I wouldn't say that. I am 100% Apple day to day but have owned a PixelXL and Pixel 2 for dabbling. They were very good phones. This Pixel 3 on the other hand doesn't tempt and seems to be going in the wrong direction (for now).
It'll have to compete on price or something because looks won't be enough.

When uninformed consumers go into a store looking for a great phone like the iPhone, they are bombarded with lookalikes that the sales person uses to their advantage. More likely than not, the uninformed consumers goes home with an iPhone like clone that's cheaper and end up dissatisfied. Shady!

Google phone market share is very insignificant anyways so your claims are rather ridiculous.I know how some android fans detest the notch at the top, I wonder how they’re going to feel about having a notch and a CHIN at the bottom!!

You mean a notch that merely contained a regular camera rather that the several security functions the FaceID system houses?
Apple = notch is a compromise to house an actual feature
Android OEMs = notch to house just a camera for seemingly no reason at all

The notch on the essential phone was so small. Apple get a pass because of all the sensors. The other android OEMs are just being ridiculous. I hhink google are going to put a 3D sensor in their notch but it just looks ugly.

Notch has one and only one purpose - create an edge to edge display. It does not matter what's inside the notch. To say that a speaker and a camera are not "actual features" is pure fanboyism.

They should just offer a phone sans a front facing camera and no security other than the six-digit code for people such as yourself. Perhaps they could also steal a page from Motorola and add mods that give you guys a headphone jack, a floppy drive and a Gameboy game slot depending on which you prefer. Or they could just make some of the mods cosmetic so the phone looks like it is diamond encrusted or a cigarette case. Or one could be a holographic image of Scott Forstall with the text "Please bring me back" in the hippest font. Haha!
