I've had my 42mm aluminium sport since the 24/04.

I was just giving it a clean and noticed a line of scratches down the screen, it looks like I've brushed it against something.

I'm a bit gutted as its just over a month old but I know I'm terrible with watches and always end up catching them on stuff!

Wish I would have spent the extra for the stainless one now!

With this is mind, why didn't you go with the SS anyway?

I noticed you guys are saying there is no wear to your black Sport Bands. Is anyone else having the issue below?

I've had two different AW Sport bands and that wear looks normal to me. It's when it starts showing up on the visible parts that it is defective.

Scratches on the screen? No
Scratches on the case? Yes
What model do you have? Silver SS
Damages to the band? No
What band do you have? Green Sport & BLL
What is you typical day like?

A lot of text messages, a lot of notifications, roughly two calls, two hour workout,

Was any of your damaged caused by something not typical of your day? No
and finally,
Approximately how many days have has your Watch been following you around on your wrist? 13

Scratches on the screen? None
Scratches on the case? None
What model do you have? SpaceBlack
Damages to the band? None
What band do you have? SpaceBlack
What is you typical day like?

Active business man. Some time spent in the office with my employees and some out in the field visiting customers, job sites and employees at the sites.

how do you guys like it?

I'm deciding whether to buy either an apple watch, desktop video card+SSD, or a NBA2K/StarWars battlefront machines (PS4).

i played around with a friends iWatch, it really did make me envious (he had the SS with link bracelet, but id prob just get the space black sport).

But it might of been just a spur of the moment thing. It was pretty cool, felt like almost a remote for my iPhone.

I feel like this device (after looking at some of the specs) can later be used as a stand alone later on when they develop some type of OS for it. I don't believe you'd have to get a Gen 2 watch for it to be stand alone.

Apple watch, ssd and video card - $400+250+200=$850
Ps4 + 2 games = $399 + 50 + 50 = $500

Is my math off? You seem young. If I were you I'd get the ps4
The apple watch isn't that fun. It's cool but not fun.

Scratches on the screen?
Yes, a small nick.

Scratches on the case?
Yes, a small nick.

What model do you have?
38mm Silver Sport

Damages to the band?
A little wear, nothing bad.

What band do you have?
BSB

What is you typical day like?
I wear it morning to night. I work in a computer repair shop, so I'm digging into desktops of all ages all day. Lots of sharp-cut steel edges.

Was any of your damaged caused by something not typical of your day?
Not really. I must have sliced it on some sharp steel edge.

Approximately how many days have has your Watch been following you around on your wrist?
A couple weeks now.

The nick is on the upper edge of the watch, near the center. It goes over the glass and the case. It's not nearly enough to bother me, and I don't really even see it unless the light catches it just wrong. I'd expected it; my previous watch was scratched to hell and back. Other than that, the watch has been absolutely wonderful :)

Thanks for posting that. That scratch doesn't look bad at all. Makes me feel better about my order. Hiwever not knowing how it appeared concerns me as it means it was minor

Got a little tiny nick on the face after bumping into my car door while opening. It's tiny but it's all I can see and it just barely is noticeable with screen on. Oh well, I'll replace it every year with AppleCare+ anyway.

No Damage, but, I know my sport band is going to get chewed up the more I use my macbook pro on the couch. It's just grinding on the MBPro edge. While typing...

Fml I dropped my watch while doing s periscope unboxing video... Has a small dent on the Ss case but not too noticeable. It was bound to happen at some point. Dropped it like 6 inches total onto my desk

I think the time I come closest to dropping my watch is when I'm putting it on. I decided to use the smaller band for a snug fit so this means I can't put the band partially together before putting the watch on. I've used ApplePay twice with the watch once at Trader Joe's and once at the cafeteria at a coffee shop. It's easier than digging out my phone.

I used my Apple Watch when I ran a 10k this past Saturday. I went in to settings->raise wrist and picked most recently used app so that runkeeper would come up whenever I raised my wrist. I used it to pace myself to do a personal best sub 10 minute miles for 6 miles. This was one of my main use cases to justify buying Apple Watch and it performed flawlessly.

I had a little scare about battery life the first day of ownership (because I'd decided to wear it rather than charge it fully before first use!) but every day since my AW has outperformed my iPhone 6 for battery life.

I really don't care if my space grey aluminum case or sport band get any little nicks but I would be upset if the screen were to get scratched. So far so good. No cosmetic marks on my AW at all.

Really upset with the screen scratches - I've had it 3 weeks and I've been so very careful. Sport 42" - I really don't know what has done this - I keep wondering if its my sleeves / cuffs etc.. not happy at all..... :-(

I have the 42mm Stainless Steel with White Sport band, and have to say that I love it! The Sports Band hasn't gotten dirty, ripped, or anything, but the one thing that's bugging me is my watch case. Since it's the Stainless Steel variant, it scratched, mostly at the top (when the digital crown faces the right side on my left hand) but it's still something! I've owned mine since the original April 10th release date (Woot, Woot!) so I might see if I can get it polished or something, or if it gets bad enough, go to the Apple Store and see what they can do!

Any recommendations?

Just try to ignore and just enjoy the Watch. As many people have said, stainless steel will scratch. It's a soft metal, it's just what it does. Other luxury watches made out of stainless steel scratch too, it's not a defect. People say that the scratches on a person's watch represent their life and the person they are. Just know that you COULD get rid of those scratches if you wanted to, but you don't need to. I'd say just live with it for as long as you can and then once you've had your Watch for say, 6 months, either get a product to buff the scratches out yourself or have a jeweller do it - if they're really bothering you that much still.

Mostly, just remember there's always a period of 'newness' with any new purchase. Like when you buy a new car and you do everything you can to avoid making it dirty. But eventually you just stop caring cause it's not so new to you anymore.

What I'm trying to say is, just enjoy your Watch and don't worry about the scratches so much. If you just put them out of your mind and tell yourself that you don't care, you'll enjoy the product far more.

I guess I'll just have to do that! haha I love the watch a lot, but every time even a small amount of light shines on the top edge, there are scratches that look like scuffs on it, and that's what's bothering me the most! Otherwise, I'll try not to really care! :p

I am so disappointed with the black sports band. I had it for a week. Just normal day-to-day wear. After a week, I noticed a white patch on the top of the bad. I wiped at it and it wouldn't come off. I washed the band gently, it still wouldn't come off. Then I realised that it was some kind of coating and I had to rub at the entire band and scrub ALL the coating off just to get the thing to look even. A couple of days later, the other half of the band started doing the same thing, so I had to scrub that as well.

It looks ok now it's even, but I am pretty peed off about it. I could take it to Apple and ask them to exchange it, but pretty sure another sports band is just going to do the same thing.

I have seen several reports of this and wonder if its some kind of coating used to prevent sticking to the mold. I so far (since April 24th) have been wearing mine daily and have not seen this.

I like the new forum! Anyway, my watch is still in perfect condition. 42MM Sport Green, even the strap is fine. I thought it would stain easily, but stuff comes right off it with a wet rag.

I thought I would have done something when I banged it into a pan washing up. Very slight scratch on SS case but nothing on screen.

I would suggest taking it to the Apple store. It sounds like this may have been one batch of black bands. Some people have reported Apple replaced their band.

I went with SS because it is very durable (one reason I have SS cookware) - my old SS watch did get some scratches over time but they polished out so if figure I'll do that with my Watch eventually.

I really don't think there is anything you can do about scratches is Stainless Steel. Mine has picked up a couple of nicks, which I intend to polish every now and then.

Have had mine about a month (42mm SS - BSB most of the time, otherwise Black Leather Loop).
Screen: perfect
Watch Case: probably some very faint scratches - but as others have pointed out very common on Stainless Steel Watches (both of my Tags and my Breitling can attest to that)
BSB: no damage or real signs of wear that I can notice.
Leather Loop: same, but I don't wear it as much and certainly not when working out.
