So it's preference. That's all it is. It isn't about wanting to learn or anything else, just preference.

Just like I prefer driving a manual transmission even though technology has made Automatics superior to manuals in some cases.
And I can’t stand the bezels on the legacy models anymore. They are ok but that’s all it is compared to what’s available today. There’s other reasons I went with the x too. I would of never of upgraded my 7+ for an 8+.
I also wanted ois as without it the second camera isn’t all that great for normal video or shots. I’m also over Touch ID. I use my hands for work and it fails me way too many times a day to be happy with.

Agree, I bought the 8 plus as I loved the form factor and had a comfort with it. But decided to wait in line this morning and grab an X. Simply Wow. This phone is a piece of tech that will crush all others. Very impressive. Couldn’t be happier right now with my choice.
I originally planned on buying an 8 and let the X users beta test the phone but that was more trying to convincing myself that I didn't want the X. I just played with one in stores and it is unequivocally the best iPhone Apple has ever made. The feel is extremely premium and the screen is so good that it looks fake, as if the icons are stickers on the screen.

Then I planned on buying a used 7 to hold me over for the XS but the iPhone X doesn't feel like a beta product, it feels like a flagship product.

How am I not supposed to be defensive when X owners are acting like 8 owners are a bunch of peasants haha

I can put a 6, 6s, 7 and 8 on a table face down. You'll be able to tell which one is 8 guaranteed lol

In reality, the 8 is one of the best smartphones in history (much like another other phone released this year). Anyone would think they turn into bricks at the stroke of midnight post-X release.

I feel bad for the X owners who are stuck with that tiny keyboard!😛

Don't feel bad for me as I love my 8+ and have no regrets.

Like I mentioned before, I prefer Touch ID than Face ID. But I actually, prefer a bit of bezel, especially below the screen. Some may think I'm crazy but I tend to rest my thumb by the home button when I'm reading something on the screen. Landscape mode is great on the 8+ as I can rest my hands around the side of the screen while I'm watching a movie or playing a game and not covering up the screen.

Don't feel bad for those who made choice and got an 8 or 8+...or even for those who prefer to stay on the 7, 6, or the SE iPhones. It's their choice and we should respect that. Just like I respect all of you who chose the iPhone X. I hope you enjoy the X.

I’ve read your post but you haven’t explained why you feel bad for iPhone 8 owners???? Why do you feel bad?

I don't think we should put down those who own the 8 or 8 Plus (or even the 7 or 7 Plus for that matter). Apple doesn't put out crappy phones. They're always top notch. People get what they believe is what is best for them.

I feel more bad for those who switched to Android because the X had a notch 😛

Defensive mode if ever there was one! lol In truth though, the 8 is a classic, but a classic that is practically indistinguishable at any reasonable distance from the iPhone 6, or 6S, or 7 that came before it.
*Gasp*

I know it's an 8. Nothing else matters beyond that.

The note is much better phone than the 8’s in my opinion I would of stuck with that phone for a year till you wanted to get back into Apple.
The 8’s where a filler upgrade. Speed wise you won’t notice a difference between the 8’s and the 7’s(in everyday use). Basically the same phone minus wireless charging which isn’t a big deal to a lot. Glass back could also be a negative to a lot of people. Cameras are better on the 8’s I’ll give it that.
The 8’s where for the people that had the 6 or 6s that didn’t want to wait till the x came out and price difference(even though they raised pricing on the 8’s for some odd reason). The pricing for the + version isn’t much less than the x also.
Also the 8’s are for the people that don’t want to learn new gestures and are OK with staying with a old and boring design. Someone like my 70 year old Mom. She would be happy with an 8 for just speed reasons and better cameras than her 6+.

I'm 34 and don't find my phone boring. So where do I fall within your sweeping generalization?

Friendly advice ... I'd probably concentrate on mastering spelling and grammar before trying to master psychology.

The iPhones 8 are still great phones, but I agree I bet a lot of those owners wish they had waited for the X. This truly is the best product Apple has ever made. It is literally perfect. Flawless. Incredible.

But guess what? We can still buy one down the road. It's as if you didn't get one at launch then you're on a "never can get an iPhone X" list.

Imagine the SE owners.

How will they get through the day without swallowing a bottle of pain pills to end the misery?

The horror...the horror...
Haha. I still love the SE. would probably buy another if something happened to my 7.

The reality is that every modern iPhone does the same things. The newer and more expensive ones do those things a little faster and a little better, but fundamentally, you’d be hard pressed to find many things that an X can do that a SE can’t. And an X compared to an 8... basically the same phone but with a bigger/better screen and different authentication method.

I feel sorry for anyone who isn't using an SE.

That includes me; I'm on a 7, but love the SE ergonomics and usability (just wish it at least had waterproofing). It's a true on-the-go device. SE is also the smoothest iOS 11 experience I've seen so far. If they released an updated SE with feature parity with at least the 7, I would absolutely consider that a better device than the X (for me anyhow).

What about scumbags like me who use an iPhone 6S and don’t feel in any way inferior? Where would I fit in with your presumptuous diatribe?
