So she has no idea why but my girlfriend has a massive gouge in her watch. She even had the snap on plastic cover on there.

The way the gouge is. I just have no idea what could do that to strong aluminum. She is upset but j just told her to sit until it gets truly shredded and the. We will do the insurance clai
That said I'm very disappointed she could do something lioe thank an office. Disappointed in apples build quality not her.

Unless maybe it happened at the gym. Unlikely given she uses a souvenir tough armor at the gym

The gouge is so weird we are going to go to apple and talk to them. Something isn't right. There is over a mm of material missing

any pictures? could it perhaps have been gouged by the case (if the case got banged hard and squished into the watch?)

I doubt the case did it highly. There would have to have been a rock in there hat really couldn't have fit without scratching it up.

Apple this week. Phone support sounded optimistic they would replace it as it sounded like unreasonable wear and tear. But i don't want her to get her hopes up.

Regardless we have insurance. Is better no to claim. And the issue right now is if the watch can't take walking around on a reasonable personas hand who never fell or anything. Is not sturdy enough to be called sports watch and it's not good enough.

I have 42mm Apple Watch and have some minor scratches on the case that can be easy buffed out. It about the same as any ware everyday watch so it holding up just fine. I had it since launch day and ware it every day. My watch is the Stainless steel with the black sports band.

No scratches or scuffs and i've seemed to be hitting it against things more recently lol so its definitely holding up well.

What I do notice is the band on the underside of my wrist is starting to wear very little. Probably because I work at a desk and type most of the day my wrist is likely rubbing against it causing that.

42mm SS sport band.

No damage to screen. I have even rubbed my screen HARD on block and stucco walls at work to show android co-workers at just how strong screen is. Not a single mark.

Overall very happy.

You made me cringe with this. Like physically shutter.

Had my Sports Space Gray 42mm since late April. No scratch whatsoever, even after a couple of rough camping trips, many swimmings at the beach and pools, hitting against the wall, etc. Knock on wood of course.

Really only thing I am seeing is normal use that I see on any watch worn everyday. Just buffed out my case scratches. Screen just like new it never had any kind of marks on it.

After about a month and a half, both our watches are still looking pristine. The Mrs has a Sport and I'm wearing a SS at least 5 days a week.

My 42mm Sport Space Grey was received on launch day and hasn't left my side since and still looks immaculate. I wear it everyday and will typically exercise on most days. I go for runs wearing it, Insanity workouts, and strength training. It's in use throughout the day for messages, music, Siri, plus the occasional weather check etc.

I've just come back from a 7 day holiday to Spain and whilst on holiday its had a torture test. Its been worn in 33c + heat, covered in sun cream twice a day, worn to the beach and been in the sea most days. It got rinsed off at least twice a day. I went for a few morning runs with it. It was used for boarding passes, gate information, music and all the other usual stuff. The thing never skipped a beat and looks pristine.

Honestly I can't find a scratch anywhere on the device, I've even checked the sensor underneath and it's fine. I thought the sand from the beach would be a potential problem but it wasn't.

I've never used a case for it and never been overly careful but I guess I'm not too clumsy either.

Get up at 0545 and put the watch on. Go for a run, do some Insanity, or some strength training. Take off for a shower but will rinse the watch under warm water to remove any sweat. Watch goes back on after a shower and is worn all day and used for all functions. Taken off from 2230 onwards and put on to charge.

Slight scratches on the case, and the clip on the ML that fastens the band magnetically looks like it survived a trip to hell.

Wanting to buy Milanese Loop.

38mm, SS, Milanese Loop, have had since early-May (over 3 months now), worn every day, still looks brand new. Only "maintenance" has been a few cleanings of the band with a soft baby toothbrush and a gentle cleanser. I'm a happy camper.

Watch out for door knobs.

38 space gray sport. One nick on case nothing major, holding up great. Wear it all day long.
