I have a feeling the 2011 refresh is gonna happen sooner than later...

any day? it'll be at least 2 weeks to 2 months, I'm betting on Feb 22nd as it's the last tuesday in February and the only Tuesday in February after Intel actually releases Sandy Bridge (well the dual core ones anyway)

and I've had a good feeling about February for a while, and then yesterday I had a look at next month on my calendar and got a really good feeling (be quiet I'm allowed to go by my gut) but it still could be as late as the end of march
 
This Thread really turned out to be a stroke of friggin genius.
Never was I more amused to think about the new macbooks ;-)

I hope they will have a nice GPU and High Res FullHD Display, so that i can at least watch Heidi Klum and Halle Berry (or whoever) via LiveStream :cool:

I thought the re-fresh would of come earlier :(

O'well I'd rather wait than spend money now and regret it
 
I hope it comes soon, but Intel screwed up on their chipset, way to go. wait even longer? supplies shortage now paired with crap chips? what will happen.

Seems like there is going to be a very long wait ahead
 
I really don't care if it is not until next summer or next fall. I just enjoy coming here and watching everyone wait! :)

Seriously, no worries. The whole Mac lineup will still be updated sometime in 2011. Besides, the longer the wait, the more likely the new machines will ship with Lion already installed!

Very true, although Lion doesn't get released until summer :(

Yeah by the sounds of it this thread should now go in hibernation for a month or two, as it now sounds nearly impossible that they will be released in Feb. March if we're lucky, but even that could be a stretch.
 
I'm just going to have to stick it out a bit longer with my rubbish Windows PC

So true. Maybe this thread should be retitled something like "I have a feeling the 2011 refresh is gonna happen later rather than sooner"?

I am very glad that Intel caught it quickly, admitted it right away, and is doing something about it very rapidly. Other companies have been known to ignore the problem for ages and just hope it goes away.

Besides, I don't know who you would turn to for a competitive part. AMD? They are usually running a couple of years behind Intel. There is no second best in this race. That is, unless Apple is planning to introduce some AMD models soon for the low end. I am not speculating on that part, just playing "what if?"

I hope the desktop/notebook part is resolved soon. The story has yet to post on Slashdot so maybe by the time it does there will be more details. And yes, surely this will all be resolved and discussed at the February 23rd meeting.
 
I'd be surprised if they aren't updated either this or next week. I think it'll be in the next few days though.

Actually I'm an idiot I didn't read the other pages, hopefully it wont delay it by long.

I guess if it means they're delayed it's good news in the sense that it means at least one model will use the sandy bridge, but I guess a lot of people were expecting that anyway.

I'm glad Apple doesnt jump the gun on the latest/greatest thing! Let the market settle a bit, then do a product intro/refresh....
