And some folks think this launch was completely normal... it's unfortunate that you have to wait, especially when you were one of the first to pre-order.
The order status subreddit has tons of people that are affected. I also had the issue on the morning of Unpacked where I couldn't use the PayPal $100 off code yet my card was authorized twice, and Samsung reps insisted the orders would process. Only for the charges to be dropped a few days later (as I'd fully expected).

I just got a tracking number in my FedEx account that the phone will be shipped overnight, so I'm getting somewhat more confident that I'll actually see it tomorrow. Still not holding my breath.

I like turning the phone around for long ways reading and apps like X look better with a turn. It's a multi useful device
No… X for me lol. Keeping mine locked to landscape orientation… but one thing I had to keep playing with was the Font size and style & Screen layout and zoom. Normally I keep that at the smallest setting possible to get as much content displayed on screen, but doing so kept the text waaay too tiny.

Had to keep playing around with the settings as well as changing certain apps to determine what size I should keep it at.

Strangely, it’s the same as yours… I didn’t change anything. Just used the settings Samsung provided for us… no need to change anything in the Developer setting. But I did change the “Stay awake while charging”…

im back on my wanting to switch from my 15 Pro Max. Phone looks really nice and been wanting to try Android again. I know the iphone fold is due out but i think itll be too expensive. Just cant be bothered losing passwords, safari bookmarks etc as dont have a PC to help move them over.
I had the flip for about a week but couldnt get a decent case for it and felt flipping it open all the time was gonna break it.

Seeing all these posts and pics is making my will power weak. Only thing stopping me is after buying a new boat last weekend (without asking) I know I’ll probably fear for my life from my wife. Probably would have helped to sell the old boat first. 😬

I thought the special when you bought the new boat was that it came with a new phone? 😏

If you can get the native android transfer tool to work, it will import passwords from iOS.

I don’t post much now as I managed to curb my phone habit this last year haha and have just been content with my iPhone Air since launch last year.

However, I think the Fold 8 looks brilliant. Finally a decent form factor for a foldable. OG Pixel Fold owners know!
It isn’t enough to make me switch as it’s so expensive and I’m trying to get more life from my devices these days but nice to see people enjoying it!
Congrats on returning to normality & getting more value from your devices 😏

Meh. Prob won’t last. This time of year is tough for us addicts. Only gonna get tougher, too.
as much as the ZF 8 is pulling at me, the foldable iPhone is probably going to be the one that pulls me back in this go around. I still keep a pixel around but loving the 17PM and Trifold combo. No interest in the new Pixels at all. I still have my 10 Pro XL around when I need my pixel fix.

So the Samsung standing case is a perfect compliment to my current Thinborne, only negative no Magsafe charging bc of stand but it's a perfect look with the Thinborne front. It also eliminates desk camera wobble. I'm definitely keeping it bc it was worth it with preorder price and I will just swap out the backs depending what I'm doing daily.

Well the F8 is a little marvel and certainly enjoyable to use. It definitely encourages more outer screen use.

One little personal niggle I found after so many years using the F8U book style format is I am more use to the portrait orientation on the inner screen. It currently works better for scaling on some apps. However what no reviewer seemed to note is if your using an app that needs biometrics like a bank app the fingerprint sensor is in an awkward position. Or even if you get distracted and the screen times out. I got around this by using my thumb print on the bottom edge.

Else

I can see some users having issues with app icon layouts on the outer screen especially for those that do not organise with folders, I’m a minimalist, so no issues🙂

Glad to see smart switch now handles you watch seamlessly

I have been rotating it for apps like Instagram and Twitter and rotating is good if you're reading a book. Overall nice having different usage

I guess the uptick is emails that I use a lot, the dual screen layout with the preview pane is better on the inner screen now, I had turned it off on my previous folds

I think the odds are pretty high that I get the Fold 9 this time next year. I'm super impressed with the new form factor so I think I can deal with the less than stellar cameras.

Maybe my thinking is wrong but I think Samsung should include all the good lock stuff in the phone without having to download an app.
From what I remember, Good Lock is a side project started because a group of their developers were into the rooting scene. Samsung then started using this as a testing ground to see what people actually use. They then started putting the most used features into the general settings menu. They also didn't want to overwhelm the general phone users with all the features.

Man this case looks great. So need something like this on my Trifold. The kickstand looks pretty hefty. The couple kickstand cases I have tried, the stand has been flimsy at best and didn't really support the device well.
