Are you going to down load straight away or wait??
Me, i really need the phone part of the iphone so NO! dam i'm waiting to see if theres anything bad with 2.1

Come on my guinea pigs tell me whats what.. :apple::apple::apple:
All you n00bs who have picked up from the big boys that it's wise to maintain a wait-and-see approach for updates have completely misunderstood the concept.

Yes, when something is bumped one full integer from v 1.0 to 2.0 and has been packed with new features, proceed with caution because the initial release is likely to be a heck of a lot buggier than the last incarnation of 1.X.

But when it's a point release that's largely a bugfix patch with no new features, you install and shut the hell up. To be afraid of the bugfix patch is completely irrational, especially when the previous releases stink. It's like coming home with a broken leg and going "no, don't drive me to a doctor, I'm afraid he might break my other leg. Better safe than sorry!"

If you cling to 2.0.2 for dear life, YOU are the guinea pig, dude.

I'm contemplating sticking my MBP in my bag and then going out in search of a free hotspot at lunch because i have to leave soon too.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 2_0_2 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/525.18.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.1.1 Mobile/5C1 Safari/525.20)

I don't think we'll see the update for at least another 6 hours or so. I've given up until this evening (I'm in the UK). I've waited since they announced it on Tuesday so I'm sure I can brave another few hours!!

Where oh where is my missing 2.1? Oh where oh where can it be?

Geez - all hype - no update.

For them its just an update, they will do sometime during the regular business hours.

Does Apple have a scheduled time for its releases?

17:11 in India, hope we get before midnight

i am checking every half hour... is this a bad thing?

i just want to be able to text without having some serious LAG!

hurry :apple: HURRY

damn this sucks. i got a hurricane bearing down on me and i know i'm going to lose power sometime today. i was hoping to get the update prior to the power outage. i am definitely not going to start an update while i think power could go out.

hurry up apple!

Are there other channels of distribution than iTunes?

I'm asking since there was a considerable lag between the release of iTunes 8 on the website and over Software Update. It was available for direct download from apple.com for almost two hours before it showed up on Software Update and 'check for updates' in iTunes.
