'm not directing this at you, but it is possible to own and like Apple products and not worship the company and defend everything they do. It is possible to put oneself first, not the trillion dollar corporation. I also think it's normal to offer criticism where it is due. I am a consumer, I want as much for my dollar as possible. And gasp, other companies also make good products too and best Apple in some areas. I like tech, and there are a lot of intelligent people here and I enjoy reading and learning from them. Even ones I disagree with.

And if you and my other detractors paid attention, you'd see that I only post these things in this forum, not in any of the other forums. Also, you and several others never comment on the positive things I post about Apple.
I have absolutely no problem with people having their own taste, I like other tech companies apart from Apple also and I have never said otherwise (I know you wasn't directing this at me), I'm being honest as much as I remember but I don't think I ever saw you say anything positive about Apple, but as I said I haven't been on this Front Page part for a while so feel free to shoot me down.

I have no intent to shoot you down. I do post positive things about Apple, including in this very thread.

Apple will not switch to OLED until the technology has aged enough for them to put it on iPhone without affecting margins. OLED displays are very expensive compared to LCD panels.

They want to maximize profits for each iPhone sold.

They can always lower margins like Samsung , and then also fire a lot of employees in the mobile division, just like Samsung .
Or they can go with a almost free of charge os , say .... Android..? Like Samsung to improve margins even further.
They should even fire all of their software department and just keep some guys around for putting a touch wiz like gui over android. Stop software development. Even stop updates for mobiles that are more than a year old. Just like Samsung.
How about that, that would definitely maximize profits!

Actually no. Cutting edge technology means its not tested enough. When Apple sells 10m iphone per month, 6 months later they do not want to do a recall program on the faulty "new technology".

There are people out there that will always buy the latest and greatest, sure, but it shouldn't be the flagship product that millions rely on for business, life, school, and even health sector.
Not tested enough? are you serious? Samsung has been using AMOLED forever..millions of phones with AMOLED out there in people's hands.what are you talking about?

Samsung. I have a Galaxy Tab S with a gorgeous screen but Touchwiz is so bad that doing anything else but watching movies is either slow or crippled.
You can download the Google Launcher that comes with stock Android. I do not like TouchWiz.

Yeah I don't understand this thinking. OLED has matured a lot over the years and has become a lot more efficient, vibrant, and longer-lasting.

That doesn't help at all.

Only a custom OS like Cyanogenmod would get rid of the atrocious Touchwiz.

Yeah, but it's also evident that Samsung screens are horribly over saturated. So the technologically superior screens are sort of a waste.
They got it right with S6 and later models.no more over saturated issue.(although many people actually loved that.)
go take a look at Note 5 or S7 when you can..or S6..they are simply the best screens on this planet.

It helps a little. TouchWiz is atrocious though. I don't know why they don't just use stock and add some extra features instead of bloating the crap out of it.

Exactly. Something like what OnePlus does with their phones in terms of software.

And why doesn't samsung have oled tv's out now? only lg and possibly panasonic making them. With sony having the best oled tech but not pushing out tv's to lower the oled price. I NEED A 70" OLED now damnit
Samsung will resume OLED tv manufacturing from next year.they will focus on it.the manufacturing cost is becoming much more reasonable and final prices are becoming more afgordable compared to couple years ago thanks to LG's wave of (relatively) cheap and excellent OLED tvs.
Sony doesn't have much in OLED department, neither does Panasonic, but both have said they will start soon.OLED is awesome.

What don't you guys understand that you have the OPTION to change the saturation. I know Apple has got many of you accustomed to not having choices. However in Android land you can choose between a saturated screen or a true to life.

So no it is not a waste. This just shows how ignorant many iPhone fans are. Basing their opinions on Android phones they used 5 years ago.

Too bad the buyers are stuck with a clunky OS
Or, pickup a Nexus device with a Super AMOLED screen. My Nexus 6 screen completely destroys the retina HD screen on my iPhone 6+ and it's not even close. My iPhone has the better camera, however.

** Touchwiz. Go get a Nexus 6p or 5x and tell me the stock Android experience is a bad one.
I have a Nexus 6 running Marshmallow 6.0.1 and it's a buttery smooth experience. I can honestly say that there's absolutely no discernable difference in OS experience between this device and iOS 9.2.1 on my iPhone 6+. On Nexus devices, Android has finally reached parity with iOS. Fact.

My experience with my Nexus 5 and Nexus 6 during the years they were current was wonderful. Now using my Nexus 6 P concurrently with my iPhone 6S Plus, I'm still finding Android faster, smoother, more stable and reliable.

But make no mistake... I never bash any phone much less Apple. I simply report my first hand experiences. I use iPhone because I am a serious Apple enthusiast. I have consistently used two smartphones since each platform was created. That's simply what I enjoy doing. It's fun and informative. Nothing beats learning the truth first hand.

Really?
Apple users don't want the best display, we want a display that just works and allows Apple to maximize profits.
Really? Don't kid yourself here. It's a crime the amount of money Apple charges us for iOS devices that don't even include best-in-class display technology. Apple is simply milking LCD until AM/OLED costs come down even further to maintain sales revenue, and to ensure lower power consumption (especially with Johnny's silly obsession with iPhone thinness at the battery's expense). Apple fully knows that this new screen tech is much better for gaming, photography, video, etc.
If you did a device side-by-side comparison you would see it, too.

The only thing that Android bashers prove is how out of touch they are. By regurgitating complaints from five years ago, they're demonstrating ignorance and deceiving themselves. Living in the past is a very poor choice.
Don't forget the typical 'fair' comparison between a low- to mid-range $300 Android phone where corners are cut significantly compared to the flagship models to meet that price point and a brand new $650 iPhone...

Genuinely intersted to hear your example use case for an desktop like finder system in iOS...
How about emailing a song? Who says it has to be a Finder system. What about managing attachments, downloading photos from the Internet into *gasp* a different grouping than the gallery?

I would have preferred to just reply with this image, but think about it.
