if you ask me i would say OLED and bezel less display is mainly selling point for me. I would liked to have touch - id in the display. But seems like that's not going to happen. i have Planned two models this year iPhone 7S and iPhone 8.

"Majority" not even close. Most part of the thread agree with me. Let come the keynote we will find out. Only 4 weeks left
Oh that will be interesting if you get both a 7S and an 8. Are they both for you? I hope you post a comparison thread at some point.

I think the majority of the forum does agree with you about the color scheme. I think that's great, because it might make it easier for me and @Relentless Power to get the phones with the white fronts! :p I'm not yet sure if I'm going for the copper gold or the silver. I want to see the final product first. I've seen different videos of the same or similar dummy units and I'm hoping the reality is close to what I've seen. I really love the looks of these.

I have a gorgeous orchid grey S8+, but the reality of living with the curved edge display isn't my preference. I don't have any problems with false touches in the S8+, thank goodness. Samsung did a great job avoiding that. But there are other aspects of living with a curved edge display I've already critiqued in other threads so I won't repeat them here. I won't be getting rid of my Samsung. I just will be more wary of getting another phone with edges like this. Unfortunately, Android manufacturers seem enamored of the curves this year.

So, I'm very enthusiastic with this concept version and the flat display with the quirky unique little "frame". If there ends up being a notch, I'm onboard with the #EmbraceTheNotch meme. :D

I have liked every design since the 4. I think the shiny stainless is hideous and that copper. Ugh.

Black looks pretty darn sweet though. (I hope the camera is a little less... obvious.)

I would be honest with you i too like white front, all my iPhones had white front before i switched to Matt black iPhone 7 and i don't think there is anything wrong with not having white front. Both fronts looks nice with their given color combinations. I like both and i am currently using a iPhone 7 Plus in Red color which also has white front. Again nothing wrong.

Unfortunately the case with iPhone 8 is that cutout on the top with white front looks disturbing and out of place with the black display to me. I have shown this render here before, which i would like to share it here again and this will be good idea if Apple come up with the blackened top cutout like this. This will blend in with display better even though the overall front will be white.

Yes i will buy both. The reason i will buy 4.7 model is that I have exchanged my current iPhone 7 with my brother's iPhone 7 Plus which he bought recently in Red Color. Now i have two iPhone 7 Plus's [Black/Red]. So i don't need another Plus iPhone this year. I will rather pick smaller.

No doubt Galaxy s8 are one of the best looking phone in the market right now in my Opinion. But unfortunately i have never used Galaxy "S" series, so i can't comment on curved edge display. No offense but i simply stick with iOS and the iPhone 8 won't have curved edge to edge display, it will be flat with 2.5 d curved glass on side's like current models.

Nooooooo, why is the phone even bigger?

iPhone 7 already the max size for me, wouldn't the benefit over "edgeless" be that you can make a more compact phone but keep the same screen size.

I'm out, I don't want an even bigger phone.

Haha, I just thought: "Nooo, why is the phone smaller than than the Plus."
I am not sure if I want this one, the iPhone 6/7 is just too tiny for my taste now.

I've been thinking about face id and I have a question regarding touch id. sometimes you're browsing an app and all of a sudden you get a popup for apple pay asking if you want to buy the subscription. since the finger is not normally on the home button, you can just cancel it. so how will it work with face id .. if you accidentally tap on buying something, will it automatically go ahead with purchase or would you get a chance to cancel?

I don't think you can offend @GrumpyMom over her phone preferences, she is a fairly experienced and a knowledgeable forum member on here with Samsung and Apple alike (And one nice lady might I add). This is a good point to make about what she was saying earlier, everybody has different preferences and appreciations with the contrast on how the iPhone will look. But one thread on a tech website isn't indicative with the millions of iPhone users who may differ otherwise. It's really a to each their own preference.

I must be the only one who really doesn't want a glass back phone. I'm sure the OLED screen will be beautiful, but having a shattered back is not that appealing anymore than a shattered front.

Last great looking iPhone was 5S, since they they have looked more like the competition. Guess that is what happens when you compete with larger phones from android .

While I really like the idea of SS sides and glass back, this thing is ugly compared to the 4S

That guy has such a tiny thumb nail.

Then come and join us in the Android world where you've got a huge number of massive phones to choose from, each with a wealth of pointless features you'll never use and rubbish service when it goes wrong.

So you'll end up doing what most Android users do and buy a Samsung and complain that the software is crap.

Not that happy about the glass back. I remember the iPhone 4. Most phones seen in the wild, had either a broken front or back. And back then, changing the shattered glass was easy. I dont expect that from the next iPhone. And I dont expect them using the most resilient Gorilla on both the front and the back. :/ Its a lottery when you drop it, will it shatter on the front or the back?

Also, will not the camera bump be changed to the color of the phone? It looks like a sore at the moment. I hope they will add a 'bump' like on the 7's and this render, taken from 9to5mac.

Is this good journalism?

Is this good for Apple?

The company, probably more than any Smart Phone maker, goes to extreme lengths to keep its new releases secret - as has often been reported here with almost Nazi like efforts to chase people down and confiscate possible leaked goods.

Now, going beyond just reporting such leaks, this site is encouraging the leaking of such information by not just commenting, but reviewing a mock up...

Can't be good.

What if the white faced iPhones get a white status bar and the status bar stays always on? This way you will never notice the notch, whatever the model...

I’m not convinced about the white front. I have a feeling all fronts are going to be black now since there’s next to no bezel and just the notch for the camera/sensors. Black would make it blend in when the device is off.
I agree about the black color. However it's not a "no bezel" display. The white dummy front plate makes it very clear that there still is a noticeable bezel on every side. I think given this is an OLED, the bezels are surprisingly thick still.

The top cut out is growing on me - I hope they don't force you to hide it in a top black bar.

I wonder if they allow leaks on purpose to let us get used to things like cutouts, antenna lines, etc.

Funny how every Apple fan always owned a S7 Edge and S8, while their signature only shows Apple devices. I use the S8 every day and never have problems with unintended touches, just disable that annoying Edge feature.

I did disable it, still accidentally activated stuff. I’m talking about the edges in general, not the functionality that you get when you swipe from it. Also, that’s because I returned them both. I bought the S8 thinking it’d be an improvement, but it wasn’t. And even if I did still own them, why would I put them on a site dedicated to Apple? I only put Apple products in my signature which I haven’t bothered to update in a while if you haven’t noticed.

Here’s proof of it being funny of me having owned one:

is there any universe where the iPhone 8 or heck even the 7s will be plentiful and easy to get in the fall? They can't even keep up with demand for AirPods.

Guys seriously it is not bezel less

The Samsung is but Apple isn't

Agree, the design is a let down. I wanted image to the edge. I dont mind the camera/sensor area at the top. The back camera should have been smoothly integrated into the back so that it does not stick out. This is the 10 yr anniversary phone. It is also going to sell for $1k+. This one looks like they spent 5 minutes designing and that they could not get out of their own way with respect to same old same old.
