How can I convince my Dad to let me get the iphone 3GS??? Like seriously?!?!?

What are your dad's objections to your buying the 3G S⃣ ? Does he have specific reasons that he has clearly stated? Conversely, what are YOUR reasons for wanting the new phone? Have you stated these to your dad? Who is paying the monthly cell phone bill? You or him? Is one of his objections around the fact that it will cost more per month to use a 3G phone as opposed to an Edge phone?
The source of the money you plan to use to buy the new phone may also be an issue -- ie, is it money you're planning to take out of your savings account that is meant for college?

Why does it matter why his Dad objects? It's his house and his rules go. Maybe he made an agreement that the iPhone 2G would be kept and used until the OP was out of High School, etc.
He just doesn't want me to get the phone because he says I don't need it! It's not about paying the bill or how much it costs, he just says I don't need it and deserve it. And no, it's just my money that I've gotten from birthday's and stuff
That's why I asked some of the questions I did, to get this young man to THINK...... It doesn't matter to you or to me whether or not he can upgrade to a 3G S⃣ from his current 2G Edge iPhone, but it can matter to the OP to get an understanding of what his father is thinking and why his dad is objecting to this, as well as to clarify in his own mind just why he wants a new iPhone. There is "want" and there is "need." We're seeing a lot of "want" but not very much justification of "need...."

Don't lie, be honest about why you want it (feature wise). Also be honest who the 2G is becoming a set back as many features aren't available on it anymore. Mention the 3G speeds. Get imaginative but don't lie.
He prolly saying that becuz its a recession and he doesnt want you spending too much money on sumthin becuz he works hard and its harder for him to make money becuz the economy, and times are hard and he wants you to save money...thats understandable

Saving up your $$$ is one way of riding it out. Which is why I think OP's dad is trying to prevent OP from buying the 3GS.
I want the new iphone because it's been 2 years I've had this iphone and its starting to go whack now and its getting slower, internet wise and stuff, and i want the new one because of all its features, like MMS which I need, and if I upgrade I want to upgrade to a better phone, not a worse phone, so there's not many other choices to chose. He just says he doesn't want me to get it because I don't need it, it's pointless.

Wanting to replace a faulty device or even one that is causing problems is one thing. If you can demo your issues (ACTUAL problems) with your current device and explain that THAT is why you want to upgrade, perhaps he will understand.

Do you really NEED the 3G S . I mean really need it?
Do you NEED a compass? probably not.
Do you NEED the GPS? Probably not, while it's nice, you don't NEED it.
Do you NEED a slightly better camera? Again, while it's nice, you don't NEED it.
Do you NEED a cell phone. I would almost say no, but it's becoming normal now, so be glad you have the iPhone at all and not some cheapo free with any plan samsung phone. My kids will most likely only get a basic phone, nothing more.
The iPhone is a luxury item that someone who can't even sign their own contract doesn't NEED.

Hey man, sometimes dads word is final. And as long as you live under his roof, it is what it is. Thats how my father was, iron fist but it taught me alot about valuing the things you do have. Having a 2g is better than nothing at all right

I agree, if the OP wants an expensive phone, he/she should pay for it, plus the premium data rate.
Offer to pay the upgrade price, and difference from your current monthly plan and he should have no problems
On the off chance he still won't agree, I would let it be for awhile and try again later. Some parents want their young ones to be appreciative of what they have instead of wanting new things all the time. Maybe he's testing you to see if you always "need" the latest and greatest?
