i get it delivered from a local pizzeria;

thin crust, heavy on the sauce, light on the cheese
all the vegetables possible with chicken and sausage.

mmmmm

Favorite? I'm partial to a thin, hand-tossed, floppy cheese & pepperoni. The kind one used to be able to get in NYC. Good pizzerias have gone the way of good delis there; out to the 'burbs. :(

Best pizza in the world? Pizzaria Bianco. It's that simple. You may now close the thread. :p

Fellow Phoenician?

I've never been to Pizzeria Bianco, mostly because there is a ridiculous wait every single night of the week.

My favorite is pepperoni and hamburger pizza! A lot of people think it's weird to have that combo for some reason?

Never heard of tuna on a pizza till this thread
Interesting

I love a good tuna melt though

With melted cheese, mmm, lip-smacking good! :)

As the OP stated, pizza is a wonderfood. I like all of its incarnations I have tried and usually warm is the best way to eat it.

In my rural neck of the woods, delivery people take a long time to get to my house, so it's lukewarm. I go out for pizza instead.

Used to order from Papa John's but recently I've been making my own. Not only do I save money but if you want it done right do it yourself. :)

Where do you get it?
Giordano's, Bazbeaux, Jackamo, Donatos, Papa Johns

Chicago style? New York style? Other?
Really any style...depends on my mood.

How do you get it?
Delivery, in-house, and on rare occasion, I'll make some :)

What do you take on it?
Anything except anchovies and olives. Any color olives. My favorite pizzas are sausage (the big pieces of spicy sausage) and Hawaiian. Whoever decided to put pineapple on a pizza deserves an award and seventeen solid gold bars.

How do you like your crust?
Usually thin, but traditional is good too. Deep dish crust is magical.

Thin, pan, filled with cheese, regular?See above :p

That or I go to Cici's Pizza Buffet...

Arrrrrgggh!! I would do murder to get a Cici's near me...nearest one is over seventy miles away! And those damn ads on the TV keep taunting me!

Pizza, Italian Hot Dogs, Italian Cheeseburgers, Taylor Ham, Disco Fries, the best Bagels, the best Bread, great Italian food, great Spanish food, the best bakeries (Italian and Portuguese) etc.

Okay, gotta ask..."Disco Fries"?

Edit: Never mind. Googled it up and read it on Urban Dictionary.

Yes, the ads do tend to taunt people. Might I suggest going there every 2 weeks or every month? After all, for a good place to eat, I'll make time and drive there... if nearby (70mi is not far)

Also, talking with the manager about people in your town dying to get one and not have to drive would send a signal that they need to expand ;)

I live in New York now and the slices here do not impress me that much, you cannot get a decent deep dish anywhere. You can get a crap deep dish from the chains like Dominos, or Pizza hut but they aren't worth a **** so I make my own. Starting in a large pie pan (PAN NOT PLATE) you press out the dough and go up the sides about 2 inches (like a pie not a frisbee) start with the cheese motz or provalone works good, then add the pepperoni, then top it with marinara, bake it at 400 degrees for 20 minutes and top with shredded Romano--that's doing it Chicago style. Or there's my special Pacific Northwestern version which you add bacon, breakfast sausage, ham, potatoes, Tillamook cheddar, with your standard marinara, and top with more of that awesome aged cheddar or maybe Monterrey jack

I don't normally buy my pizza (except the bases)...but occaisionally I order my pizza from this small Pizzeria called 'Crust'...they have a couple of pizzerias in Sydney and Melbourne. They probably make the most amazing Pizza I've tried in my life!

Personally I like Ham, Pineapple, Mushroom, Capsicum and Cheese...but on rare occaisions I just like cheese. Nothing more, nothing less. :p Oh, and I like a thick crust...don't mind thin if I'm at an Italian restaurant though.

Pizza truly is the wonderfood

Just look at how many different styles people enjoy!
The different crusts, the different toppings

And wow, the different styles!
New York, Chicago, St. Louis (I had never heard of that) and more

Interesting to hear where people have gotten the "best pizza ever"
and to hear how many like the common ordinary variety

There is no such thing as St. Louis pizza. They're just trying to look awesome again. All they have is that crazy arch ... do you blame them for trying to claim pizza too? :p :D

the funny thing is how the italians really have a hand for wonderfood .. just look at pasta .. evey single time i'm in italia during the holidays i somehow manage to eat a pasta variety which simply tastes brilliant:
last year penne with broccoli-mascarpone, the year before tagliatelle with deer ragu
brilliant just brilliant

Big chain, I love Donatos.

Local place: Hound Dog's in Columbus. It's to ****ing die for. Although free pizza night at the HighBeck is damn good too.

Toppings: extra cheese, mushrooms, pineapple, black olives...*drooling* I want pizza!

as a health geek, i can state pizza is pretty horrid for your body, but in society you often can not escape the need to eat pizza (for reasons probably explained by accessibility, cheapness, and ease).

Pizza is a very popular food item for parties, meetings, and quick dinners and occupies a higher "food" level in the mindset than sandwhiches because pizza can be served warm. People often think they can get filled better with a hearty, warm meal.

But the top reasons pizza is bad is:
1) meat toppings (not only is the meat itself horrible for you, but the amount of oil that is released from the meat right into the pizza is the winner). Its like cooking sausage on a george forman grill, and then taking the collector plate and pouring it all over the pizza. yummy
2) cheese - cheese is just a fat product. Serves really no purpose. You can get all the calcium you want from other avenues ( i only drink low-fat milk)
3) bread - the carbs go right to the tummy. no way around it.

exceptions: if you are really active and burn enough calories, a pizza here and there wont do any harm, but of course you can easily feed your hunger and energy with better alternatives that will also help you with your exercise adventures.

what do i do when i only have pizza to eat? I take all toppings and cheese off the pizza. I then have a side of vegetables to go along with the pizza, so its basically like I am eating a side of pasta.
