I think the Ultra model will remain… because it gives Samsung a way to add premium features to the foldable line while charging more for it which results in higher profit margins.Curious if you guys think the Ultra model will remain in the lineup for years to come?
Well, it’s the first year… so, that plays a part of the success. But once Samsung decides to stop messing around with the Ultra branding and give it top tier features like S-Pen support, privacy display on the outer screen and a better zoom lens then more consumers will go for it (I sure will). The Fold 8 appears to be dominating pre-order sales. Perhaps because it's a new form factor, but I do think most consumers will opt for the short and wide foldable shape moving forward.
I agree if you looks at habits, less people are calling and more people messaging and using their phones for content. It makes total sense.Curious if you guys think the Ultra model will remain in the lineup for years to come? The Fold 8 appears to be dominating pre-order sales. nice, I will be joining tomorrow night

Have you tried messing around with Goodlock to see if you can override the system defaults?I got my device yesterday. I'm pretty happy with it, but Samsung definitely needs to tweak the software.
- Samsung made the buttons on the notification bar a bit too big, so the music player widget gets pushed down and cut off, so you have to scroll just to change the track comfortably.
- A lot of mobile websites aren't optimized for this aspect ratio either, sign-up buttons don't fit on screen and require scrolling.
- A few apps also don't know how to use this aspect ratio, for example, the Sonos app, where you have to scroll just to pick a song from an album. Google needs to make apps scale better, because it'll take years for individual developers to fix theirs.
- I also can't believe we're limited to just four rows of icons on the home screen when the Fold 7 (which is narrower) allowed five. And when unfolded, the dock only fits 6 apps vs 8 on the Fold 7. Does anyone have a trick to force more icons?
I've attached a few images to better illustrate my point.

You can rearrange the buttons in the quick panel settings to put music on top. Problem solved.I got my device yesterday. I'm pretty happy with it, but Samsung definitely needs to tweak the software.

As others have stated... you'll need to download Good Lock to unlock the ability to change the defaults specifically using Home Up (unlock rows & columns) and Quick Star (customize your Quick Panel). But on the topic of aspect ratio with certain apps, you might need to change your Screen Layout and Zoom.I got my device yesterday. Yep I ordered just after the unpacked event and date drifted out to 15th from the 3rdOrdered Fold 8 on 7/22 and see today my ship date is 8/21! Canceled the order and ordered through Best Buy, delivers Friday hopefully.
Really irritating that people who ordered a week or more after me already received their devices.
Can you change the scale of the elements displayed and the font but only on the cover screen? I'm fine with how everything looks with the unfolded screen, my issue is with how little information is displayed when the device is foldedI will have to check when I get it today, but I was thinking you can change the width in the developer options to dial-in stuff fitting. I usually change that on most phones to dial in. Also the font size with routines depending on open or closed.
Sure, but I do want to use the notification panel exactly as I have it set right now. Given the device costs €2000, why should we let these rich companies off the hook? We should demand better, IMHO 🦬You can rearrange the buttons in the quick panel settings to put music on top. Problem solved.
But at least there's an option for customization... if it's not set up the way you want, change it. If the media player is not set up properly, place it to where it doesn't cut off.Sure, but I do want to use the notification panel exactly as I have it set right now. Routines+ I believe will allow for change with font size in closed state, I will test it once I get my phone. Can you change the scale of the elements displayed and the font but only on the cover screen? That color does look nice! Congrats on the new toy! It's perfect 😍 also glad I picked Cream. Blends well with the MagSafe case and white magnetic ring so it doesn't wobble on a desk
