Interesting - thank you. I also noticed ads for a Bloomberg article. I noticed that some don't have ads, such as The Atlantic or Popular Science, I must have just happened to not read the articles that did. You're absolutely right that it's BS.

Apple Music is my only subscription, but if it goes up significantly I will have to learn to live without it. Careful, Crapple. :)
I get AM free as a Verizon customer. Wouldn't bother with it otherwise, at any price.

Let's see here, we've got Apple Arcade, the games service for people who are overwhelmed by actual games, Apple News, where more space is taken up on screen by advertising than actual news, and Apple TV+, the streaming channel that brings you Ted Lasso, Ted Lasso, Charlie Brown, Ted Lasso, Ted Lasso, and oh yeah, like 70 other TV shows that no one talks about.

These are the best services they've ever created with an Apple logo on them, hands down.
For Apple TV, I’m not aware of what other people are talking about because quite frankly, it is of zero importance to me. There are quite a few good shows on there and I think this is one of the few services Apple does well (I watched the first season of Ted lassoo but gave up, and have never seen Charlie Brown). Totally agree on the others though. Also the fitness app is rubbish and the visuals are really grating for me. Yet I have all of those services as part of my family subscription which is somehow cheaper than iCloud space plus music plus TV.

That's the big thing for me. The three services we actually use: 2TB, TV+, and Music get us to the premium level in cost, so the others are just gravy.

What? They forgot to raise the price of Apple Music?o_O

What about iCloud storage? No? What's a 40% increase there?

I have all of my CD's on my iPhone, so I don't need to stream music
So,... Either you are still buying CDs or you only listen to very old music. Assuming you are not a dinosaur, still listening only to oldies then the cost of a few CDs a month is more than the cost of Apple Music.

Actually, I do know someone like this. He is pretty much stuck in the late '70s and early '80s and listens to the same 20 or 40 hits from that era, over and over and over again. Someone like that really has no need for subscriptions.

I've got a year of free Apple music because I bought both a Homepod and a Mac. I may just buy one or more new Homepods. They work well with Homekit. I might never have to actually buy a music subscription

Huh? Being upset about this amount of increase is not related to price increases outside the Apple ecosystem. I haven't seen my NYT subscription raise in years. It's still at 10.99/month.
You're lucky. My NYT sub goes up at least 2x yr and the delivery service has gone downhill. I've had to cut that back too. I'm old school and like to read a physical paper on the weekend with a cup of coffee and no interruptions. Hence, the not wanting to read it online.

Reading all these comments and separate threads on the price increase makes me wonder if Apple thought this through. I'm sure they expected some attrition, but day one changes/cancellations seem as high as their price increase. I too am revaluating my Apple One subscription. I can do without the TV+ and Arcade. Bundled out of convenience and to save money on the sub. which now is no longer the case.

I'm using an educational discount and only receive the digital version. But yes, I hear you about using the printed version. In many ways that is preferable.

Honestly, a little bit of a price increase I might find acceptable, say from 9.99 to 10.25 or 10.50 for the News+ service. But a 30% jump to 12.99? Nope. That's not cool.

You know you can still buy digital copies of music through iTunes right? The current options aren't only to listen to CD or streaming; buying digital albums or digital tracks and not subscribing to a music service is still possible. Once in a while, I do buy digital tracks. I'm not a fan of music subscription since one that subscription isn't renewed, I don't get to listen to any of those music; I prefer to own a copy.

Same for me. I cancelled Apple TV and will cancel Apple Music if it goes up and just keep Spotify. I've cancelled nearly everything except for Disney+, and if it goes up before my renewal time then it will go as well.
Then what will you watch or listen to? Netflix and everything is going up at the minute 😭

My AppleTV+ is included with my T-Mobile account. This won't change, right?
Historically, TMo has passed on the increase to the customer and you pay the difference in what they used to cover vs the new cost. This was the case with Netflix when I had TMo. I paid a few bucks a month to cover over what TMo paid for that tier.

My guess is they're hoping people won't notice the increase. Lot of people don't pay close attention to the monthly charge when it's automatic. And I agree, a slight increase would've been acceptable to most. Unfortunately, this hike is anything but incremental.

Nothing wrong with tunes from the 70s and early 80s. :D

If they are going to raise prices, they need to increase iCloud storage. 50GB for individuals and 200GB for families is a joke. News+ and Apple Arcade are not worth the prices charged.
Yep, they really should have increased storage capacities.
Does anyone know if you can add an addition 200GB to the Apple One Family plan, or do you have to add 2TB?
