They did a good job with this one and so far solid.

Even as a tech enthusiast I can't imagine using a Galaxy with ALL of the Good Lock features available in the phone's general settings 😆. Mine's on truck for delivery, can't wait!

I didn’t know about the history of Good Lock. But I do recall Google and Samsung having discussions on dialing back features.. think Verge did a story on it. This was the earlier stages of OneUI and branching away from TouchWiz, Google felt that Samsung was somewhat ruining what was made of Android.

So, they reached a middle ground.. allowing experimental features to be introduced on Good Lock that way OneUI remained sort of similar to stock.

It is a lot so it does make sense but I'd like to see something in between.

Me being a legendary tinker lol… I do like to test certain features out, but I don’t use ALL of the modules from Good Lock.

Mostly stay with the essentials.. One Hand, Sound Assistant, MultiStar, QuickStar, HomeUp, Keys Cafe, LockStar and Theme Park.

Good Lock just on another level, I remember rooting my Note 2 bc we had no way to customize stuff back then and now it's a complete list of tweaks one can choose..

Does anyone know a website or a good video that explains all the Good Look settings one by one? I have been using OneUI for a couple of years now and I am sure I am still missing out on a lot cuz I just don't understand some of those feature descriptions or what certain toggles even do.

No I don’t think I will fold for the Fold 8! I like the rumour of iPhone 18 (non pro) and Air 2 being pushed out to Spring and I kinda hope that’s the case. As I’d be tempted by an Air 2 as I’ve enjoyed my iPhone air a lot.

I could see myself very tempted by iPhone fold… but I can already see it being stupid expensive.

Deep dive on all of the Good Lock modules? Not sure that’s possible… likely have to do a search on each individual one.

If you have any questions… feel free to ask (or check out Reddit), one of the most vast module is Home Up… it has a lot tweaks that can be set up to your personal taste.

I used DIY when it was first released… but it was limited to portrait orientation at the time, glad it’s fixed now for landscape. Doubt I’ll try again… prefer a minimalist setup with KWGT widgets on the Home Screen.

I'm a minimalist too , just date time and charge status widgets squished up, no search or app bar etc

Exactly everyone looks at the inner screen scratches but you have to realize just think of it as a film screen protector but stronger where it's going to scratch but it's replaceable

Ahh, that's the protector MKBHD infamously removed on an early model right, without realising it was meant to stay on?

It differs slightly from a slab phone screen protector in that it has to be on there right? Would anyone risk removing it & just have the glass exposed permanently?

Can it be purchased from anywhere? I know Samsung replace it once for free, but if it were damaged a 2nd time, are there options out there or is it best to have the OEM one from Samsung?

Samsung will replace it for free 1 year after purchase I believe and after that it's $19.99 where you can get it done
