Overall I'm very happy with my watch. The first couple times I banged it against something I freaked out. I have apple care +, but still! Yet still not scuffs, scratches, chips, dents. I am very satisfied with the durability of the watch so far. No case no screen protector. I am careful within reason when I wear the watch.

Only issue I've had was the black sport band peeled... But Apple already sent out a new one! Hope this one doesn't do it though...

My third 42SS has been without flaw! The brown leather look has the slightest amount of wear but it looks like new other than that and is washed weekly with the watch. No scratches worth buffing out yet. Can't wait for OS2

Cracked my 42mm Sport this weekend. I was weedeating and a small rock got flipped up and put a small chip/dent in the screen and cracked from edge to edge from there. No I will really see what kind of abuse it can take. I started to shower with it and plan to swim with it just to see how it holds up before I get it replaced with Apple Care.

SS 38mm & very careful with it. Tripped and fell walking up some stairs and fell hard onto unforgiving concrete. Thought for sure the whole watch was going to be wrecked, but there are only minor scratches on the outer casing. No damage to the screen (whew!) Very pleased with the whole watch.

Got my watch on day 1 and noticed a couple of weeks ago that I have a tiny hairline crack on the sapphire screen of my SS watch, where it curves into the body. Flat sapphire is strong, curved sapphire less so it seems - i've had sapphire faced watches for years and never a mark; quite frustrating. The case is holding up fine though

yeah all fine on my side, got my AW sport strap and bought a HOCO link bracelet for every day use. I can't see I have any cracks or anything but I did buy a slim case for my AW :|

I've had my SS since launch day in April. I take reasonable care but certainly don't baby it. Have showered in it numerous times, mainly because I've always had waterproof watches in the past and I forget to take it off. To the naked eye my watch, both case and sapphire look pristine. With a magnifying glass I can see some scratching on the case. I'm delighted with how it is holding up.

Fresh out the box for a Sports Space Grey and noticed a small ding between the glass and the edge of the case :(

I know it's bound to get nicked but this isn't good.

Day 1 watch and had a major problem today. I was walking and heard a clanking sound. Looked down and saw the screen of my watch hanging out of the case.

I quickly took off the band, put it in my pocket and went to the Apple store. I have an apt for 3:30, but the screen popped back in. I have read other stories about this problem so not sure if Apple will do anything about it or not.

Ugh, very annoyed.

Seems to have lost some of the black "color" right on the edge around the display on my space grey 42 watch.
About one month old
Anyone else?

Woops....

I squeezed my arm when I was working so the glass cracked. I'm quite surprised how little damage it received towards the power it was exposed to. Lucky for me , I have AppleCare+

Just checking in ... After 4.5 months, my⌚️Is part of my daily routine .. and I never think to switch to a different watch Ever. I love the haptic touch, glances etc... I always had my phone with me but never pulled it out to check on anything ... My ⌚️Now does it all. Just love it. SS38mm.

the glass back of my watch has developed a deep scratch (see center in between sensors) I'm assuming from the charging puck.

anyone else with a similar problem?

shall I try and get a replacement from Apple?

I've had my Apple Watch just under a week now and so far, so good. Have caught it against a few things but looks good as new.

Really, really impressed with it. If anything it's inspiring me to get fitter!

Why would you need to replace it, if it's in a place where it's not visible? I'm not trying to be snarky, I am really curious if there is any reason, since it seems like it wouldn't affect it's functionality.

I'm not extremely bothered about it, as so far it's just cosmetic and as you said you cant see it, just wondering if it's a common occurrence and if Apple should know about it for future Watch releases..

I've seen a few people complaining about scratches on the back caused by the puck but mine is more like a nick, i feel it with my nail.

As far as I'm concerned will probably wait for some accidental dent or scratch and then get a replacement on my Apple Care warranty ;)

I think it's pretty unreasonable to assume that a watch isn't going to get banged and scratched up all over the place. It's just part of the deal. Accept the scratches and move on, or it's going to torment you, because many more scratches are likely coming, if you wear the watch for a few years.
