No damage so far but I would probably have some normal wear and tear if I wasn't using a Spigen Thin Fit (I use it so I can sell this one easily when the 2nd iteration is released :p)

I've been wearing my watch during normal daily activities -- washing hands, washing dishes, washing clothes, washing my face, running errands, shopping, etc.
The only thing I have noticed is that I instictually use my left wrist to open doors, push against things -- and that's not good as I wear my watch on my left wrist. I have unintentionally used my watch/wrist to push open doors, bear the brunt of a car door, etc and while I'm not happy with this unintentional wear, my watch has --thankfully -- not shown any damage or wear. I have yet to finally take my black space grey 42 watch for a true workout/run, but I am confident it will be able to hold up to any physical activity I throw its way.

Had my 42 SS since release day and worn it all day every day, except when sleeping as its on charge, since.

It's been bashed off things, scraped against concrete slabs when I was putting up my new shed and regularly bonked off things when my arm flails about when it spasms.

Other than micro scratches on the case, which I'd expect with any highly polished steel case it's in great condition. There's not a mark on the screen which has surprised me considering the abuse it's had.

Well, yesterday at my son's little league game (I'm an assistant coach) I somehow scratched it. It's distractingly noticeable in direct sunlight, basically invisible when indoors, especially if the screen is lit up (at all), so I'm really trying not to get irritated by it. I have a similar scratch on my 6+ and got a glass screen protector, and it also made the scratch disappear. So, thinking about it... I had told myself this was going to happen, still irritates me.

I've had my Watch going on three weeks tomorrow. I've worn it everyday since it's arrived. All my normal day to day activities including mowing the lawn and light work around the garage. I took the dirt bike out today for the first time this season. Wanted to get Health App info so I decided to wear it. It's common to wreck while trail riding and I did several times. So far my Watch is holding up great. SG Sports model. I did order a SS model several days after receiving my SG aluminum when I decided it was a keeper and wanted the sapphire crystal and a little more heft as I'm used to some weight from the other watches I normally wear. I'm getting used to the aluminum and would very much consider keeping it IF it had a sapphire crystal.

Hold a high powered flashlight (at least 100 lumens) on the screen and I think most of you will see some scuffs, just nothing you'll notice. I

No damage but I banged my SS couple times and luckily no dents so I just apple care to be safe

Just got my first damage today. Banged the screen against a metal door

There is just a tiny dot on the screen. Barely noticeable. Looks like dust.

Not worried about it. Got Apple Care + because I am a damn klutz. Surprised it took this long

I dropped my SS on a concrete floor the other day and followed that up with accidentally kicking it across the ground. I swear my heart dropped to my boots but I picked up my watch and there wasn't a single mark on it.

I do have Apple Care+ luckily but I was surprised there was no damage.

just a small update from my side:

on Sunday, almost exactly 1 month after receiving it, the digital crown started to move harder than it used to do. fortunately i read the article about cleaning the Apple Watch under water from Apple so I did that and it was fine for the day. The next day, on Monday, it started to rotated harder again and I did the cleaning procedure one more time and until now it works like day 1.

Just in case you don't know the article her it is: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204639

that's awesome. great article.

At exactly the 2 week mark I have my first ding. It's a tiny little thing near the band and is pretty much invisible unless I deliberately go looking for it. Even then it's not easy to see. I had a run in with the door at Panera today. :p

Looks good with the apple watch bag.

I also tried the other bands Milanese wasn't so bad and I like the classic buckle too.

Two weeks in and mine is already scuffed and scratched. Not terrible, and not directly the screen for now. But it's a bit annoying and sad that they couldn't have gone with the sapphire on the $400 sport model.

My Pebble is plastic and has a lot of scratches on it, but it was only $75, so I get it. But this ION-X or whatever is no different from the glass on my 6 Plus that looks and scratches just the same. I get over it, but still.

I don't even wear it when I'm working on our land because with my luck it'll get destroyed. So I take my Pebble. It's gone in the (saltwater) pool, lake, sand, dirt, sawdust, you name it and survived.

Other than that, I do like it and I'm patiently waiting for Watch OS 2. I just want a weather app that doesn't take an ice age to load. It's quicker to grab my phone than use any of the 3rd party apps so far. So I uninstalled all of them.

Too many questions.

I just returned mine. I can't justify a $400 watch with a screen that will scratch. 13 days in, already a scratch. Body is fine. Sport. I just can't imagine how many scratches 6 months from now. Maybe I am wrong and this is just rare. But I don't think apple should ever have used Ion-X glass. Maybe it's because the sapphire maker couldn't deliver their promise.

I too have/had a scratch on the watch face after only 2 weeks. Frustrating. Took it back to Apple store for replacement/repair. I was told that Apple Care does not cover "cosmetic" problems. But the watch was sent away and I will be charged I think $69. When I have the watch back again, I am going to have a Zagg shield installed . I am not taking anymore chances.

That's unfortunate, but if they had used sapphire in the Sport, it would have probably made the cost closer to the SS Watch. Since it's already scratched now, why not go ahead and wear it and enjoy it.

I agree. Enjoy the watch and look forward to the OS2. Life is good.

Isn't hat he one that people say pops off easily? Any issues? Maybe they revised it?

Girlfriend clearly smacked her watch on something hard today. The screen protector was pulled off on the corner and basically had a hole in it. No damage to the watch bit I'm guessing there may have been without the screen protector on the sport watch.

If you do any work outside and move a lot, or you are clumsy, you should get apple care, screen protector, and a case for it.
