My wife has had hers for a month and I've had mind for a little over a week. Hers doesn't have any visible damage. Mine has a tiny nick on the case where I slammed it hard on a counter. We have two young children so they both get banged around on doors and counters often. I've got a side by side and work outdoors but I don't ever take it off. I want to test the durability of the sport watch. If it doesn't hold up well then I'll get a SS next time. I'm also impressed with the water resistance. I've washed off my rzr while wearing it and showered with it everyday.

I had mine from May 12/13th until yesterday with I sold it. The SS held up pretty well with only minor minor fine scratches. The link band on the other hand was scratched rather easily and showed some wear. Overall B+.

So apparently my better half did something to her watch. Though getting a real
Accounting is difficult

Her screen protector was mangled (the screen was fine) and there's a tiny nick in the watch body.

Just hit 14 weeks.

She's pretty normal in terms of usage and does work out four times a week. But I don't believe it happened there.

I've warned her against putting the watch in her purse but maybe that was it.

Looks like a fleck Of Dirt. She's really upset though from more than a. Few inches it's practically invisible.

Looks a lot
Like the very mild scratch I got on my iPhone back from a key digging in

Let's see if anybody knows what could have happened in my situation.

I have small dust sized scratches in several different places on my Sport screen. I first noticed it while zooming into an app from the Carousel. I also can run my finger across the screen and feel them. What would I have come in contact with for that to happen?

Almost 2 months in .... Love it as much as Day 1. Went away a week without it ... Took Surge instead ... It was fine did what I needed but missed ⌚️.

Was holding UPS deliveries today and accidentally banged my SS Link Watch against the metallic part of my door. At first there was a mark that looked like chipped chrome and I really thought it was a chip. But then I started to scratch it and turns out it was the door paint. In the end the watch had no damage at all. I'm impressed.

I accidentally scratched my Apple Watch Sport, although is really small it's driving me crazy. I have been searching for information on how to remove scratches from the watch but all results are for the Stainless Steel Version.

So does anyone know if theres a way to remove a scratch from the aluminum casing?

Thanks, this is driving me crazy.

None for aluminum :(
that's why I just sold my Silver sport to buy the Stainless Steel version.

I received mine on launch day and have no scratches or dings (38mm silver Sport). I work 8 hr days in a research lab, so no real manual labor, but I have done aquarium maintenance on my tanks and washed the dog with it and have had no issues at all. I wear it from when I wake up to when I go to bed. I also have a screen protector with some dings and scuffs on it, so I'm glad I installed it.

After less than a week my grey sport has already developed 3 little white marks on the border between the glass and the aluminium. If I didn't know better I would say it looks like paint has chipped off. This is very disappointing. It's not as if I've been banging it against anything. See the photo below of the 2 on the bottom left. There is another on the upper right side too.

now that doesn't look common! i would totally speak with an apple support employee because in this area it is quite impossible to damage only the aluminium and not also the screen. maybe it is an unlucky production issue which should be resolved!

Using a screen protector so literally 0 damage. I only wear it under my suit for a few hrs / day though, you definitely have to be careful with it

12 day old SGS. no damage so far. I did put a screen protector on this past week and being that you can't even tell it's there. I think that was a good choice.

Scratches on the screen? Nope
Scratches on the case? Nope
What model do you have? 38mm Sport
Damages to the band? Nope
What band do you have? White & Black Sport Bands
What is you typical day like? School (walking between classes) + Work @ Retail Store
Was any of your damaged caused by something not typical of your day? No damage!
and finally,
Approximately how many days have has your Watch been following you around on your wrist? 21 :)

after one month my SGS screen is collecting micro-scratches (only visible in bright sunlight) like crazy. that was to be expected, but it's still far worse than on an iphone that lives in a pocket. i'm not sure if ion-x glass was the right material choice - hoping the sports model will be upgraded to saphire in a few generations. i'm dreading how it will look in two years - i probably should get me a screen protector.

other than that, except that the sports band got a little wider (1 1/2 holes) and that i have to clean the crown from time to time (gets harder to turn), it hold's up pretty well. the aluminium anodizing is awesome - still in perfect condition.

Scratches on the screen? YES (small micro-scratches, probably from sand, etc...)
Scratches on the case? NONE
What model do you have? 42 MM SPACE GREY
Damages to the band? KIND OF, but not really (got wider)
What band do you have? BLACK SPORT
What is you typical day like? TAKING CARE OF TODDLER or WORK ( filming )
Was any of your damaged caused by something not typical of your day? NO
and finally,
Approximately how many days have has your ⌚️ been following you around on your wrist? 1 MONTH

Make sure those white marks aren't removable. Could be a deposit of what it came into contact with.
Hard to tell for sure from the pic.

Trust me, I've tried everything under the sun to remove them. They are definitely parts of the metal itself.

i banged mine against a metal door handle when i walked by it too close. expecting damage since i wore it without my spigen rugged armor, but there was nothing. very surprised.

Now the one white mark on the border upper right has spread to 5 further dots. My watch has acne!! I think I'm going to return it and get a stainless steel.

After the black iPhone 5 issues, I can scarcely understand why anyone would think a black anodized aluminum watch, which is far more vulnerable to dings and knocks, would be a good idea. I didn't buy the black stainless model for this same reason. Coatings wear and there's no way around that, especially on something as exposed as a watch.

If Apple were to construct watch cases from the same zirconia materials as the backs, that would be as close to scratch proof as one could reasonably expect. But the cost would likely be prohibitive, in this complex case design.

I have the space grey sport and while there is no damage to the casing itself, the band started to wear away after only a couple of days. It looked as though the soft touch "finish" was wearing off. Took it up to the Apple Store and they did a band swap and got me a brand new one out of the box

I think you're right. I wish I'd thought about that before. My sport is being returned and just ordered the silver stainless steel. At least if that scratches I can polish them out.
