how do you guys like it?

I'm deciding whether to buy either an apple watch, desktop video card+SSD, or a NBA2K/StarWars battlefront machines (PS4).

i played around with a friends iWatch, it really did make me envious (he had the SS with link bracelet, but id prob just get the space black sport).

But it might of been just a spur of the moment thing. It was pretty cool, felt like almost a remote for my iPhone.

I feel like this device (after looking at some of the specs) can later be used as a stand alone later on when they develop some type of OS for it. I don't believe you'd have to get a Gen 2 watch for it to be stand alone.

Buffing SS Case

Got some hairlines scratches on the bottom of the case :(--not really sure how. I'm thinking about trying those silver polishing microclothes. Anyone try it yet?

I've had mine for about 2 weeks now. Love it. Just got the white band. Exchanged it in store. No signs of wear. It's really starting to become a part of my daily life. From 7am until about 1030pm I wear it everyday. ##

Can't live without it! I love it!

Scratches on the screen? NO

Scratches on the case? ONE LITTLE SQUIGGLE

What model do you have? 38MM SS BLACK SPORT BAND

Damages to the band? NONE

What band do you have? BLACK SPORT

What is you typical day like? WAKE UP, SHOWER, EAT, ETC. PUT ON WATCH. I HAVE IT SET TO GREYSCALE, DIM, LOW SOUND, MINIMUM HAPTICS, WRIST DETECTION IS ON, BUT WAKEUP ON RAISE IS OFF. THIS HAS SIGNIFICANTLY INCREASED MY BATTERY LIFE, ALTHOUGH FROM TIME TO TIME I CHANGE IT TO COLOR, BUT VERY RARE. I WORK RETAIL SO I DON'T CONSTANTLY PLAY WITH IT. NOTHING LESS THAN 55% WHEN I CHARGE AFTER WORK. DAYS I GO RUNNING OR TO THE GYM, I CHARGE IT BEFORE I LEAVE TO GO TO WORK, ERRANDS, ETC.

Was any of your damaged caused by something not typical of your day? NO

and finally,

Approximately how many days have has your Watch been following you around on your wrist? 21 DAYS TODAY!

I do a 2 mile walk every day as well as a 30 minute elliptical workout every day, which means I sweat all over the band and watch. I have not been babying this thing at all--I just treat it like I have any other watch. The only thing I have been doing differently is being a little more careful how I walk through doors. All the dings I got on my old watch were from whacking it against door knobs and door frames.

I've been out in the rain, cleaned house, ran around to soccer games and activities for my kids for whole weekends at a time, and even banged it into the kitchen table once, and it is spotless. Very happy with the durability of this product so far.

There is quite a lot of small shallow scratches on my SS. It's to be expected I guess. The screen is still flawless, glad I opted for this over the Sport in that regard.

My Classic Buckle is holding up well. Granted it has only been three weeks, but I exercise every day with it (trying to source a sport band), and it hasn't started to smell or anything :p

Wait until you get the sport band, you'll love it! I bought mine with the classic buckle too, then I purchased a black sport band. I haven't wore the CB since. So surprising how a rubber band can feel so comfortable.

I've had the 42mm SS with BSB for ten days now.

Only catastrophe was dropping it. It's still kinda hard to put the Sports Band on with one hand

Luckily it was a wood floor and there is no damage. I was worried about the digital crown being affected but so far so good.

Have you watched the video about putting it on? I don't have a Sports Band but read in another forum that the video was really helpful.

No, I didn't watch the video. That would have been the smart thing to do ;) It just took a few days to get the dexterity for the new (to me) way the band is secured. It's still not second nature but every day it gets easier.

Just examined the watch up close after having it 12 days, looking good. To quote the OP's questionnaire:

Scratches on the screen?
None
Scratches on the case?
No (apart from a few normal tiny SS microscratches)
What model do you have?
Apple Watch 38mm Stainless Steel
Damages to the band?
No
What band do you have?
38mm Black sport band using S/M
What is you typical day like?
Usually wearing at least 15 hours. Doing iOS development where I also use the watch to test new apps. Leisure time spending lot of time outdoors, active glider pilot. Battery is also holding well. During active WatchKit development I sometimes keep the watch on it's charger, however for normal usage it really is a none-issue.
Was any of your damaged caused by something not typical of your day?
No, but I anticipate some rough watch-bumps that happen when I'm at the airfield for example during rigging of a sailplane. That's why the sapphire screen is useful for me.
Approximately how many days have has your Watch been following you around on your wrist?
12 days

[EDIT]Feedback the software side:
Although positive on app responsiveness, I do have a feeling that the 1.0.1 update has somehow given a negative impact on the battery life. Still getting through the day, however before the update I could still have 40% battery at the end of some days with light watch usage. Not anymore with 1.0.1, it's often at or below 30%. And of course the update has introduced the (known) problem with the inconsequent timings for HR-measuring.

[EDIT 2]
Took some more time to test the battery. What I did for the past two days, is disable the wrist-lift-activate setting from the end of the morning until beginning of the evening. Then re-enabled it. Ended up with 40%+ battery (late night) on both long days. So the problem is not as worse as I previously described. However it does seem that this setting has a relatively large impact on battery in v1.0.1. Will keep experimenting with having the setting enabled/disabled.

Ok here goes! :)

Scratches on the screen? None
Scratches on the case? None
What model do you have? 38 Sport Silver. Poly band in white or black (Pink still en route).
Damages to the band? Black band shows where the strap overlaps on the inside as a slightly shinier patch. That's it so far.
What band do you have? Black and white sports bands so far.
What is you typical day like? 16 hours of wear on average. Desk job plus a lots of exercise and roller skating (roller derby player). Watch gets taken off for contact drills but stays on for non contact work outs.
Was any of your damaged caused by something not typical of your day? N/A no damage.
Approximately how many days have has your Watch been following you around on your wrist? 29 (I think! Got it on 25th April).

I noticed you guys are saying there is no wear to your black Sport Bands. Is anyone else having the issue below?

That Does Look Rather Bad

I noticed you guys are saying there is no wear to your black Sport Bands. Is anyone else having the issue below?

I'm in the "no problems with my black sports band" group.
I wear it every day, even for workouts and cycling, and my band shows no sign of wear or tear. I tend to be careful and am not hard on anything I wear or use so all of my stuff looks good even after years of use.

I've seen many had issues with their black sport band. I would bring it to Apple's attention and request a replacement. Seems like batches of the black band are defective

When did you get your Watch?

I'm trying to see if the Black Sport bands were defective by batch. I'm not sure. Can others chime in and post pictures of their perfect Black Sport bands? It's driving me crazy that I can't get an Apple Watch band that doesn't look terrible and worn within the first few hours of use.

Not quite at 10 days yet, got my 42 SGS last Tuesday. I had a scare at the gym yesterday, though. As I was leaving I heard my watch scrape against the metal handrail on the stairs, but couldn't find any damage on the watch body or screen.

Phew.

I've had my 42mm aluminium sport since the 24/04.

I was just giving it a clean and noticed a line of scratches down the screen, it looks like I've brushed it against something.

I'm a bit gutted as its just over a month old but I know I'm terrible with watches and always end up catching them on stuff!

Wish I would have spent the extra for the stainless one now!

Get a screen protector. I have the SS, but I still installed one just to be safe, and it's virtually invisible.

Yeah I did buy some but they only covered the flat bit of the screen and it looked a bit daft!

Not to worry, they aren't too bad!

Scratches on the screen? no
Scratches on the case? small ones on top and bottom , will try to buffer them out , wonder if the mirror finished will be like when I got the watch after doing so.
What model do you have? SS 42 mm
Damages to the band? no
What band do you have?Sport black
What is you typical day like? Very active , work in an animal hospital , will purchase a case for the watch for further protection
Was any of your damaged caused by something not typical of your day?
Ironically , the very small scratch in the bottom of the watch was caused by accidentally rubbing the Jawbone Up 24 that I wear on my right wrist .
I have had the watch for 2 weeks now .

Any watch will acquire scuffs and marks over time from normal wear and tear. AppleWatch is solid but not unscuffable. Just enjoy the wstch and stop being so OCD.
