It was pretty clear that this was going to be an iterative update so I don’t know what people were expecting.

Anyone who was on the fence would’ve received their deliveries from Apple, tested it out for themselves and returned it within 14 days if it wasn’t meeting their expectation.

Dramatising it in a meaningless thread is just - well - meaningless.

This screenshot off one of the review videos shows the bigger display of the S7 vs the S6. Pretty big difference to my eyes.

Heck, I'm going from a Series 4 to a 7. It is going to be like having an iPad mini on my wrist :p Seriously, these old eyes need as much display size as possible.

Honest question....Why do individuals post comments like these? They are all over MacRumors forums. I guess they are trying to solicit a reaction.

A need for validation, I think, and MacRumors is cheaper than therapy.

"I saw reviews where other people told me what to think and now I think those things. Can more people tell me if I should continue thinking those things or should I think the other thing?"

Imagine buying the series 6 and buying the 7 a year later . I hate to see what your auto loan situation is I assume you change cars before you have to fill it up with gas.

Uh, lots of people upgrade yearly. I don't normally, but I am this time. And my finances are just fine, but thanks for your assumptions about me and others. Buying a watch every 1-2 years is quite a different thing than buying a new car every 1-2 years. People who want a new car frequently usually lease.

I'm still on series 3. Works like a charm and battery lasts 3 days or so.
Every gen I'm saying I'm switching on the next but here I am already waiting for 8 lol.
The Gen 3 is still my favorite Apple Watch. I moved on to a 5 due to the better cellular reception (ceramic back) & additional cellular bands, but that is a great watch!

I’m not saying your finances are bad just questioning the decision making of buying a new 400 $ (op payed 700 $) watch every year . I know trade is are a thing but still. For a device that doesn’t drastically change. I know my post came across as assumptive but I meant to make a comparison more than anything.

It's not your decision to question, though. Not everyone shares the same value judgments. I guarantee you spend your money freely on some things that I would never do and vice versa. I wouldn't question your decision to do so. Now, if I knew you personally, and you had told me you weren't sure how you were going to buy groceries this month, and then you go out and buy an Apple Watch on credit, well then that's different because I actually know your situation and see that you're clearly making a bad decision. On the other hand, if you have plenty of disposable income each month, then that's quite another matter.

I have the Series 6 and purchased the Series 7. Granted it isn't a big update with lots of new features but, I knew that ahead of time. I don't consider buying a new watch after a year a big deal. I can buy whatever I want whenever I want. It doesn't mean I will every time but, sometimes I treat myself. I don't care about trade-in value. That isn't part of the buying equation for me.

Is there some MR rule I am unaware of, that everyone has to think and act the same when it comes to upgrading? Has forum membership gotten so petty, that those who upgrade some Apple toys every year are looked down upon by people like yourself? It appears so. You aren't paying the bills of those who upgraded after a year so, why do you feel compelled to assume that those who upgrade are bad with their finances? You have no knowledge of such behavior and yet, you have made illogical judgements on people you don't know.

The only reason I don’t personally upgrade my Apple products every year is because I’m in medical school and can’t afford to do so. 😆 I already told my wife, new iPhone, iPad Pro, Watch I’ll probably upgrade to every new version just because I enjoy using those products so much and when I can afford to do so, I will.

As long as you have the blessing of your wife, that is all that really matters. Otherwise, it is the couch for you. lol

Only helps if you have a full screen Face… as we know, doing so will drain your battery (vs a dark/black face)

Btw, if people find this thread meaningless, why are you replying? Clearly you find value in replying to a meaningless thread 🤣

So are you saying that you can't ever call anything meaningless without being a hypocrite? So if someone starts a thread that says, "Ar liz un gheu lt eit" and I reply to the thread to say it's meaningless, that means I actually think it's valuable? LOL!

It’s probably the smallest year over year update AW has ever had. But it’ll still be a great upgrade from a series 4.

and the slab design was awful. Can’t believe so many wanted that.
Until Apple releases it and you suddenly develop amnesia to your past sentiment. 😜
