Mine was great until I accidentally brushed it against a steel doorknob. Now I have a nasty scuff on the top side of the SS case. I expected better - it wasn't a catastrophic bang but a light scrape. Oh well, now I have to go find someone to buff it for me.

You already know somebody. It's you. It's SO easy to polish the SS Watch with Mothers Aluminum/Mag polish. Take you less than 30 seconds and you'll be done.

The same thing happened to mine, and I'm still not sure whether it was that I inadvertently sprayed the band with something that left a residue, or it was some sort of coating on the band, itself. At any rate, I scrubbed the band well, used a mild cleaner (Cetaphil), rinsed, and it has not happened again in nearly 2 more weeks. Puzzling!

It's definitely a coating on the band itself. You can actually see it peeling away in places once it starts. Once you've scrubbed it off, the feel of the band changes and becomes smoother to the touch and less "velvety".

I suspect that all the Sports bands have the same coating and all have the potential for it to rub off, but it's much more noticeable on the Black than any other colour once it does start to come off.

does anyone else have a little bit of dust particles stuck between the gap between the screen and the casing?

no damage on my SS but i feel like my black sport band is getting a bit loose. i used to need the 2nd to last hole and now i can do the 3rd easily

oh btw is the button on the side supposed to make a clicking noise when u touch without actually pressing it?

I have seen a little. I took a brush that I have to clean the dust from the navi in my truck and ran it softly along the edges. Got rid of it all. I figured it is bound to happen. There is a gap there.

Unfortunately..... scratched my 42mm Sport glass. It's pretty disappointing. I am thinking about taking it in to the :apple: store and hoping for the best to get a replacement... kind of doubt it though. I highly recommend springing for sapphire.

My wife got her 38mm SG Sport on Sunday and by Tuesday evening there were 2 scratches on the watch face. She does not recall hitting anything.

Thanks for posting this. I bought a SS because I tend to be clumsy with things, but I kind of worried I spent too much, even though I love the watch. I recall having old Timex watches with glass crystals that always got scratched up. I hope you can work something out at the Apple store.

Bent over to check under my car and heard a 'clink' from my watch and the pavement *gasp*

But after careful inspection no scratches on the case nor the screen :)

This is encouraging . how long did you use it for so far ? mine arrives on mid june :(

I've had it since April 24th. I've worn it every day since. The white band has dis colored slightly on occasion, but is easily fixed by a simple wipe down. The display has some scratches on the oleophobic coating, but nothing on the display glass. I like it a lot, and I'm sure you will too.

Just after receiving on May 15, knocked my Space Gray Sport against a metal shelf trying to reach in for a mousepad, thought it was already scratched. To my immense relief, it was fine. Put a Zagg HD screen protector on right away and no damage since to screen, case or black Sport band.

Unfortunately, somehow I acquired a small scuff on my 42mm Space Grey Sport. Don't recall hitting anything. Disappointing, seems that Apple can never create a product with a little bit stronger scratch or scuff resistance.

Is there any way to fix this?

SS 42, a month now and not one problem. Biking, walking, jogging. It's done well. Added a leather loop to BSB and both are also doing well.
That's good to hear. I just received my SS42 and after reading about scratching I was worried about exercising with it.
