What Apple needs to do is be the first to "something better".

Actually no. Cutting edge technology means its not tested enough. When Apple sells 10m iphone per month, 6 months later they do not want to do a recall program on the faulty "new technology".

There are people out there that will always buy the latest and greatest, sure, but it shouldn't be the flagship product that millions rely on for business, life, school, and even health sector.

OLED I can take, if its accuracy over time has finally improved.

Just PLEASE no Pentile!

So everything Apple does is a copy? At least someone here finally admits it.

This is no secret,OLED screens easily beat LCD screens, you instantly notice better color, better blacks, pleasantly vibrant and "alive".LCD looks pale, tired, boring with poor blacks.

I had an iPhone 6 but now own a Note 5, there is no argue the OLED screen is the absolute winner.

TBH, whenever I switch from Note 5 to my Retina iPad I feel like going to a decade old tech.(screen wise).

I did't say that, I said a tested technology. Sometimes a technology would be rolled out within a year of discovery(not tested), other times it would be tested in the labs for few years insuring reliability.

There were times when Apple released something first then others followed, other times its the opposite.

I really thought OLED was an overhyped, overpriced luxury commodity, until i saw my sisters OLED on her samsung, and after recently purchasing an OLED TV. Wow, the blacks, sharpness, and clarity are very impressive.

A little off topic, but i would really love an OLED-retina display on my ipad and Imac.

Apple doesn't use this technology on it's smartphones(yet), so that makes OLED another Samsung "gimmick".
And when Apple starts using it, "Apple did it right, it just works" lol. Current s6/s7 displays don't work it seems.

OLED screens are hardly cutting edge. AMOLED screens have been out for years. Apple, by now, should have the technology to make it right. Plus, it's just the screen...not the brain...the brain (and related organs) are what makes a cutting edge phone (features, etc.).

CHARGE $10 more per phone Most people will pay for the quality
Apple doesn't think in $10 increments. They think in $50 or $100 increments. What Apple does is wait for a technology to come down in price enough that they can incorporate it as a new "WOW" feature but source it at a super low price.

I know a phone is primarily to make and receive calls, but don't you do anything else with it that uses the screen? I'm constantly looking at my screen and appreciate how much nicer the Samsung screens are. My phone is my control center where all the external information in my life trickles in.
He's already contradicted himself several times. Not sure what's he's trying to get at honestly.

Thats how Sony died. Almost died but they lost a lot on top of the mountain.
I could give you several reasons why Sony failed and is continuing to fail but I won't :)

I realize that nightshift will help this, but is there a reason iPhone screens can't be turned down further? In pitch black they are way too bright for my taste and I don't think I've ever even had my brightness higher than 50% during the day.

General > Accessibility > zoom

Set zoom filter to low light. Now when you're in the dark just turn on zoom and the brightness will be lowered even further. Double tap with three fingers zoom out and view phone as normal, but keep the low brightness.

I haven't been on the front page section for a few months now and as soon as I read a post here, you are making the same statements as then, have you nothing else to say??

For some reason, I don't remember you. Did we trade banter in the past? I'm sure I must have said something else too, check my post history for the past few months.

Apple will not switch to OLED until the technology has aged enough for them to put it on iPhone without affecting margins. OLED displays are very expensive compared to LCD panels.

They want to maximize profits for each iPhone sold.

Well it's true, Apple should have switched a long time ago but it's cheaper for them to not switch. I don't blame them, they run a business after all. But they are maximizing profit at the expense of the user experience. If it's still profitable and people line up in droves for inferior specs then they are doing the right thing for their shareholders.

Maybe, I don't remember if I have replied to your posts before and you seem to know your stuff but you tend to repeat these Anti-Apple mantras over and over (I am not an fanboy BTW) but have never got why you frequent this sight if you have a major distaste for Apple??

It's not that I don't agree with you or AppleScruff in some respects, it's just a bit annoying when you hear the same thing over and over.

Also I think Apple have shown "inferior specs" as you say, mean jack in the real world and 90% of the normal population couldn't give a toss about specs, me included.

Well, you tend to hear things that are true often. What he said is true, no less true if repeated often. As for inferior specs meaning jack in the real world, I completely agree. That's why I said Apple is smart, consumers line up in droves regardless of where they cut corners or went with inferior technology. I've always thought of Apple as one of the smartest companies ever.

I know it's hard for some here to believe, and I'm not directing this at you, but it is possible to own and like Apple products and not worship the company and defend everything they do. It is possible to put oneself first, not the trillion dollar corporation. I also think it's normal to offer criticism where it is due. I am a consumer, I want as much for my dollar as possible. And gasp, other companies also make good products too and best Apple in some areas. I like tech, and there are a lot of intelligent people here and I enjoy reading and learning from them. Even ones I disagree with.

And if you and my other detractors paid attention, you'd see that I only post these things in this forum, not in any of the other forums. Also, you and several others never comment on the positive things I post about Apple.

Fair enough.

Untill they use OLED. Typical  fanboy answer.
