Yeah, it's a $300 in your pocket downgrade. The ONLY advantage I see with the Pro is a slightly smaller form factor. I've had the X and the XS which I liked better for the size, but this year I went with the 11, mainly because of the reduced price. Yeah, I don't have the 3 len format, but that's fine with me.
The member I replied to already had the 11 pro, coming from an 8, and was contemplating swapping for the 11. The Pro models are the tier above the standard 11 regardless of your preference thus my original comment. Whether you save money, prefer LCD, dont see a difference etc wasn't my point.

I don’t know about that statement. Because there’s even YouTube tests showing average consumers the difference between LCD and OLED, and they couldn’t differentiate between the two technologies. So what’s my point? If you know what to look for specifically, you can differentiate the difference between LCD and OLED, but for the average consumer, do you think they truly know what to look for? I don’t they do. Maybe us ‘techies’ are more educated on these differentiations.

You're probably right the average joe blow wouldn't notice. After having a Xr for 8 months i was ready for something smaller anyway and i wanted the best camera available in a iPhone, i would never of got another 11. Only reason i got the Xr was it was a bargain over 40% off retail.

Let's be honest those buying the 11 are because its the cheapest big iPhone available. Except for size, oled and camera they all do the same. /endthread.

Jon Gruber says the iPhone 11 is the “technical equivalent” of the iPhone 11 Pro aside from a few points (namely screen, battery life and telephoto camera). Remember that the iPhone 11 has the same processor, RAM, same camera enhancements (Night Mode, Deep Fusion, etc). The Pro is “more premium” but functionally isn’t a better phone.

For me is functionally better, because is smaller and I can handle better on hands and pockets. Not everything is about the tech, is also how you can use the tech in your day to day life.

In fact I went back to the regular 8, because the Pro this year is similar weight as the 11, and is too much. Appart from other things I don´t like so much (oled, face id, notch, etc) but that is another discussion.

If the iPhone 11 was called the XR 2 this thread wouldn’t even exist.

it is amazing what naming does to people’s minds.

holy crap

1.48 million pixels vs 3.38million pixels is a functionally better feature To me. Especially graphics fidelity just looks way better in games. Same goes for the construction of the device, better material, better dust resistance, water resistance.

Not crazy about the OLED colour shift and white balance. The lcd looks very good in the 11 and lacks a colour shift although the contrast is better on OLED.

The actual sub-pixel count is 4.45M vs. 5.48M.

It's no surprise many people don't see the difference between the displays.

Not true at all.

Seems like you're the one identifying with the Pro being "superior" and calling out owners of the 11, with their "inferior" phones. No one is arguing with you that the 11 Pro on paper is better in terms of pure tech specs and build components. Subjectively, I've found that the 11 is the better phone for me. Nothing to do with price. Enjoy your 11 Pro, we who have switched are enjoying the 11. Not a big deal.

I remember when Apple people would only make fun of Android....now we have people fighting over stupid crap like LCD vs OLED....iPhone 11 vs Pro Models lol

Just buy what you want and call it a day. No one in the real world cares what phone you have.

Same ppl who defend Oled like their life is on the line and criticize lcd are the same ppl who used lcd for a decade while android users had the privilege to enjoy oled since 2009. So it’s quite funny

Bought yesterday an 11 after my 11 Pro. Well, bezels are very big for me (I bought the white silicon case, it does not help...). I’ll test for 10 days. If I can not get used to it. I do not know what to buy. :(

Which is why "Pro" is a terrible name

The iP11 is just 7mm taller, 4 mm wider, 2 mm thicker and bezels 1 mm thicker.

Is incredible how those littler number affect on the use, handle and the look. I used the 11 Pro for 2 days and sent it back due to OLED issues; I went back to the regular 11 and couldn´t stand the size, weight (with a case OMG, horrible) and the chunky bezels.

Sold the 11 and got the 8 4,7 with 128 gb.

Let´s see next year the revamp of the 8 or the 5,4 PRO or whatever naming they have.

Why have you returned the Pro?

Just went to the same... After using the 11 Pro (5.8') 64gb for a 10 days I couldn't see anything that either justify the price difference or will really miss me.

I previously mentioned 6 advantages / benefits for the 11 Pro:

- Pocketable size/one hand use
- Brighter Oled Screen
- Additional Telephoto Lens
- Slightly better battery (in theory)
- Better build quality
- Fast Charger in the box

But at the end of the day the only one that will be missing me the most is the Pocketable size/one hand use. All the other items will be not missing me really so far and I can see the following advantages:

- 128gb Memory size option
- More information on the screen (like the Max) but right the phone is bigger than 11 pro ☹
- Battery life still great
- Price / Best value for money
- Screen color temperature is less warm and without extreme color shifting compared to OLED

So if I can handle the size and not find it too bulky for my every day usage I’ll stick with this one.

And you can get an 18watt charger on amazon for $30, plug and lightning to type c cable included. Charging my phone as we speak with it. The pro really isn’t worth the $300 extra imo

OLED yellow tint

you can give a try to other unit... Is a little yellow but once you use it for a couple of days it´s fine... we are always comparing phones side by side and there are going to be differences...

I upgraded from an 8 to a Pro, and the Pro itself feels too big already, but then I'm having a hard time adjusting to the screen. I love the camera(s) though. But I'm wondering if the 11 would be better than the Pro for the screen, but if I feel the Pro is too big already, the 11 will be even worse. Decisions, decisions... (I'm hoping I'll just get used to the Pro and stick with it.)
I have iPhone 6 and was considering and upgrade but for some reason, the 11 Pro or 11 is just too big and heavy. Although I would love to have the camera.
So I think I'll wait for SE2 and then will make up my mind. :)

Yes, My both 27" computer screen are calibrated to be very cold / white. So every time I took my Pro, it was really ugly.

I think the 11 is too big for me, I can't write a message with one hand. I'll probably swap again for a Pro. idk... o_O

I always use phones 2 handed so a Pro Max doesn't really bother me. I tested out a regular Pro because I wanted to see if I would like the size...but I realized I was using it 2 handed anyway...so I went with the Max lol
