I have a feeling the 2011 refresh is gonna happen sooner than later...

well i prefer the white, it doesnt bent like the aluminium and the aluminium cuts your fingers if you spend a lot of time on the computer. oh and its more expensive with only things provided firewire (which very few people use compared to usb), and backlit keyboard (which is good, but since the macbook's keyboard is white, the screen lights it enough).
oh and also, the white macbook has a significantly better wifi signal :)

About the keynote or not, i believe if the macbook air is truely "the future of macbooks" and they're making big changes on the next gen pros, they'll have an event about it. if its just a spec upgrade like sandy bridge cpus, it will be a store update without notice.

SO you think it's going to be ready, because you "have one of those feelings" and because you are "already ready to upgrade" and because you have your money and everything? Are you like 11 years old? Because the only proof that you have shown is because you want it to be. You have decided for Apple and the rest of the world that waiting another quarter of a year is just "too long".

Maybe it's time that you realize that the world does not revolve around your pre-pubescent wishes. Apple will bring out the new models when it likes, not necessarily when you like.

Everyone needs to chill out. Now of course I was doing all the speculating around this time last year when I was waiting for the 2010 MacBook Pros to come out so I could get mine. But jeez, its going to come out, eventually! None of us here know anything more than any other Apple customer.

The only type of advice I can give you is to SELL YOUR MAC NOW. You said you wanted to sell your 13 inch. Whatever your mac is worth, the amount will drop a lot by the time a new mbp is announced. Yeah, you may be mac-less for a few weeks, maybe even months but I think its worth it.

I'm 27 not 11.

The thread is a slightly playful reflection of all of our hopes.

I never did claim that I had facts but the humor is that none of us do. I worded it like it was some confident statement but that was the joke, I still technically always used the word "feel" combined in with statements that almost come across as confident fact. It's a humorous play on the old cliche that Apple is tight knit and nobody really knows for sure.

I believe I aptly captured the spirit of those of us that are waiting, and if you're one to be so filled with wit and seem to be such a champion of common sense you should have picked up on the dry humor like others have.

All we have is hope.

This thread is like the other threads except for that it has a biased slant towards an early release prediction.

If there are clues or rumors supporting an early refresh, this is the thread to magnify and put a biased spotlight on those clues.

Anything that gives us hope, which is the fun part of this waiting period. It's all in fun.

I know the Internet is super serious but I thought I would carve out a little place in here were we can have a tiny bit of humor and positivity.

Forgive me.

Would you rather him say "the next MBP upgrade will be sometime after 2012 and since the world is going to end then, get your MBPs now?"

Even though Im quite likely wrong, I predict no earlier than March. If Feb 20th is the earliest these chips will be available, I highly doubt apple is going to be releasing MBPs utilizing them the following week.
 
Here's the real question...would you rather:
a) See an updated MBP in February of 2011, or
b) See Heidi Klum and Halle Berry make out in a hot tub full of strawberry Jello?

What kind of question is that? The question should be as follows:

a) Get an updated MBP in February of 2011, or
b) Join Heidi Klum and Halle Berry making out in a hot tub full of strawberry Jello?

And I would certainly go for B) then. I do like Apple computers, but I'm not a macfag.

Now that is more wishful thinking than hoping for a quad core in the MBP...I wish:( :cool:
 
i really hope apple doesn't switch to liquid metal. darker laptops look ugly. the silver/white mbp look elegant atm and making it darker would just not make it feel right.

choice A, then macbook pro. Ha, seriously though, mbp should/ likely will be out within weeks. Feb likely for sure. need more hints and stories about supplies. Apple does not wait for each current version mb to sell, they likely have many left over when new models come out, in which go on refurb site, 3rd party, or recycled. If they waited for each mb/mbp to be gone then supply shortages would be a pain in their sales ( :) )

whats really annoying is how on weekends usually means downtime in stories, rumors, etc.. its like the whole rumorville and articles go dark for 48 hours.

And to the guy who said he would JOIN not watch, what makes you think they would LET you?

Maybe if it was Selena Gomez and Megan Fox or something I would pick that over a MBP.

It's not that you're attractive or not attractive but rather that a third male doesn't belong in this fantasy scene which would turn a softcore makeout between stars into some threesome porno. Watch but don't touch. At least not them.
