I ask because when a new iPhone came out normally they’d pop up everywhere but it’s been 6 months and I’ve literally only seen 2. I’ve not seen a single iPhone 8 (though they could be in cases so wouldn’t look any different to a 6 or 7).

Maybe it’s just me, what have others experienced?

Haven’t seen a single one yet. I live in the UK. The general consensus from everyone I speak to over here is that it looks great but just far too expensive to warrant buying over the other models.

Not a single one. I don’t know anyone with one, haven’t seen one, my brother in law who lives in a pretty influential (rich) area doesn’t know anyone with one, literally everybody I know and everywhere I go in the U.K. and I haven’t seen or know of a single iPhone X outside a shop.

Like the poster above, I know people who looked at it but consider it too expensive.

ONE . on a flight back from Frankfurt last week . seat mate had an X . have to say I was a bit surprised at the LAG on the FaceID

Zero. Few people willing to spend more than 1K euros just for the sake of Face ID.

Already several threads discussing this same idea.

Uhm...maybe, except yesterday’s earnings report indicates exactly the opposite of this. Also, $1,000 only for Face ID? Fallacy of casual reductionism if I've ever seen one.

Loads of people I know, including myself, have one...Most of my friend, most of my co-workers...They are everywhere...

Perhaps it is just a reflection of the people you mingle with...

More than I expected, considering I am currently in a developing country. Even some friends who are state employees have them. It is probably helped by the push of personal loans, especially by e-retailers.

Just to add, Samsung also always sold-out their pre-orders of their latest Galaxy phones.

Hmmm ... with 8 models of iPhones for sale, pretty hard to actually pinpoint which model had the highest sales numbers.
Please read front page news or at least peruse yesterday's earnings report before replying further. This is a waste of both of our time if you can't be bothered to actually investigate what you're talking about.

EDIT: Checked your post history and you have replied there. You just apparently have a bone to pick. Looks like your mind is made up, so this is all moot.

SO, you're saying that the X outsold all the other combined models in total ... yeah, I missed that bit of news.

A lot of people, including myself, especially at the gym I go to, so many people have one, including the note 8 and galaxy s8/s9, for the majority of the phones I’ve seen.

True I don’t mingle with gadget obsessed people. But generally after the launch of a new iPhone you start seeing them when out and about, shopping, in coffee shops, in restraurants etc. Haven’t seen a single X yet.

I still find it amazing reading how well the X is apparently doing globally yet I’ve seen only 2 of them in the 6 months it’s been on sale.

I think certain markets see it as more popular than others. I think smartphones have generally plateau’d in the UK.

Doesn't help the price in pounds is basically the same as the price in dollars in the US.

I've seen more recently but not loads. Seen two at work and half a dozen when in town. So given how good sales have been you would expect to see more. Still loving mine though.

There’s no doubt it’s a fantastic phone etc, but yes the cost of owning it here is off putting when it’s often double the monthly cost of other iPhone contracts. I’ve noticed a general disinterest among people I know when it comes to phones of late. People used to take an interest in what phones others were using and that seems to have gone, nobody really cares.

I was hoping sales would be disappointing simply to try and end this £1k iPhone idea. It seems the X has sold well enough to justify it and maybe it’ll become the norm? Maybe lower pricing tiers won’t be needed anymore and iPhones can start at £1k rather than be considered the premium line? I think when that happens I will no longer be buying their products. I’m starting to feel I am perhaps outgrowing the iPhone and should start considering cheaper alternatives.
