Let's see here, we've got Apple Arcade, the games service for people who are overwhelmed by actual games, Apple News, where more space is taken up on screen by advertising than actual news, and Apple TV+, the streaming channel that brings you Ted Lasso, Ted Lasso, Charlie Brown, Ted Lasso, Ted Lasso, and oh yeah, like 70 other TV shows that no one talks about.

These are the best services they've ever created with an Apple logo on them, hands down.

Wish there was a stronger reaction than love.

Absolutely spot on except I’d say 70 is being extremely generous. Oh yeah and did you know there’s an MLS subscription available? I sure do because an ad for it takes over my screen every time the Apple TV app launches from a cold start.

I do not see how it is considered anti-establishment or even controversial to tell people to not pay for something they don’t enjoy using or aren’t getting sufficient value out of.
While the cost of "everything" seems to be going up, I'm not cancelling over a couple of dollars. I'd rather have a few less lattes a month.

No way! The value you get from these are very worth it. Not a fan of subs but Apple earns theirs.
All I need is iCloud storage and Apple Music. And it’s ridiculous that Apple only gives you 5GB no matter how many devices you have bought.

Apple today announced significant price hikes for several of its services, including Apple TV+, Apple Arcade, and Apple News+. Because of the higher individual prices, the cost of the Apple One bundles have also increased.

In the U.S., Apple TV+ is now $9.99 per month, up from $6.99 per month. Apple Arcade+ is up $2 at $6.99, and Apple News+ is now priced at $12.99 per month, up from $9.99 per month. Apple One Individual and Family are $3 more expensive, while Premier is $5 more. Prices are going up in most countries where Apple services are available.

If you're unhappy with the new price points for Apple's services, it's quick and easy to cancel. Here's how on an iPhone or iPad:
  1. Open up the Settings app.
  2. Tap on your profile picture.
  3. Tap on Subscriptions.
  4. If you have Apple One, tap on "Cancel All Services" to end your subscription for every service. If you want to pick and choose certain ones to keep, tap on "Choose Individual Services."
  5. If you have individual subscriptions, tap on one of the subscriptions and choose the "Cancel Subscription" option.
  6. Tap on "Confirm" to go through with the cancelation.
After your subscription is canceled, your services will continue to be accessible until your next billing date. So if you paid for a year of Apple TV+, for example, it will be available until what you've paid for expires. Apple One can only be purchased on a monthly basis, so you'll have a month at most before access runs out.

If you need to cancel your subscription on your Mac, the process is similar. Open the System Settings app, click on your profile picture, select Media & Purchases, and choose "Manage" under the Subscriptions option. From there, you can follow the same steps listed above.

Apple's increased prices start today for new subscribers, but Apple is offering existing subscribers a 30-day grace period. After that 30 days, existing subscribers will see the new prices on their next renewal date. Apple is likely to send out emails ahead of the price hikes.

I don’t feel they’ve raised it enough to not justify it. Their services are so beautifully done and convenient. Not many other services worth jumping to.

Apple Music is my only subscription, but if it goes up significantly I will have to learn to live without it. Careful, Crapple. :)
I’ve always wanted to just buy the albums. I tend to listen to the same ten. They’re smart though…Spatial Audio is only with a subscription to Apple Music.

This is a great reminder to not use the cloud for anything, from any company unless you absolutely have to.

Cloud storage = giant tech company got you by the #&#$ into perpetuity. Do you really need cloud services in exchange for a slight convenience of syncing your phone / photos to your Mac?
The only problem is if your house burns down, or gets robbed, and you lose all your tech and don't have any off-site backups.

There are other solutions apart from cloud storage, of course, but they aren't very convenient, and how many of us can actually remain diligent with physically swapping backup drives to a family or friend's house?! I know I've tried it, but it doesn't take long before you realise it's been months since you last bothered.

I've personally found that Google Drive has become my go to. It was a logical transition from using gmail and google docs/sheets regularly, to boosting my Google Drive capacity. Unfortunately their automatic backup service is a pile of junk, so I combine using Carbon Copy Cloner (astonishingly fast, and as far as I can tell, accurate) for external SSD backups (my most recent SSD is a Samsung T7 2TB SSD, which I really like for quality and speed), with manually dumping certain files onto Google Drive.

Yep, I'm aware that they bot-scan your stuff for marketing keywords, so the very very small number of things that I truely view as private, are kept in a VeraCrypt file anyway.

I've tried a couple of other automated cloud backup solutions, and found them all to be woeful. Including iCloud. Some of them are absolutely annoying junk woeful. So I've given up on the automated cloud backup idea for now.

I had to cancel Apple One. We have Spotify because of the kid- and the algorithms to be fair. Getting Apple TV through TMobile. Will only pay for iCloud storage at this point.

I wouldn’t mind this so much if the bundles were mix and match so I could swap Arcade, which I have no use for, for News.

So it's my wife and I. We need 2TB and Apple Music. Nothing more. We don't have a house full of kids. We don't need news + as it's all easily available elsewhere, not to mention largely fake clickbait ********. And arcade? Lol, nah, we good.

So I'm in for $38? That is a horrible deal for 2 people.

40% increase is pure greed.

No, it's not. The rate of inflation is much higher than the government reports. This 40% increase reflects just how much the value of the US dollar has declined in the last three years. In fact, it probably doesn't keep up. We'll see another 40-50% increase within the next three years.

When government cannot confiscate your wealth through taxation, it will do so through inflation.

Dropped from Apple One Premiere to Apple One Family plus 2TB option (yeah, I have a lot of photos saved in iCloud and need that much space).

Price hike was just too much! Will no longer have Apple News or Apple Fitness but didn’t really use them anyways.

I’m in the same boat, but dropping to AppleOne Family and adding 2TB iCloud would take me to AU$47. AppleOne Premier is AU$50, so it’s not really worth the hassle. Whoever works out the pricing structure at Apple knows what they’re doing…

I recently kicked Netflix to the kerb, that provides some relief. Oh, I hear they’re raising prices again, too?

We’re exactly in the same boat and if you remove individual services that you don’t use or need like you quoted, the price goes up, so we’re stuck with the Premier!

I’m getting really tired of all these price hikes all of these companies have been implementing. Apple One, Nest Aware, PlayStation Plus, Xbox Game Pass, Hulu, Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney Plus, Sam’s Club membership, the list goes on.. Our family has had to cancel a lot of services this year simply because we are being priced out. Things are already getting tight on us with the increase in the cost of electricity/gas, water, and groceries in our area. 😔

Not sure where the 40% number comes up. I guess you mean per year. Apple One family is going up $3/month. I don’t consider that unreasonable.
