The original post I replied to, not to him, which was claiming that Apple outsells Samsung YEARLY, is all I was fixing. No misunderstanding on my part at all.

Below is my post, notice I said any Samsung phone, not phone(s) or ALL phones. I fully understand that Samsung sells a ton of phones. They just can't create one flagship phone that can outsell a current or year behind iPhone.

And yet more people buy iPhones every year than any Samsung phone. I think their design, services, and OS are doing just fine.

True, all definitions are personal and none are 'right' or 'wrong' in an absolute sense.

So let me clarify. I define crippled not by what you can do with the device, but what you cannot do, or by what a device lacks in both hardware and software:

The iPhone lacks a headphone jack.
The iPhone lacks microSD expansion.
The iPhone lacks a 'back' button.
The iPhone (iOS) lacks mouse support.
The iPhone (iOS) lacks filesystem access.
The iPhone (iOS) lacks UI customization.
The iPhone (iOS) lacks an ability to close all apps (not one at a time)

Conversely:
The Android (high-end) devices lack 3DT (although it doesn't stop you from doing something).
Everything else has equivalents in the Android world.
I'm glad you clarified not being right or wrong in an absolute sense as this is a personal viewpoint.

However none of what you listed prevents me from doing my stuff on an iPhone.

The S8 did not ship with voice Bixby because it ins't ready. Google Assistant wont work with the phone locked and I can't activate it just by pressing the voice button on the steering wheel like I can Siri. It really does suck. I guess Samsung users are just accustomed to crappy voice control or install apps to work around it.

Ok, so you're saying that Siri isn't crappy? All voice control is subject to issues, but Google Assistant has been pretty good and renowned to be so.

That said, if you like Siri and it's what's been working for you, then you why did you switch? Sounds like that feature is your primary reason for owning the device. Go back.

Again, he wasn't the OP I replied too. Stop wasting my time. Seriously. My point still stands.

Your point that Samsung as a whole sells more phones than Apple does still stand, it always has. However, you refuting what DNichter said does not. And yes, he is the OP you replied to. It's very easy for anyone to see that, including yourself.

So, just to wrap things up: DNichter was the OP you replied to. The iPhone 6s,7,7+, and 6s+ all outsell any Samsung phone. Samsung sells more phones than Apple.

Good chat!

Agreed.

So as long as you don't need to walk, you don't need your legs. Doesn't mean you're not crippled, though.

That
was my point.

Great for those models, they still don't outsell Samsung as a whole. Which was my point. Pretty simple to understand.

Which I never disagreed with, and neither did OP. I was simply an outsider stating that you guys were arguing over 2 different things. You thought he meant all phones, but he in fact said any phone. You guys then shared sources on what you 2 were defending, but they were two different things. So, because you initially didn't read his comment correctly, there was confusion. That is all. You are both right in what you're defending, but the comment OP made was not wrong, and you said it was.

Never had an iPhone slow down due to software and I've owned nearly all of them. The only slow down you may get is updating software to an old iPhone that it was not suitably intended for.
Well, I've had security updates, minor OS updates, and updates for the various included Google branded apps on a Samsung Galaxy s2, Galaxy s4, and LG G4. No slow downs there, even though people have insisted that using an Android phone automatically makes it slower over time for no good reason.

Okay well tell google assistant to play led zeppelin and see what happens, granite I have Apple music installed and logged in. All that said Google will control the lights in my house so thats good but still have to pickup the phone and unlock it. The point is it wont work without picking the phone up and unlocking it. If I have to do that then I don't need the assistant. Yes this is one of my main reasons for returning the S8. Google Assistant works great on Nexus and probably others but Samsung wants to use their own assistant and it doesn't work.

It also doesn't mean you're not crippled especially if you can use your arms and upper body strength to do something better than a weaker person with legs. That's my point.

Hmm. So you're not a crippple if you're really strong but you can't use your legs...and only need to use you hands...Alrighty then.

They make hundreds of cheap phones that they give away for free, does that mean they are doing a "great" job just by flooding the market with crappy phones? I guess if that's your goal. I'd prefer quality over quantity if it were my company.

Just because a phone is cheap doesn't mean it's crappy. I don't know about Samsung as I've not used one of their cheap phones but other manufacturers that make cheap phones (One Plus, ZTE, Huawei, etc) are not at all crappy phones. Some of which are as good as or better than the iPhone in many areas.

All preference I suppose. I've never tried a Samsung phone that doesn't feel cheap. S8 is definitely an improvement though.

It doesn't work with the phone locked. I went through this very same thing with the S7 Edge. People claim it works but never does or very inconsistent.

Google assistant should work with screen off though not sure why it doesn't. Will need to check that out on my dads S8 plus

I've had a couple people tell me that but I've tried it on 3 devices and could never get it to work. Maybe I'm just and idiot who knows.

It works on the pixel but only question is should it be different on a Samsung? In theory it shouldn't. Maybe if you go to the google settings in the assistant?

I love my s8, and i love how all it makes all the iphones in the room look like an ancient device. oh and i've been an iphone user for 10 yrs... this is my first droid. I feel like i have to say that in every post so i don't get attacked. hahahaha

I wouldn't necessarily say it makes iPhones look ancient. I played around with a S8 at my local Target store and it is a pretty sleek device. It, however, did not make my 6s Plus look old or ancient. Granted the S8 was much easier to grip in my hand than my 6s Plus, and the display is great on the S8 as well. But before rushing out and buying a brand new device, I want to see what Apple has up their sleeve come fall.

Its very different because the Pixel is pure Google and the S8 is pure Google with its head chopped off. The S8 has Bixby assistant which isn't enabled yet. Bixby is on the phone but the voice assistant doesn't work.

What are you talking about? AT&T has buy one get one free and I just got 3 iPhone 7s at target and got 3, that's right 3, 300 dollar gift cards!

Looks like you can't read, "pre-order" of course they have promotions to get rid of the "old" models to clear inventory for the new iPhones.

By now, almost nobody wants an iPhone 7/7 Plus, that's why they try to get people that are not into the latest technology with all kinds of promotions, Apple doesn't need to give free stuff on pre-order.

This was almost 2 months ago and did it with the new red iPhone. 8 months before the next iPhone is out.

There are deals on every new phone so stop thinking apple is such a status quo as I got 900 dollars in visa gift cards for getting 3 phones.

This is my opinion about that company.
If you don't agree its your problem.
No need to insult everyone who thinks differenlty.
Show some respect if you are more than 5 yourself.
Perhaps you should behave respectfully. The sort of language you throw out tends to reflect more on yourself than on your "opinions."

That's what i usually do but then they released the iPhone 6... I mean 7. I hate the iPhone 6 design and sticking with-it for another year Would be hell for me.
