I kind of want the earlier rumours if it just being in black to be true. It doesn't need to be made in other colors. Especially if the constraints are that only a couple of million will be available. Why segment the market into different colors. Heck I don't even think there should be different storage sizes. There ends up being way too many SKUs with sizes colors and carriers.

China.

You want to sell millions, you satisfy the biggest market. That doesn't include a pure black phone.

So do we think there will be a bigger model like the 7+ or will it be only the one the size as the 7? Personally the 7 Feels Way too small in my hand

Reminds me of a bezel-less version of the white galaxy S4 LOL...........Yikes its hideous.

The phone has way way less bezels than all the iPhone if u don't like the ehitenherbrh black, y'all complain to much

I know people come out with this kind of stuff every year and it isn't like me but surely these dummy units have got the colour of that copper/bronze phone slightly off.

That thing is seriously ugly, absolutely a contender for ugliest thing Apple has put out if it looks like that on release.

If anything, that's been the one constant since rumors started... Reduced bezels equal larger screen in smaller package. This video is not the first time this has come up and it shouldn't be a surprise to anyone who's been following this.

Personally, I'm looking forward to a smaller overall form factor with more screen real estate. This should be easier on the pocket and in-hand.

soon people will ask Plus size and much bigger screen. imagine iPhone 7 plus size full screen.

Eh just let him go. I normally just skip the articles that don't interest me. What's your favorite rumored feature so far? I am excited about an edge to edge OLED display that's flat and the facial ID system. If possible I'm going to register different saves of my face looking different ways. Before Coffee, After Coffee, lol. :D I look like a totally different person before and after my morning caffeine.
if you ask me i would say OLED and bezel less display is mainly selling point for me. I would liked to have touch - id in the display. But seems like that's not going to happen. i have Planned two models this year iPhone 7S and iPhone 8.
It's the same renders/mockup's you consistently Post on here. A White border may not be a possibility with the iPhone 8, but it's not entirely off putting for everyone. Some have no issue with a white bezel and or the contrast. As someone else alluded to, white is not your preference, but you don't speak for the majority either.
"Majority" not even close. Most part of the thread agree with me. Let come the keynote we will find out. Only 4 weeks left

The contrasting bezel and notch color is what separates an iPhone from a generic smartphone.

The iPhone 4 with white glass already set the stage for what Apple feels is their iconic design. Look at any illustration of an iPhone and the contrasting bezels and home button are what stand out. If Apple was going to hide the bezels, they would have done that with the iPhone 4, 5, 6, or 7.

This glass sandwich OLED iPhone won't stray away from tried and true Apple language.

I hear you.
I just personally find the white face on a colored device (with a dark screen) such a jarring treatment. That's all.

So you're basing results for the "Majority" off a thread? Lol. Also, seems not everyone shares your views clearly. It's just a color, no need to make it a huge deal. Everyone has different preferences is all we are saying. Again, you don't speak for others based off a thread alone. We get it, you like black. Others like white.

I remember when people said, no way is that what the iPhone 6 will look like. Cmon from 5S to that? No way. No way Apple would put ugly antennas bands on the back like that.

Personally I think it's ugly. This is the first time I've said that about any of their designs for phones. The 7, I was a bit disappointed that it was essentially the same as the 6.

My guess is Jony Ive spent most of his time on the design of the new campus, and just passed this off to the junior staff.

Am I the only one that's concerned with the timeline here? There have been no less than 10 leaks that Apple is having production issues, and that there are high defect rates, and that they are having difficulties with certain features, etc... and now the rumor says they're going into mass production amid all of these rumors? A bit scary... especially given Apple's track record with issues in software\hardware.
Really? Concerned and 'scary' ? about a phone? What so scary? That it might not be in your hand 3 minutes after launch ?

don't see how they can fix that if they don't want to make the phone thinner - both cameras will have IOS which requires a bigger housing
Actually, the camera module is not that thick. There is more space behind the sensor module than the bump is high (at least on released iPhones). I cannot believe Apple chooses to intentionally have camera bump and yet there is no obvious reason for it.

Don't be a troll. I was merely pointing out that after a gaggle of rumors about issues still present to have a rumor that it's entered mass production is concerning. Hopefully Apple can pull it off.

I think all of these mockups are accurate, but have one glaring incorrection.

The front panel will be black for all phones. Why? Well the front panel doesn't really matter anymore, since it's all going to be a screen (compared to prior models). Additionally, it will hide all the cameras and sensors that make this new iPhone tick. Furthermore, we should expect the top "row" of the iPhone to usually be black, since it will still primarily be used for the status bar, akin to this:

iPhone-8-display-top-cutout-rendering-Benjaming-Geskin.jpg

I believe the white iPhone will have a white front panel and for the entire status bar to sort of "blend" with the panel, apple will resort to what they did with the boot screen. White phones get a white screen with black Apple logo and the black phones get a black screen with a white Apple logo. Similarly, white phones will have a white status bar with black text and vice versa.

Something like this was first seen in ios 7 when they moved away from the skeumorphic design of iOS where white wallpapers had black text and darker wallpapers resort to white text. This is probably the reason why Apple won't have an explicit "dark mode" for iOS despite repeeated requests from users.

It all makes sense now. This design was probably in the making since iOS 7 was released and they prepped the software to switch between white and black depending on the aesthetics.
